Honestly, even without Libram support this is good enough to run, because it's actually the first time we get this effect asymmetrical. It's a pretty big deal when you don't actually have to murder your own board while playing Wild Pyromancer.
It also gets improved by the fact that you don't actually need Pyro for it to be useful, because the weapon gives it at least some value as a standalone and that's HUGE for a class that doesn't really have that much access to draw.
Interesting addition to Equality now that Shrink ray is rotating out. And the fact you get a weapon is huge - you can start clearing right away. If you have access to some sort of healing ofc. That's the big question about this card - now that Kangor and Shirvallah are rotating out. But looking at the other revealed cards - I think that some sort of control pala might get a chance on the ladder.

I think this is too expensive to run. Wild Pyromancer + Equality, or Silver Hand Recruit/trash minion(s) + Equality can get the job done. This would only be better than those combos if you wanted to keep an important minion on board and can afford 6 mana to do that.

But this one is a Libram and can be discounted. In later turns, with multiple discounts, it can generate huge swings.
More support for control Paladin. But with Shirvallah, the Tiger leaving standard, there is the question if control Paladin will have another win condition besides fatigue.
At 6, its still decent. That it doesnt affect your side of the board is huge, and it provides you with a weapon to take down at least 1 minion with your face. Pair this with cost reduction, and you've got your swing turn tech card all in one.
Yes, it works well with Wild Pyromancer, Consecration, and just about any small minion. The wild pyro gets to actually live through this, so even with an empty board its still going to clear with a 3/1 left behind.

After upgrading it this will be the old pre-nerf Equality but only opponent side and gives you a weapon. Good card.
RNG is only fun as long as there is a 50/50 chance of getting something really good or trash level of bad. If RNG always results in something good, then it's not fun.
I've been holding onto a couple spare Pyromancers because I can see it getting HoF'd. It didn't this time, but maybe next? Cards like this will continue to make it an auto-include in many control decks.

is that so wrong though? Pyro has always been a soft boardclear for decks that don't exactly get premium removal. It's always gonna be a 2-card clear (or more) which balances it out.

No, it's not wrong. But they tend to Hof cards that see too much play. Look a Azure Drake. However, since it's mostly Paladins and Priests that always use it (correct me if I'm overlooking anyone), it might be safe to stay.

yeah that's what I meant, only a select number of classes actuallly use it which goes against the idea of it being too common. Stuff like Azure Drake and Leeroy were run in basically any deck that supported their playstyle, whereas Pyro only really makes sense in classes that can actually use it's effect efficiently. Also the reason why Gadgetzan Auctioneer hasn't been HoF'd yet.

This might see play, depending on the strength of Libram Paladin. It's a good control tool, but in a class with too few other control tools to make a cohesive deck.
Obviously going to be good if the Libram Package functions well; you could make it cost zero! Going straight into a Pure Paladin. You don't even need to discount it (but why would you not try).

What Blizzard thinks players are going to do: Use the weapon on the Silver Hand Recruits to finish the minions.
What players are actually doing to do: Wild Pyromancer.

Also, Shrink Ray needed a replacement anyways.
I tried having fun once.
It was awful.
I have just noticed that this is enemy only: as long as you can stay wide enough on the board, this card grants you to stay ahead on Tempo.
+ Wild Pyromancer it becomes board clear AND Mancer survives too!

Meh. The Fact that you can reduce its Cost is great, but in most Cases you still need to face-tank some Damage.
Although, it probably would've been imba if it also changes the Attack to 1.

Seems like a strong card, especially after a cost-decrease.
Shrink Ray rotates out, yet Paladins will do a little more of the same
