It's very much confirmed, and you only need to pay attention to two things: make sure the "Live" button next to the sound icon is active (that is showing as a red dot; if it's turned grey, you are out of sync with the stream and it's not counting) - you are right in that muting YouTube seems to also eventually turn off the "live" part in your tab. I tend to switch and minimize tabs a lot otherwise and that on its own doesn't seem to immediately desync and turn me off the "live" mode, but I like to check every once in a while it's active when hunting packs.
The other thing is just to check one is watching on the correct YouTube account (classified as personal and not brand, for some reason) and that the "connected" text shows right next to the upvove/downvote buttons.
They still do a pretty poor job of advertising it, too (aside from YT's flaws when it comes to live streaming and community engagement). If they really cared, they could've sneaked in a small in-game notification. It gets a small mention on the Battle.net client, but you would need to scroll down for it while other past news appear at the top.
Hey, I'm all about donating wins that way! Especially in Tavern Brawls, might make somebody happy with their free pack. I like to play without worrying about those pesky quest slots.
I imagine they should be able to detect actual bots (hopefully), but something like this on user's end probably wouldn't qualify. The rules seem murky. I'm only familiar with relatively simple autoclickers; this sounds like a far more complicated setup for all these loops to take place. Somehow deploying minions too as I understand. I wish they gave us better ways for earning XP so people wouldn't be encouraged to do any afk grinding, as creative as it gets. ;)
Yes, I don't like it. Basically sending a message that weeks 2-7 don't matter much at all and are only worth this much, and if somebody misses week 1 - too bad, suckers. They could've gone for a much more reasonable spread of weeks 1-2, 3-5, 6-7 plus playoffs, and it's not like a few extra packs to promote their highest esports tier would ruin Hearthstone's coffers.
Competitors are more than used to having to play around whatever plans HS team comes up with, rarely ever anything is being scheduled around them. And it's actually smarter to wait with nerfs and see what's potentially overpowered with one more weekend of data and some games from the top players.
It's winrates, but not playrates (they've nerfed decks before based on the latter, and general perception). Also it's about how the entire meta shapes up with everything considered together. Naturally many decks will be used in order to counter Quest Mage/non-Zoo Quest Lock, and in turn decks that match those counters get seen more.
That would help, but also pruning some active/passive treasures. And coming with up more than 3 choices offered (we know they have the tech for at least 4 and more). It becomes even more of a random luck to land something good when they keep bloating the total amount.
Curiously, Priest still has been doing pretty well in the tournaments as part of many winning lineups (with a lot of older cards), and lower ladder ranks always tend to tank its win rate. I imagine a lot of that might be down to Illucia more than anything else.
That's pretty much what I always tend to do at the start of an expansion. No doubt it's a better use of gold than just buying the packs, but there are always time constraints to consider. Still, some fun times to be had in Arena; although I don't know about that [Hearthstone Card (Battlegrounds Battlemaster) Not Found]...
That's very well put when thought about it that way. It does not respect the duplicate protection if we can get unlucky and end up with 3-4 copies of the same epic while still missing so many others. Ironically all they would need to do in order to fix it would be to at least make them disenchantable.
I tend to be on the move a fair bit, so a lot of that comes from the benefits of a mobile version. Whenever on a transit, stuck in some office/market queue, waiting or even walking for longer on one's own, it's easy to fit in a game. But yes, I did still miss a handful of quests entirely due to the occasional time constraints. It can get hectic on busy weeks.
Aside from the Ranked weekly (and I got much better at dealing with that one efficiently), I don't find it particularly time consuming. Usually it's only needed 2-3 times per week once quests accumulate and can be dealt with together in one swoop. Everyday play isn't that appealing. The "play X games as a class" are my favorite, since you can queue up a game and just walk away to do something else as it auto completes.
At least I stopped obsessing over min-maxing when it comes to 900 XP quests, and will still play on a good day even if they get in the way (I used to avoid completing those as much as possible).
Very true. Golden version of a Legendary that we all get pre-expansion is part of the Tavern Pass, so it's never bothered me as much as the other golden uncraftables. But it is indeed annoying not being able to turn Vol'jin/Dungar into dust, would've come in handy.
Before the great rework it happened once in the past, and we had a very weird meta where every class lacked its basic reliable tools. But with Core being a thing now, the old Classic is no longer nearly as important for Arena.

It did not.

I linked this in the related deck article as a reply to one comment, but in case you haven't seen yet:

Bruising still triggers me, which might be due to many scars of going against duplicated legendary minions turn after turn.

'tis not a bug. I'm sorry to disappoint if you haven't yet seen this particular exchange, but: https://twitter.com/wiRerHS/status/1422732413478780929
For what it's worth I still saw a lot of pros agreeing with your initial assessment and calling the Garrote deck overrated regardless.

Full seven days even. Yep, that one sure hurt. I was hoping for a good chunk of last minute experience there.

Almost at the cap then. And yeah, Hearthstone can be unstable these days.
There is a BG autoclicker? I probably shouldn't be too surprised, people will come up with anything.
It's just a sign that more tavern tickets ought to be put to good use!
