That checks out, nifty little connective threads for those appreciative of the lore. I'm only a dozen "books of" adventures behind, so maybe I will get to see that sometime next year. ;)
I was testing it in Big Warrior during the previous meta, and was actually pretty underwhelmed. It didn't do nearly enough to help stabilize. Most decks could deal with double 2/4s way too efficiently, and it felt better relying on more removal, card draw, or value instead (War Cache might still be too greedy).
Not that I recall either, it would've made relatively little sense. But in an environment like Duels where anything goes... I can see why they might need to specify.
Oh, not a mistake per se. It was just referring to the earlier developer quote as well as the linked patch notes (both clarifying that it's about buckets-only ban), but I can see how it could read differently out of context! I have added a line to make it even clearer.
"A bit of chaos" might be a generous way to put it. ;) But it can be good fun. And yes, I believe their early plan included more new heroes and powers by now. Presumably that's all tied to the Mercenaries mode, and since that has been delayed, so could the relevant theme for Duels. Hopefully we won't have to wait that much longer.
Definitely not a great first impression. Apparently it's just the work of a handful of people over a few months, which unfortunately does show at times. It's been frustrating me with its poor performance, to put it mildly. They seem to be determined to get it right for the future at least, correcting some bugs every day.
Funnily enough I've had my https://dreamhack.com/app/me/offers opened in a separate tab and it sent me a day 4 pack and daily Steam game codes even when I haven't logged in at the time or talked to the relevant NPC. So that was nice.
Added a couple more updates about the increased requirements for the pack goblin and some clarifications for the Battlegrounds lobbies (can participate twice a day if there is room) plus extra links. I've personally played with both Cara and Enli and can confirm they are good at organizing these things and providing pack codes outright.
Fingers crossed! If you are on our Discord or in that Twitch channel and not having much luck with getting in, you can give me a nudge and I'd try to help.
Yeah, I can tell you that I've also had the worst kind of luck with Bemmie. It sucked. I once sat in a lobby for an hour once he finally invited, tried to help find other players... no go. I was just as angry about the time wasted and poor communication. Do not let that discourage you, I can guarantee you that Enli and Cara are far far better in getting BG lobbies off the ground and providing packs (and it will be only them handling these from now on). Enil is at it right now actually, you can even peek at his Twitch and he will respond there and update on the status regularly. They were even inviting through Discord and Twitch when told somebody had troubles logging into the DH game.
It is true about the friends list after the patch however, it being thoroughly bugged and making it harder at times to receive/send friend invites and issue challenges.
I've lost several levels on most days I was in, it's definitely annoying. Happening to almost everyone. They could use some proper log out function. This first version of the game does have a lot of frustrating bugs, even though they promise to iron them out for the future.
Ow, when did you try and with whom? I've had some good luck with Enli and Cara as being the most communicative and helpful. If you are on Discord or Twitch, some of these lobbies could even be arranged without logging into the DreamHack game.
Precisely. It is all about banking that extra dust for the future, even for avid collectors. Recrafting takes but a moment, so hedging one's bets on maybe pulling two copies of these cards again (from Tavern Brawl Packs, Standard packs from the new Rewards Track, etc.) in upcoming months is fair game. This way one gets the full dust now and could still find the cards again later when they are no longer refundable.
You and me both. If we had known, we would've been able to at least post some warning ahead of time. They really dropped the ball with zero communication on this, and no proper heads up on the patch.
Inside Hearthstone Tavern in DreamHack game. Talk to Bob and he can tell you which admin is currently running them (Cara, Enli, or Bemmie). Or if you see them standing around, pm them directly with your battletag and server of choice (if you only play in 1 region mainly). They invite to private lobbies.
I read on their Discord that apparently the packs for day 3 were depleted in under an hour once the goblin was reset. And that they were asking Blizzard for more codes for following days. The more people learn about it the harder it becomes, we started seeing quite a crowd now.
"Update: We have also learned what Bob's Battlegrounds invites are all about. Throughout the day he may direct you to an admin person of choice, in charge of organizing lobbies. Shoot them a message, share your battle tag, and you might be picked to participate in one round. The winner gets 2 packs, anyone playing gets 1. This does require a fair bit of patience and waiting around however, so be prepared. The announcements are best tracked through the Three-Headed Dragon Discord, alternatively Twitter such as Gnimsh's or CaraCute's."

Now that's quite an impressive early selection. I like the variety!

Updated with all Top 8s and respective winners for each tournament.

I was very glad to hear that! And to see that you even snatched that extra pack giveaway on Twitch. That's awesome contents for a single pack.
Enli is indeed good people, even if he keeps winning a tad too many lobbies. ;)

Ah, so that was you. :) Small world.

Yep, he is meant to be Flightmaster Dungar's trusted flying buddy. They are being cheesy by reversing the roles.

One more update, for the Battlegrounds packs:

I'm not sure if you have seen, but that problem appears to be fixed. But I'm not responsible for that either way. ;)
