  • Imprisoned Phoenix would be a great target for Aegwynn, the Guardian... there are no Frostbolt and no Ice Lance in standard, but if Mage gets another cheap burn spell, an OTK might come together. After all, with two Phoenixes in play and one of them having inherited Aegwynn's Spell Damage, you can already deal as much as 24 damage with two Fireballs. The lack of stalling tools like Frost Nova and Blizzard and the inconsistency of Aegwynn's Deathrattle would keep it at a reasonable level I guess.

  • Looking forward to try to put a Deathrattle Priest together that isn't pure Convincing Infiltrator cancer. Maybe it will even be possible to brew a semi-competitve Deathrattle-Shadowform deck together :-)

  • Gnaaaah that Hakkar Hunter again. I'm missing Brann Bronzebeard, Deathstalker Rexxar, Hakkar, the Soulflayer and Wyrmrest Purifier but my fingers are itching to try this out with the new expansion around the corner or not.

    Two of the three legendaries are good anyway so I guess I'll do it.

  • Your arguments look very reasonable and while the loss of flavor is sad, I understand the necessity of making space for Expansion cards (which is what ultimately keeps the game alive). What really worries me though is where that train of thought leads us. The design space getting available now has not been used before because a) the rotating cards were better or b) the rotating cards had too strong synergies with potential new cards. If it is option b) in a majority of cases, Wild will see an interesting year to say the least.

  • New Alex could be a cool additipn to Wild Quest Shaman decks, even if replaying her battlecries with Shudderwock is quite risky.

    Thanks for the pointer to new Onyxia spawning Whelps every turn, I guess I'll try that Unseal the Vault deck in Wild after all :-)

  • Well, looks like the character for one of my favorite custom cards has been taken. :(

    That said, Blizzard's Kor'vas looks interesting. I like the flavor of the class but it looks like much depends on a good set from Barrens.

    U should be able to dust ur golden dupes of basic cards but i can be wrong.  Are basic rotating too?

    And since everyone with Wild unlocked will automatically get all regular and golden Basic cards at rotation (info here, Introducing the Legacy Set section), that's 14,300 dust from just the golden Basic cards, which is 100 dust short of being able to craft 9 legendary cards.

    Thanks for pointing out the source, but I'm still not convinced that we'll be able to disenchant the golden Basic cards. If you look closely, they are

    a) stressing that Classic cards will be craftable and disenchantable - that statement wasn't made when it comes to Basic cards;

    b) explicitely telling us that Golden Demon Hunter Initiate cards will be craftable and disenchantable - those cards are otherwise treated the same as Basic cards in this sentence, so logic tells me that Basic cards and regular Demon Hunter Initiate cards can't be disenchanted.

    I usually count myself among the optimists, but I really don't expect Blizzard giving away so much dust.

  • Congratulations! Enjoy the feeling & the cardback! :-)

  • That's right, back to you again!

  • You're throwing pens? Please, keep it real!

    You're talking scrolls, I'm talking steel.

    Your feeble pinpricks stand no chance;

    But at what cost? Sorrow to no end!

  • Tracking super stronk!

  • Ruststeed Raider, because it's a lovely day!

  • What we're talking about are golden copies of the former Basic cards. That should be the group of cards that could net quite some dust for the majority of players IF it is possible to disenchant them. Which I strongly doubt to be honest.

    The non-golden copies of former Basic cards are a different topic, since they might be useful in the new Classic mode, Wild or a future game mode we don't know about yet.

    We should also keep in mind that they'll all be converted to common cards, so even if it is possible to disenchant them, you won't get rich unless your class levels are high and/or you commit to only ever play Standard (which advise against as well).

    • I (and many other old players who don't really care for Wild/Classic) now have the option to dust massive amounts of classic cards.

    Even just dusting all the golden basic cards will net you nearly 9 legendaries worth of dust!  I plan on keeping the rest because I do play Wild, and want to check out the Classic mode, but even just those golden basic cards will amount to some good savings.  I could save the dust to get some of the new cards I miss or maybe use it as an investment towards older cards I always wanted but never opened.

    This is getting off topic now, but I'd like to talk about dusting policy if somebody's interested. As far as I know, classic cards will still be available in the new Classic Mode and in Wild, so dusting them is possible but should be considered wisely in case you need them for one or both of those modes.

    I'm not so sure about Basic cards though. Are you sure it will be possible to dust them? I somehow remember having read that it isn't. If you're right, that's really great news!

    I think DapperDog made a better deck, however that it still isn't perfect imo. What is the goal of Arbor Up in the deck? Is to an Anubisath Defender trigger? I'd personally put at least one more dragon into the deck, and this seems to be the perfect card to cut.

    I agree, but we have to be careful not to put too many minions into the deck. Evasive Drakonid might be a good choice.

  • That's right NerdyMcNerd! You're next :-)

  • Come on, it's nice to try something new from time to time. If it proves to be too hard, I'll give major hints.

    Here's something that might be helpful: the seventh and the eighth letter in the second word are the same.
