I'm surprised none of the staff mentioned they'll miss the old gods. Ahem...the old gods are the best thing that came out of this expansion and will be very sad to see them go, would never get bored of them.
Aside from them, there's very few cards a really enjoyed in DMF. Tent Trasher had cool art but that's my dragon bias for you.
Oh and does anyone remember Grand Totem Eys'or? Yup, neither did I till I went through the list of cards from this expansion.
It's so funny reading the Kazakusan section with all the LOCUUUUSTS!!! mentions 🤣like you can't really be serious about it, especially when you read the card name as is, with the scream 😅
Augmented Porcupine: I really wanted control hunter to be a thing, and the idea of buffing this beast up and having it clear the board once dead was just the perfect board clear design that never worked out.
Skeletal Dragon: Such a boring name for this card but guess this was the expansion right after DoD. Just biased as it generates dragons and pushed a dragon/control/value archetype
Hearthstone makes more money than most AAA games do per year.
Now this is interesting, if only we saw the stats on how much money HS is making, but doubt we ever will.
Overall all the points above are very interesting and it's a pity they aren't this transparent all the time. It's totally understandable now why Mercs is in the state it is in, purely coz now we know Team 5 didn't expect players to finish content in a week and collect excess coins so quickly.
That said, if you haven't yet seen this round 6 game from Masters Tour Onyxia's Lair, you absolutely should witness these special moments of random magic.
Blizzard does change these dates sometimes, think they did that for the Wailing Caverns mini-set when Mercs was released which delayed the release date of the Deadmines mini-set. But to be fair, we do have 58 days to buy the Onyxia lair mini-set, so it's not too bad.
Also hope this means the next expansion is launched on the 5th
Well, same can be said about streaming services, there's Netflix, Disney+, Amazon Prime etc and worse, you have to pay a subscription for each. Also, it'd be a scary world if there was just 1 game launcher to rule them all (like Steam) coz monopolies in general are bad.
So I was playing a murloc synergistic party list with 1 or 2 level 1 pirates to level them up, Voone wasn't in my party. I was mainly playing Cookie, Murk-eye and Mutanus and after 2 PVE matches I got the tasks completed for both Murk-eye and Voone
Going back and reviewing, your only incorrect predictions are for DH and Frenzy for Warrior, so well done on the rest of the predictions, fortuneteller Avalon, Madame Lazul would be proud
Kazakusan is probably the most flavorful card this set. He definitely sticks to the "most interesting card mechanics" like the previous Kazakus cards. Also glad to see they've toned down the mana cheating a bit (taking Cora's comment about Bracing Cold into consideration).
Overall super hyped for this mini-set, heavily biased though - dragons are always awesome!
Raid Boss Onyxia isn't really a finisher but more a value/board control minion. Decks like Guff Ramp Druid and Control Priest will use her to stall the end game and wipe out big threats. She is susceptible to hard removal like Shadow Word: Death but with all the Rush, she's a very proactive legendary. Also another thing to note is random 10-cost summon effect like with Primordial Protector, she'll just be an 8/8 with rush, no immune

Top 3 for AoO
Augmented Porcupine: I really wanted control hunter to be a thing, and the idea of buffing this beast up and having it clear the board once dead was just the perfect board clear design that never worked out.
Zixor, Apex Predator: Same as Porcupine, such an awesome control/value card, and I loved buffing Zixor Prime with Dire Frenzy.
Skeletal Dragon: Such a boring name for this card but guess this was the expansion right after DoD. Just biased as it generates dragons and pushed a dragon/control/value archetype

Very insightful stuff here
All the best for your new journey and endeavors Ben
PS: I'm pretty certain he's joined the new blizzard IP survive game team: https://news.blizzard.com/en-us/blizzard/23768911/create-a-new-universe-with-us
Well said, that game was just bonkers 🤣

Imagine having Prince Keleseth added to the Core set for this year. Would definitely spice things up!
This article is two great 😜
22nd of Fed is both a palindrome and an ambigram. The date will be read the same from left to right, right to left AND upside down!
Just a guess, but maybe something cosmetics related, like the duels mate or card back/sleeves

I had a bug that actually benefited me funny enough. Was doing Old Murk-Eye's Finvasion task and it also completed one of Warmaster Voone's tasks.
Thanks for this trick, the damn windowed mode was driving me crazy
I'm surprised nobody is talking about the tragedy...

It'll only be 45 dragons 😜15 of them being legendary. It'll be fine...

If it had taunt as well, it'd be bonkers. Against hyper aggressive decks, it might be just too slow.
