  • Cute, but this is not the card to solve all the mana cheating in hearthstone. Play this with a smirk, and your opponent then proceeds to wipe it off your face with but one card that may not even cost less than 2 anyway. Worse still, against non-combo decks this is just a trash card.

The only redeeming feature this card has is that its a dragon, and a very cheap one. So if youre building menagerie or dragon decks then you might want to look at this as a possible option

Far as being a tech card is concerned, just play cult neophyte, a card that at very least has decent stats while doing the disruption bit fairly similarly. Only way this card sees play is that we get some sort of mozaki deck back in standard.

  • Will only see play in mech decks and nowhere else. Poor stats for its cost, no rush or taunt, and the fact that most magnetize mechs tend to cost more than 2 means you're playing a 6 mana do nothing which will usually get you killed.

Only positive being that its an incredibly small pool of cards, so you'll likely going to get something good. But its also equally serving an very specific niche and that is mechs. If you dont have mechs in your deck, dont bother.

  • Dont really feel anything either way, but I dont like the idea of merging big businesses together. Increasing bureaucracy, and the fact that microsoft doesnt have a good track record of making good games is perhaps more concerning, but having one massive company in control of so many things is never a good thing.

Its bad enough that they practically monopolizes the OS industry, wouldn't want to see blizz be dragged into cold storage for an eternity because some blue suits dont know how to manage their gaming portfolio.

  • Finley is currently one of the most skill testing card, and often enough with the least win play rates. And no ones going to keep finley in the mulligan, a dead card, until your opponent smirked for 5+ turns putting your cards down your deck.

Im ranting of course. But even rationally, I cant see what this card was designed for. Yes, there are people who like to play decks which does nothing other than screwing their opponents, with little to no consideration of actually winning, but is these the kind of players team5 wants to cater to?

  • Well, seems like Rustrot Viper's stock just went sky high

Its Kazakus, Golem Shaper but it gives you a weapon instead of a minion. And that's actually the sticking point here. Weapons tend to be good when youre ahead, or you're playing aggro, they are seldom ever good when they cost more than 3 and youre playing from behind. And yet that's exactly what this card is doing, putting you behind, and giving you expensive weapons.

And then there's the condition. You need to play forge cards, and we still dont know how many of them are, but what is certain is that you need to give away at least 2 mana prior to playing this, further diminishing your tempo play.

Still think it'll see play, but to me its not likely to replicate the same impact kazakus has on its heyday.

  • Well, this is an unfun card to face against.

I think its pretty clear that effects like these will only serve to annoy, not make the game more fun for both sides, nor will it actually make the game more interesting. What this card does is essentially trolling the opposition, that theres a chance that their win con has now been practically yeeted out of the game. So I ask: What the fuck is this card being designed to accomplished?

Its another one of those bizarre decisions on top. If its good, its toxic and will be nerfed. If its bad then no one will bother playing it. So who is this card being made for?

  • Algalon the Observer will likely be one of the most obnoxious card ever printed, simply because it places no restriction other than 1 mana to immediately cap your opponent on the knee. Imagine sending the opponent's win con down the line, and your opponent having absolutely no way to get it back or for that matter, know that their win con has been practically stripped from their deck.

Its going to be this expansion's Tickatus at very least, and at its very worst it'll be this expansion's Theotar, the Mad Duke. Either way, I fully expect this card to get nerfed, if for nothing more than being a card that's unimaginably annoying to face against.

I mean, look. If your opponent is playing blood control and they play this on 4. Yes, if your hand is shit you might as well just concede straight away. With enough algalons in the meta you might even just uninstall the game.

  • I was actually laughing when I saw the meta decks for twist yesterday and found much to my amusement that Drakefire Amulet guarantees haleh because there's no neutral minions.

Not sure if team5 would make further bans or changes, more likely they'll just change the rules. They cant very well allow us full dust refunds every 2 weeks just because twist is slowly becoming a toxic waste dump filled with combo decks similar to low MMR wild.

Edit: Oh, and I might as well comment on Solid Alibi. Yes that card definitely needs some sort of change. Hoping that it'll prevent damage up to a certain max, because whenever mage has a combo deck this card will invariably irritate everyone around it.

  • Just wanted to make sure that my voting was received. Wouldn't want to miss out on 6 packs because of a technical error either on my part or blizz's.

  • Is that one pack granted immediately? Or do we have to see the results before receiving any?

  • Possibly the worse of the bunch.

I dont know what team5 is thinking with this card. Why the fuck is this card costing the same as Norgannon, Golganneth, the Thunderer, Khaz'goroth, and Aggramar, the Avenger have less stats than all of them, have less impact, and being the only one that requires other minions on board to get any sort of value?

Looks more like a card that got clipped before launch.

  • I think team5 expected the community to do so, having players buzzing over the game is a win for them no matter the price. And the price here is a laughable 3 packs of which wouldn't count for much in the grand scheme of things.

Yes, everyone will and should vote for sargeras. Why give up 3 packs for an insubstantial pick.

  • Man, I thought Khaz'goroth is poor, this thing however takes that shitty cake.

Well, so what do we have here? A titan that needs other minions to work, can't attack until all abilities are exhausted, and has laughable stats even after upgrades. Khaz isn't that great because he doesn't play to warrior's strengths (whatever the fuck that may be), but this card does even worse by not playing to rogue's strengths and then doesn't really accomplish anything other than a paltry increase in stats.

Cant help but think that this card wouldn't see play and would very likely be buffed because look at this pile of dung here. Crabatoa is tons better by comparison, able to play on its own, and still do at least 4 extra damage whatever ability you choose. Bizarre that you can't even give this taunt on the third ability. Like seriously team5, will giving it taunt break the game?

  • Sonic the hedgehog is probably one of the prime examples of what marketing and franchising can do to build up an empire, irrespective of the result of the game (or games) of which he is based upon.

Let's be real here, the games (yes, even the good ones sonic 2 and 3) are pretty shitty. You can finish most of the levels (if not all of them) simply pressing the right button, jumping when required, and most of its enemies are completely optional, requiring almost no nonce to beat, nor offer any interesting mechanics.

I really feel the game is bogged down by the character's theme of running, making entire level designs feel more like a rube golberg machine rather than offering anything remotely interesting. Sonic isn't much a platforming game as much as it is a spectacle runner. Hence why whenever youre asked to actually play the game (like in Sonic 3d, or certain parts of sonic 2 & 3) the game falls flat.

To further illustrate my point. Playing as Tails completely invalidate entire levels. I seem to remember certain levels farcically allowing me to just fly past entire sections.

I find it funny how most people look back on the genesis age of sonic and think its gameplay still holds up. If anything, I think the game is nostalgia bait, inferior to many games Ive played as a kid on the megadrive. There are games that are great even today (like the streets of rage series), comically broken (batman forever will forever hold that throne), and then there are games that are stunningly beautiful but mechanically shallow (most disney platformers would fit in here). Sonic, however, to me is neither of those things. The sonic franchise remains alive today inspite of its games, from solid and very strong marketing, and the fact that its japanese overlords simply refuses to let the franchise die a natural death.

I grew up with sonic, love the old 90s cartoons, its ever expanding entourage of similar designed woodland creatures. But I always felt it a bit strange how so much obsession are placed in any of its games, most of which are crap.

  • The Primus is kinda a weird one. Its doing everything you want from DK, and yet he neither snowballs competently and can't be said to finish games on his own. Jack of all trades, master of none I guess.

All of his abilities play certain roles, there's none that standout. I guess the fairest assessment I can make is to say that he'll see play in every DK deck but wont really be the win con of that deck. You dont build around this card, the card simply gets in because it can.

  • Befitting his previous title as the pantheon's champion, sargeras here is pretty good, in fact he might actually turn out to be the best titan in this set.

Summoning two 3/2 imps every turn is pretty much going to kill any and all control decks by itself. Giving these imps +2 health and taunt ensures that your opponent cant beat you without massively outvaluing your deck (something that's unlikely against late game warlock) or have burn damage in hand.

In short summary, play sargeras, choose legion invasion! and the game might as well be over. Sargeras doesn't need to snowball, he wins outright with but one choice. On top of that all, he has 12 health.

The only downside is the fact that he's only ever good if you trigger that battlecry, meaning Dirty Rat can actually counter him.

  • Just amazing. I was wondering what team5 was going to do because sargeras is obviously a demon and there's tons of ways for warlock to cheat out demons early. So they made him completely worthless without triggering the battlecry. Or at least that's what I assume his battlecry is going to do: summon a twisting nether portal, of which his powers will then work with.

So. Is this a good titan? Possible one of the best if Im honest, simply because you can pick the option to buff the two imps into 3/4 taunts, ensuring that without burn damage your opponent has little to no chance against you. That alone is enough to win games.

Maybe team5 would introduce a card that would further buff minions from twisting nether portals, or have one that summons a portal to begin with, so its possible to cheat sargeras out early without losing too much of his power. We'll have to see.

  • Well, this one's a no brainer. Perhaps the only titan that's more threatening because of its card effect than any of its three titan powers.

Being able to discount a spell every turn is basically insane enough. Combined with the ability to deal 3 damage to enemies and heal for 6? Well, that's just immediately game over for aggro decks.

The only problem with golganneth is that he only really has one good titan power and the others are pretty much meh, meaning he doesn't snowball as well as the other titans. But still, you'd never leave him alive the turn after he's played. The mana discount per turn alone is more than enough motivation to get rid of him as soon as possible.

  • Its a 7 mana titan that snowballs, and must be killed because it grants lifesteal. And on top of that it has 9 health and spawns a bunch of taunts with rush/lifesteal.

Basically speaking, there's no reason whatsoever this doesn't see play in any and all dhunter decks. The only question is whether to use show of force or arganite army as your first choice. The latter being very good tempo and protects argus himself for a second turn, and the former being mana cheating. Probably taunts over mana cheating to be honest, there's just no obvious combo available aside from a now nerfed steno.

Hopefully team5 isn't dumb enough to actually print out toxic combo cards for dhunter in this expansion.

  • Well, there's an obvious discussion over Argus' ability to discount minions by 2, so let us go over a few details regarding the topic, in standard. Not going to discuss wild, because that's a cess pool that requires entire articles on.

    - There's no obvious OTK scenarios arising from cheaper minions in dhunter except for Steno, who has been nerfed. Yes, its still possible to conduct that OTK with support cards but that would mean holding on to at least 2 dead cards in hand with a bunch of spells and argus for a turn 8 OTK. Judging by the meta currently, Im doubtful the win rate would be anything good.

    - Mana cheating for spells are significantly more toxic than minions. There's no more brann, so there's no chance of your opponent playing a ton of cards while you helplessly watch.

    - If for whatever reason you've chosen to use show of force, that means youre not using arganite army, which to me is significantly stronger on 7. I think we'll likely see more of the latter rather than the former.

    - And lastly its a 7 mana card setup. Most decks would be well on the course of beating you by then. And you still have to actually draw argus, further diminishing any OTK consistency.

Unless team5 shits the bed again, Im fairly confident that the mana cheating from argus wouldn't result in an OTK on 8.
