  • Im not getting the packs after 2 hours, anyone with the same problem?

  • The harsh reality is that new nozdormu isn't good. In fact its quite terrible in constructed, which is why no one is playing it in any serious capacity. Yes, its fun and all memeing about, but where rank is concerned no one can blame anyone else for not deliberately gimping their game for extra xp and fluff points.

Team5 already shown how much they care by dedicating a day to old noz, giving us about 500 extra xp. If they really want noz to be an actual card, all they needed to do is to make him cost 5 (which honestly still wouldn't make him a staple even in most aggro decks) or extend the timer to 15 seconds and make it so it triggers if the opponent isn't also playing noz in their deck.

  • Generous enough to be appreciated, but not generous enough to give us lich king packs instead. Oh well, 10 packs is 10 packs, and Ive drunken all the milk at home just in case.

  • To be fair, not many of the core cards saw any play, even after being buffed. And team5 have explicitly set out that their main objective is to get players to play the current expansion cards. So I can see why they largely retained the old core set, and selectively put out a few nostalgia cards like Wild Pyromancer and Acolyte of Pain

They'll likely just make selective removals and additions once again. Wouldn't be surprised since its a lot easier on them to do so. Then again, Im not exactly upset even if that's the case. The only item on my wishlist would be for them to not include Overgrowth and Nourish into core next year.

  • Im not really a fan of removing brann until next year, but I concede its the most efficient way to correct a good deal of wrongs. Although it wont address some core fundamental issues, and it does make the game slightly less enjoyable because when brann is used for something other than scamming wins, he's very well darn fun.

That said the impact is likely to be limited to a few classes, namely druid. Because it is only because of brann that druid has a win con that cannot reliably be interacted with. Couple that with insane ramp, card draw, and 40 health the deck can never lose the late game, only vulnerable within the first 5 turns. Removing brann means druid has to fight for board, and likely turn to Kazakusan or The Jailer. Both of which are nowhere near the levels afforded by Sire Denathrius and now Astalor Bloodsworn

The only other deck that will suffer would be blood DK, who needs both alexandros and patchwerk to win any games, both of which rely on brann in those greed matchups. But you can conceivably just play zola in brann's spot anyway.

Likely team5 wouldn't do anything to brann until rotation, which is coming in 4 months time. In my opinion there are more cards that deserves more attention, like Sinstone Graveyard, jerry rig into nourish, blood DK cards, etc.

  • I know guff is being targeted hard for the supposedly broken-ness of having more than 10 mana, but honestly, to me the biggest offender to all of this bs is actually 5 mana Nourish, and Jerry Rig Carpenter tutoring this card.

Because if they get jerry rig on 2, ramp on 3, and nourish on 4, youre now officially 4 mana behind and your board is likely going to be removed by scales. Let's imagine that nourish is 6 and there's no brilliant way of tutoring this shit card then druid has to actually play defensive instead of hyper greeding the game.

Guff may break it in the late game, but to me it is druid's early ramp nonsense that really makes it a viable deck against all but the most aggressive aggro deck. In fact, if you can make a minion stick past the first Scale of Onyxia, chances are good you've just won the game.

Besides, removing guff and they switch easily to celestial alignment anyway. The same reason why I think nerfing anubrakhan helps fuck all. Brann nerf is the most sensible, but I hate to nerf one card just because one class is abusing it.

  • Sire Denathrius in my opinion isn't really as broken as everyone think it is, not since Kael'thas Sinstrider was nerfed anyway. That's because most normal decks only ever juices him to about 15-20 damage, with the most severe requiring him to be in your hand since turn 1.

The biggest problem is actually druid's usage of the sire. No other deck abuses Sire Denathrius better than druid, and ramp druid features a gameplay that consistently allows them to ramp somewhere around 4 mana above your own from turn 5, on top of having guff doubling their mana available. All this, and Sire Denathrius more or less always being the win con, makes the atmosphere toxic. Enabled by the sire sure (druids really dont need to care what their opponent is doing as long as sire is not sniped), but the original sin must surely lie with the class itself.

Nerfing sire was unfortunately, but necessary, because he is in fact featuring in a lot of decks, especially XL decks. And without this nerf I dont see that trend ever changing until rotation. Brann is another offender, but substantially less problematic...outside of druid. Is team5 going to continue nerfing everything around druid, missing the problem at every corner, or is druid somehow going to get away with murder for the next 3 expansions? Only time will tell.

  • Effectively start of game effects are randomly chosen to trigger at the start of the game. So half the time your sycthe will prevent you from triggering renathal. A known feature since darkmoon.

Ive played a good deal of spell dhunter and I think I can say with some confidence that you dont really need the extra health or cards. Unleash Fel + arcanist will easily gain at least 9 health most of the time anyway and there's always the weapon. Besides, if you were to put in renathal then youre removing arcanist from the pool, which I think is counterproductive.

  • To be fair, druid can be beaten. Ive gone pure pally for a massive divine shield minion fairly consistently, one that resisted the usual turn 5 scales and from there they're just dead. The biggest problem here is that by dedicating yourself to beating druid you're inevitably going to be destroyed by another deck, which in this case is blood DK, nearly auto wins against aggro.

Plaguespreader is an actual card in deathrattle priest. I tried it and its effective and all, but you just get destroyed by other decks like hunter or dhunter. Its actually inconsistent against druid itself because often enough the card only ever snipes one card off my opponent's hand before I die. It really doesn't take alot to be taken down by brann + denathrius turns out.

Druid as it is currently should simply never be allowed to be tier 1. Blood DK is another hot mess, more for what it does to the meta than the deck itself, but that's a tale for another day.

  • Not exactly a surprise, especially for hunter. Shockspitter can and will end games really quickly making each game more like racing than actual tempo. Im afraid with this nerf, face hunter will simply cease to be, because in constructed nowadays its bizarrely being outdone in terms of face damage by quite a number of decks.

Speaking of which, is Sinstone Graveyard not going to be looked at? Or are we normalizing getting destroyed by stealth 9/9s or 10/10s by turn 4-5?

But as for Sire Denathrius, it will at least resolve one major problem in the game, and that's having to see the sire everywhere and in every late game. This effectively murders him, unfortunately, to all decks but druid because in case anyone else has not noticed it, druid spams token so well its literally juicing sire denathrius better than actual decks playing minions in it. Seriously though, I wouldn't be too surprised to still see him in druid decks, prompting yet another exclamation: that this patch doesnt do shit to address the core fundamental issue which is ramp druid's gameplay is toxic as fuck

Because the deck only ever loses to itself. Ramp druid doesn't lose because it got pressured, it losses whenever it can't ramp exactly on curve. Jerry Rig Carpenter on 2, Wild Growth on 3, Nourish on 4 into scales and then from there its just flavor of the day. So with Sire Denathrius nerfed, we may now witness the stupidity that is brann + Astalor Bloodsworn. Or better yet. Brann+ Anubrakhan + Astalor. All done in one turn for 60+ damage.

Oh yes, let's give the class more mana cheat akin to celestial alignment, more health gain. Not OP enough perhaps, then let's also give it 4/6 taunts that come out for free. Who the fuck is designing these druid cards, seriously.

  • Well deserved I think.

Diablo immortal should in no way shape or form be part of this discussion at all.

  • Day 1, not a very good experience.

Why? Because if youre not shat on by druid and their insidious ramp and armor gain, then youre being made to watch your own suffering as you go against blood DK with their endless healing. Trying to beat druid by playing aggro, get destroyed by blood DK, and vice versa. I get that its day 1 but seriously, this is rock paper scissors at its very peak.

In the middle of this all, is Sire Denathrius and Prince Renathal. I dont know what team5 has planned but at some point something has got to be done about this duo. Because I dont think its ever likely they will be dropped until rotation.

Blood DK gets a pass because its a new class and say what we will that deck still needs Patchwerk to carry it. But for druid this is inexcusable. Are we to endure yet another year of repeated iterations of the same bs; turn 2 jerry rig, turn 3 wild growth, turn 4 nourish, turn 5 scales, and from there its just brann+denathrius or bust. Now made easier with anubrakhan. Rinse and repeat, the entire game is determinant on playing Jerry Rig Carpenter on 2. And no, printing 5 disruption cards per expansion isn't going to change shit.

I think 90% of my games today are just these two. The other 10% are brave souls that actually play something that's not druid or DK.

  • I think the reason is because arthas was supposed to return to northrend to fight illidan, hence why the convoluted order.

  • Well, seems like the packs are reportedly giving up legendaries like candy...and it got disabled fast, faster than I could take advantage of it myself. Real nice blizz, please do the same with the other* 'less important' bugs too.

Not exactly how Id like to start the new expansion. Hence I shall remind myself to open packs first and ignore any and all damn prologues in future.

  • Quote From h0lysatan

But if anything, my single opinion was, it's not gonna be here for a lot longer. The signs is there, The game is old, and Marvel Snap getting more popular than ever. Dean and some known designer is already out, the total playable cards is already very hard to keep track as it is (almost 5000 I assume), the platform is old and no longer fit for 3 massive game modes for mobiles, etc

Unless they make a significant move to upgrade the game, I couldn't see any future with this. Along with everyone worthless collections. Yeah, in the end, everyone buying the bundles won't get their money value back.

Well, simple stats seem to show that SNAP is still a minnow, at around 6k monthly players whereas hearthstone's are about over 4 million, with at least 100,000 players active at any given time.

LoR has been here a while and despite the fact that its substantially less expensive and feature a more attractive art style (debatable, but I seem to think so) its still somewhere around half of hearthstone's players.

In other words, yes hearthstone is nowhere near as popular in its peak 6 years back its still the best card game in terms of active users, or at least one of the best, around. SNAP is faster and more appealing because of its mobile-friendly nature, but I doubt its ever reaching hearthstone's level of success, at least not without significant changes to its monetization model.

If ever hearthstone gets 'old' it'll just be refreshed ala Overwatch, into hearthstone 2. Lets be honest here, that's likely a reality maybe in 6 years time. As long as it keeps pumping out money its unlikely to ever die.

  • Duels got murdered in my opinion.

Giving out buckets per expansion means there's really no more insane strats, because at some point in the run you're basically playing arena. Sure, duels usually go out looking like everyone's playing a combo deck, but at least its a different taste compared to constructed or arena.

Oh well, at least you still get a nice first 3 games before getting bogged down by shit.

  • Well, whatever you're saying is not inaccurate, but also fairly futile, because this is the state of blizz today. Its actually a very junior partner in terms of revenue, third place to king (and the ridiculously easy money they get off candy crush) and activision, despite its much more impressive history and IPs. Hearthstone is indeed an easy way to milk money because unlike other games you can't exactly play hearthstone without buying into at least a portion of its expansions - unless you like seeing your face explode all the time.

As for what is the acceptable amount of cash you should drop to that giant maw of a company, well, that's really up to the individual player. I usually pay for the rewards track and that's about it. Sometimes I drop another 20 bucks their way for 20 (+ 2 extra lengendaries) packs but never over that amount. I get more than enough dust to play all the tier 1-2 decks doing that.

The path of arthas set is definitely something I don't support, because Im asked to pay yet another 20 bucks for a set that is practically mandatory to play DK at all. The alternative is paying somewhere around 3k or more in dust, just to play frost DK which will definitely be tier 1.

That 80 bucks bundle is not worth it, trust me. The 20 bucks bundle is far superior because of the complementary 2 legendaries that comes with it. Preordering bundles are for whales, because anything below that category of homo sapiens will immediately be suffering from buyers remorse.

  • Okay, so I watched the theorycraft stream, and here's my initial impressions;

    Show Spoiler

Concoctions works differently than I thoughts. Turns out the the potions mixed together not on play but on receiving them, making them substantially better. If this works, then Potionmaster Putricide can turn out a lot of value. Meaning my initial review of this card is completely invalid. But as for whether the archetype will work? I think its best in jackpot rogue. Miracle really doesn't need it, at least in my view.

Paladin is good, aggro druid is shit, arcane mage may actually need to be nerfed its basically mozaki mage, shaman is shit, frost DK is completely and utterly broken, blood DK can and will destroy any aggro deck, warlock is janky.

But hunter. Turns out that the arcane build may not actually be shit. In fact, Shockspitter may actually need to be nerfed to 3 because it looks broken as hell. You can easily win by turn 6, and with brann there's really no upper limit as to how much damage this thing can do in a game. Conjured Arrow is one hell of a card.

DK is going to rule the roost week 1, I really hope team5 implements a way to tell the runes slotted because you'll never know what DK youre facing and they can be so polarizing in strat that a wrong mulligan can ruin you.

  • I cant see how to be honest.

The idea was that you'd unlock the demon hunter initiate set by playing the prologue but would not be able to play them until AoO launches. From a player perspective its perfectly clear. But from backend, perhaps the coding is too complicated, causing internal problems. I cannot imagine this to be a player problem, rather than a coding problem.

  • Id imagine all the problems are coming from their end, because it makes perfect sense for us to unlock the class before the expansion starts.

Or alternatively, just make it available from the start without having to go through a prologue, its all fluff anyway. I havent went back or even last thought about the dhunter prologue since the first time I finished it.
