Honestly, this card just eats up your corpses for an effect that most other classes do without conditions at 5 mana. The only thing commendable about this card is that it'll very likely clear board regardless of deathrattle etc. But at a price of a chunk of your corpses, about 3-5 on average I'd reckon.
You'll probably be forced to play it if youre going for blood. But its not amazing unless youre generating tons of corpses, which I doubt blood decks can do, or want to do, easily.
There might be an argument here that Spammy Arcanist is simply the better card. But if blood decks don't really use corpses anyway, then this card eating it all up might not even be contentious.
On paper this card is amazing because its like giving paladin, one of the most vulnerable class, a cheaper and better Houndmaster Shaw
But the reality is that this card is limited by its scope. You can buff it so it covers more minions, but that means spending more mana which isn't something you want to do defensively. And at 3 base attack its only ever rushing out 1-2 drops which isn't amazing.
Still, I've always said that paladin's inability to affect tempo is the one weakness of the class in the current standard. This card patches some parts of that, even if imperfectly.
Unless hunter gets very good reasons to tutor arcane spells this card is just useless.
2 mana to draw a card that only adds +1 damage. If there isn't a card that scales with spell damage this card is just draw 1 for 2 mana, which is just bad. Not to mention that there current isn't really alot of arcane spells you want to tutor out from hunter.
Its basically Arcane Shot for mage which can get slightly better if ever such a card in a deck can reach 8 mana without the game ending.
There is competition in First Flame, which is straight up better than this card. But this can hit face, and if ever you needed arcane spells this card is as easy as it gets. Cheap, effective, and hits face. Maybe bring back quest mage? Hopefully never.
Im fairly convinced that most if not all DK cards are adjusted so they are better than average and this card is just it. 3 mana spidertank that must be removed, and since most of what DK does will generate undead boards this card will more often than not draw at least 2 cards. And even if it doesn't, youre still curving out with a spidertank.
Frost unholy for both the big undead boards and this card seems a very nice combo.
The next identity of dhunter requires you to play no minions apparently. Is 5 mana 9/9 stats good enough? Probably only if there's a win con that requires the same condition. Because otherwise I wouldn't cripple my deckbuilding just so this can work. We're long away from the days where even a fully charged Emerald Spellstone can threaten to end games.
These days, a 5 mana card would need to at least be able to generate a big board with little conditions, or otherwise need at least be able to affect the board. The conditions of this card though...needs further convincing.
Just a poor card that comes with conditions to even be decent. On its own, its just unplayably bad. Imagine slotting this over Clownfish on 3. Yeah, not happening.
The only way this even sees remotely any play is for the 1-2 undead drops being so good that this might as well be 3 mana double 3/2. Even then I'm doubtful because in what world will undead take over from murlocs when clownfish is this good?
This card is just plain average to be honest, unless there's a really powerful undead 1 drop that must be removed or it snowballs.
Because outside of curving on turn 2, this card doesn't really do too much other than being a nuisance. And you really got to debate whether youre holding this on turn 2 just so it can get value. Can get better, but more likely it'll get sidelined by other less conditional cards.
Wouldn't surprise me in the slightest if Im honest. In a world where theotar is playable, this will always be a possibility.
All they needed to do was to discard instead of swapping cards. That will immediately remove theotar as a win con and solve just about all the problems the entire community has about this card.
Thanks for clarifying it. At least it can be crafted, but kinda sucks that you cant get it from packs, given how many dupes you get from commons and rares anyway.
As for the rune system, Im more than prepared to give it a chance. Its all in the implementation, and we dont have the full list yet. But I would be stunned if a viable deck coming out of the system isn't already fully figured out by the devs rather than by pros, as most of the more impressive decks tend to be. It reminds me kinda of mech mage and pally, where the 30 card list is more or less 90% figured out on day one by sole virtue of its tag.
Its rather unfortunate to suffer an attack during such a major event, one that only ever happens once perhaps every two years.
But nevertheless, its nice to know there's somewhere I can go just to see all the revealed cards, rather than scrolling reddit's deep pits.
Im a little skeptical about the rune system, because it doesn't really encourage diverse deckbuilding, more like streamlining certain cards towards certain decks. Like how certain cards like overseer frigidara would only ever be in frost decks even if it can easily be in other rune decks. And if you're going to play a frost deck, you'll always have frostwrym's fury in it, why wouldn't it? Even the archetype is more or less determined by design; you'll never really play an aggro frost deck, even if frostwyrm's fury is perfectly legitimate an addition into any aggro deck.
What the rune system does allow, is an easier time for devs to create and balance decks while having very powerful effects like vampiric blood. But only time will tell if this system ends up a success story for future classes to emulate.
As for the path of arthas set...my wallet doesn't like it. I feel stuff like these should be part of core, or at least obtainable via packs/dust. Events post microsoft takeover is starting to stink, and I hope hearthstone doesn't get any more expensive as it is.
Signature cards though, are as cool as they are completely optional. That's fine for me. But I do pity those omega whales who now have to drop god knows how much more to get all 18 of those things every expansion.
I think youre splitting hairs here to be honest. If playing dhunter is like sprinkles of hunter and rogue but not quite, is there really something wrong here? Rush warrior is like handbuff pally mixed with hunter rush cards, aggro druid is like zoolock with buffs, mech mage and mech pally might as well be the same thing with two different cards between them. Similar stuff but different playstyles.
Hunter has token rush cards like Swarm of Locusts and Springpaw but these are usually used defensively whereas dhunter's token cards are offensive in nature. Rogue has weapon buffs, dhunter has hero attack synergies. Yes, you can make an argument that its just the same thing with a different hat on, but if they play differently then fair enough I think.
I think team5 have made very good and successful attempts at making dhunter distinct. Quest dhunter, and the current vomit dhunter are distinct playstyles that has no other comparisons. Even its true weakness; freezing face, is something no other classes suffers quite as badly as dhunter does.
There's really only so much we can do before it start looking like a copy of something done before. If DK features self freezing synergies I wouldn't call it an infringement into mage's identity just because it also uses freeze effects. Its all about how team5 handles the playstyles to me.
Alright, I can confirm that you dont get the packs for watching today because youtube isn't connected. Waited two hours and nothing. Hopefully it gets fixed tomorrow, and not leave to the last day.
I will fully admit that Ive not played overwatch 2 as yet (and to be honest would probably never will, just dont have the time and theres better games), but I have been keeping tabs on it from launch because I was stunned to see it now f2p and was interested in its progress since the last time I touched OW1.
Grinding, monetization and some form of phone verification controversy aside, OW2 had a frankly terrible start, with reportedly hours of queuing, being DDoS twice, people complaining (likely unfairly) about tanks, innumerable bugs, and how some characters have to be unlocked if you dont have OW1. Its a blizz sequel so Im not all that surprised at the number of players, but it is surprising how many problems are propping up. You wouldn't think it a good idea to release a game as big as this one in such a state and yet here we are.
A week ago, there's apparently issues with matchmaking, and as we speak there's talk of long queue times because apparently (to no one's surprise) there's not many players wanting to play support.
All this is not to say that it wont be eventually fixed and OW2 making good in future (5v5, and removing most if not all of the CC is probably a step in the right direction) but this is not how I imagine OW2 to be like. OW1 was a resounding success that practically defined the hero shooter genre - its sequel is currently looking more like a cheap derivative with no new defining ideas of its own except living off the name of its predecessor.
It might actually be possible, assuming activision-blizz wants to make a statement both financially and in the gaming world within 2022.
Overwatch 2 is, from what Ive heard and read, a massive let down, currently problematic in all areas. Diablo 4 is a long way ahead, and the less said about immortal the better. Why not a something big in hearthstone to perk up the financial year? And what is bigger than a new DK class?
It might be weird to insert a DK class out of nowhere with less cards than all the other classes, but as we have seen with dhunter's release, you dont need alot of cards to make a lot of archetypes, and certainly it has no bearing on powerlevels. It might also herald the 4 expansions per year thing a lot better than it would otherwise.
Havent noticed it myself, having played some amount of mercs recently.
Its very likely you've set the equipment in general and not in the specific deck. It works the same way as the portraits, you can set different stuff for different decks. Even if youve selected a merc that's not chosen while having a deck up, it'll record it for that.
Anyone found out how to complete the suspicious minion achievements? Obviously the idea is that you're supposed to successfully fool your opponent but its not triggering even when that happens.
I read somewhere that it only triggers if you're fooled, i.e. your opponent has to actually play it (good luck with that, suspicious pirate is unseen throughout the last three months). Anyone can confirm this?
Also, Framester is a card that should never be good. Ive played this in wild for fun and achievements. Got plenty of laughs at my opponent's expense. Im not even trying to win, but if you pull it off, your opponent can easily skip two turns for nothing. Just so cancerous to suffer through I'd imagine.

Probably something down the line to be revealed.

This is just Deathmatch Pavilion and will likely end up like it too.

Wouldn't songstress Aranna be technically a friendly skin for dhunters? Saves 20 bucks on the way as well.
I havent actually tested it since a month back, so I guess its fixed now. That's nice.

Still funny to see a full board clear take up 6 minutes waiting for the game to remind us of all the deathrattles one by one.
