Since there's no solo adventure for this expansion, chances are this is merely a theme, never meant to be concluded. I highly doubt the midset would suddenly just spring a killer out of nowhere.
And besides which, Im not even aware its possible to even kill something that's technically neither alive nor dead.
The one important thing about saving the quests for the next expansion is so you get the free legendary within the same week. That way you make better informed choices of what to craft.
As for the idea of not logging in...well, that's really down to individuals really. A free epic from Nathria might be worth it, but is it worth not flipping the low roll quests, or preping your quests, or playing a few games worth about 80-120xp each win or lose? In my opinion, its not. You'll likely earn enough xp for 50-100 gold playing casually for two days and that's worth more than a random epic.
Pretty sure day one meta would have warlock, druid, mage and hunter be top tiers. Aggro decks present would be the usual mech decks, shadow priest, and dhunter, which would probably sweep anything unoptimized. But firmly Im sure warlock would be on top, at least for the first two weeks.
There would be plenty of Kael'thas Sinstrider I think, because of its interaction with brann + win con. Probably why it costs 6 instead of 7. Will it be nerfed? Dont think so, at least for the time being. For my own part, Im probably going all in mad duke shaman.
At this point its a little late to do anything useful. Most of us would have already gotten and finished up the weeklies by now, and the dailies can be deferred until next week when the expansion hits next tuesday.
One thing I would say that scares me; play 30 infuse cards. Like seriously. Hopefully this means play the base cards and not the infused versions. I remember they did this shit in darkmoon with the corrupt cards and unsurprisingly its the least popular weekly quest even to constructed players.
So team5 removes some of the broken passives and in comes something infinitely more sinister.
Get the one that spawns a volatile skelly for each minion killed with a spell. Chances are good you'll ace 12 wins with it because its completely broken in control decks.
Oh and being able to play the new cards are fine too I guess. Been having some fun in duels not seeing many druids with magic mushrooms anyway.
Bests ones (Garrosh, kelThuzad) are paid skins of course. What a shame. Would have been a great reason to invest in the pass if these two were in there.
Also, I kinda feel team5 should have just given Maiev for free, like they did years ago. Charging 7 bucks for it now? That's expensive, especially given how many choices we have nowadays for skins.
I know there's been requests for auto-opening features, but is this seriously something people want? For me the best part of day 1 is opening my packs and savoring in delight (before ultimately get handed a ticket back to reality and your four legendaries for your 4 months of savings)
Unfortunately I will never truly understand or experience what it feels like to actually possess so many packs that automation becomes a necessity.
The unfortunate reality of abundance is that it gets old, fast. Back even 3 years ago a skin meant a lot because they were scarce, but now with so many flooding in it really does make them all look cheap.
But as a person who plays a load of different decks the many skins at least plays a function, even if its simply for me to keep track of all the different decks I have.
Team5 would do better to use other characters instead of the usual tyrande, svlyvanas, etc. even if they are more popular amongst the community. I would like to see different variations of characters like deathwing, celeste, or sir annoy-o too.
Plaguebringer is probably nerfed because of dhunter. Its ridiculous how that thing can OTK you from any health with naught but 3 cards.
Probably for the best. Shaman has been abusing that thing ever since duels started even before dhunter ruined it.
As for druid and his magic mushrooms, I thought the best nerf was to remove the shuffle but team5 begs to differ. Probably still stronger than most other druid archetypes, and I dont see it disappearing anytime soon.
Its nice of them to actually give out Sire Denathrius for free, instead of Murloc Holmes. In the past, it was always the good legendary being diamond while everyone gets stuck with the meme legendary for free.
And mercifully, the golden epic out on display is not a good one, so I dont have to torture myself crafting it for standard, like I did for School Teacher. Still, I'd have prefer they just remove it from the pack pool and give us the non-golden card by default because it truly sucks to get one of these from packs.
Looks like mercs is getting some powercreep. Health over 90 for selected mercs? And the total damage that can be dished out by anacondra is nuts. Speaking of which, the buff to both guff and anacondra might be positive for pvp, but I feel it completely breaks pve. Now malfurion/guff/anacondra might as well be the new nature bros. Deal extraordinary damage per turn, summon a 15/15, heal for 18 by default, and have a merc that can heal for 15 at any time.
If the watch time required is so short, and the window itself is short, why even bother forcing your community to go all out of their way to do this? Just give us that pack, or at least create some sort of bat/vampire rave that last for 12 hours so everyone on earth can do this realistically.
Couldn't actually even join this because it clashes with my commitments, but I'd be right round pissed if I did and then got screwed because I was 1 minute short.
Having watched the theorycraft stream, there's a few decks I think has potential, and would like to try myself;
Relic token demon hunter - There's some potential in a token dhunter deck with the relic as support. Especially with sinful brand's potential as a finisher.
Wildseed face hunter - Saw how wildseeds work in the theorycraft and it looks strong as hell. Especially considering how bad face hunter was in sunken city, this one has strong potential.
Im almost 100% sure there's going to be at least 30% all playing druids, so at least this one can work well at launch. Somewhat anyway
Skeleton mage - Looks nuts. I was initially cool on the cards Deathborne but if this works its devastating. We all already knew how good Nightcloak Sanctum can be, with two down its almost broken. Probably going to get nerfed if this deck goes up the tier list.
Mad duke shaman - For some reason Ive seen zero Theotar, the Mad Duke being played but this is one deck Im excited to try, if only because I know everyone will be playing druid to some capacity.
Load up your hand with useless junk from schooling and then trade your fishys for great stuff. Worth a laugh if nothing else. This is one legendary I'll be crafting because Im 100% convinced it would be playable in some capacity.
As for individual cards;
Kael'thas Sinstrider - Ive seen plenty of streamers play this card. Seems good even if its nowhere near as insane as its sunstrider cousin. Probably going to try it out myself in token druid and see how that goes.
That 0 attack hiders this so badly its not even a joke. Without something like Totemic Reflections, what is this card aiming to accomplish even if its a 0/10?
The only good thing here is that its a totem, and the fact that in totem shaman your opponent will instinctively kill it with everything they've got regardless of its actual nonexistent threat level.
Of course, you can play it in other classes, and paladin has plenty of buffs. But will you play a minion that will only do something useful after a buff? Unless youre shaman, the answer will likely always be no.
Makes me think that its printed solely to gum up Amalgam of the Deep's totem discovers, so youre not playing 4x Gigantotem by default.
The kind of card you design when youre running on a deadline.
There's no reason to ever expect this to see any play outside of arena. I dont understand why they didn't just make it a bigger Abusive Sergeant. Would have at least been viable instead of being completely crap.
The card that needed to be printed for any form of secret decks to see play. Particularly to mage, because the loss of Kirin Tor Mage practically doomed any secret related deck from existing. Even the mighty explosive runes is tamed by its absence.
And now we have something potentially better, because the effect stays on until a secret is played.

As for week/month one nerf candidates. Probably Impending Catastrophe, Celestial Alignment (again), Harpoon Gun, and Nightcloak Sanctum.

You cant get remornia because the card starts as a minion.
The background is gone. Just a visually displeasing factor which might portend the innumerable bugs that is to come next tuesday.

If I get Kel'Thuzad, the Inevitable, I'll be sure to try this out.

Utterly useless even to totem shaman.

Maybe good enough because aggro decks would play any vanilla 1 drop that boost survivability.
Not much else to say really. Its competing with Beaming Sidekick, but nevertheless possess a niche on its own.
The kind of card you design when youre running on a deadline.

Will see play because why not?
The description reads 'a copy' which implies that it wont be a 0/6 minion when it transforms.
In other words, its 3 mana faceless as long as you can kill the target. Imagine getting a colossal minion out of this, its just nuts.
