  • Just go full spell mage. The only good thing about this brawl is that you only need to win once and then never play this shit again.

Burn face fast if possible. There's likely a celestial druid somewhere that'll ruin your dreams.

  • I'd really rather not see control warrior nerfed at all. The main reason being that its really not that great most of the time. There's just many situations where you curve from 1-4 and put them to exactly buckler into shatter or die. That said, I wouldn't be opposed to some sort of nerf to nellie, because that's practically the only way control warrior scams wins. Otherwise, its a rather unremarkable deck.

Nerfing From the Depths? That's a strange take. The card is mostly harmless until finley is played, and then its true strength is actually value from nellie, rokara, and brann. Most of the time it's just going to hit the many armor cards in warrior and practically do nothing.

Im actually more interested to see team5 do some buffs, because aside from the drekthar issue, this meta is mostly fine. As long as multistrike and drekthar gets addressed, it should allow for more diversity until the mini set shakes things up again.

  • That's nice to hear. It has after all been somewhere around 4 years. Let's hope he finds success, unlike the last major publisher with the marvel license.

I'm stuck at Murlocs vs Popsicooler. A team that's half Murlocs and half Dragons just isn't good enough to take these things down. Didn't get anywhere with Fire or Nature either.

I try to reduce the health of the cart first, but the damage from the rest of the bosses wipes out my team.

Gonna try Orcs next, I guess. Am I missing something?

There's a very old (and crucially budget) build with rokara/samuro/grom. Rokara with the treasure that boost her offensive rally and grom with sash. The key is to get windfury on samuro  and you'll be able to comfortably take down popsicooler in turn 2.

Turn 1, you may destroy the cart, doesn't matter. Turn 2, rokara turns on offensive rally, grom hits popsicooler with shattering slam, and then completely destroy that shit with samuro attacking 4 times. After popsicooler is dead, all else is just fluff.

The problem is of course that you need windfury on samuro or otherwise its going to take 1 more turn and a huge dose of luck. Your backup can easily be murloc build, Murkeye/mutanus/murky (if you have him upgraded this becomes a whole lot easier) or morgl, which is fully capable of taking down popsicooler too, but needs some luck as well. As a backup though, they're still pretty solid.

  • I'd like to agree but Im really hoping team5 doesn't let this off simply because they sold that skin for an absurd price. The problem with nerfing around Drek'Thar is that its simply unsustainable. It really doesn't matter much what 3 drop it summons out, even a mere two spider tanks along with a 4/4 on 4 is just ridiculous.

The correct thing to do is to nerf him so he only summons one minion instead of two. This might end up killing the card, but this is just only of those situations where its close to impossible to merely lower his powerlevel. They can also opt to nerf him to 5 mana, and change the description to summon 2 minions that costs less than 4, but I doubt they'd consider it.

Or perhaps they'd just nerf him to summon only 2 spirit wolves, which will still be good, but nowhere near as good as it is now.

  • Dredge is literally the most successful keyword team5 have made, arguably since discover. Its not merely being able to drag a card from the bottom, its seeing what's at the bottom as well. As far as being unique goes, its unique for hearthstone, and that's good enough for me.

As for colossals. Well, its not mainly limited to being big. Nellie and leviathan are some of the most popular colossals, and their appeal is hardly because of stats alone.

  • 7 mana 8/10 lifesteal with a 1/4, and pseudo rush with 8 healing.

That's not underpowered at 7. At 8 its weaker than every other colossal. I mean, nellie and leviathan are at 7 and for some reason this card is at 8 cost.

The main problem with behemoth has always been the absence of any reason to run it. In control/quest priest at very least its a good 7 drop that procts the quest if nothing else. And for all the shit I throw at this card its still a 8/10 lifesteal minion at the end.

  • Nerfs should be obvious. Just hit Drek'Thar and maybe Multi-Strike. Or reduce Dreadprison Glaive's durabilty from 3 to 2. Those should be more than enough. As for control warrior nerfs Im not a fan. I just dont think any deck that's not aggro will struggle against control warrior.

Buffs are more interesting because its nearly unpredictable. Nearly.

    - Blackwater Behemoth to 7 mana. I mean, its far and away the worst colossal out there. Giving it a mana nerf to 7 makes it more playable while also fitting to quest priest's plans.

    - Buff some murlocs. Bloodscent Vilefin as a 4/5 perhaps. Voidgill to a 1 mana 2/1.

    - Whatever the case, never buff the curse cards. I play this in wild for fun where warlock has no problem drawing cards and the curse cards there are absolutely insane, especially after a discount from rod. This is one mechanic Im sure will get better as warlock have more options available.

Im curious to see what team5 does with drekthar, having sold cosmetic for the card. Let's see if they actually give something back to those who purchased it, or buckle down and ignore the pitchforks.

I'm trying to beat Heroic Drek'Thar to unlock Balinda's equipment. He just keeps kicking my ass. Anyone have a suggestion for this one? I own all Mercs except Rexxar, Garrosh, Sylvanas and Gul'Dan.

Most optimal in my opinion is fire team because of the boost you get from one of the minions. Focus fire on the statue boosting drekthar's speed. Once the statue is dead, you should be on your way to a win courtesy of geddon's massive AoE.

I think I went with Antonidas/Geddon/Cornelius, mainly because cornelius has a good chance of getting a defensive passive over the better taunt in mutanus. ChiJi/Rag for replacement in case antonidas goes down. If Geddon goes down early this might just be unwinnable, unless the statue is dead.

Haven't went there with any other comp, but heroic drekthar is insanely difficult and there's really not many caster teams that can realistically take down the statue fast enough.

  • Until dhunter gets a nerf there's really no chance for rogue at all. Rogue has always struggled against aggressive classes that can burn in the late game and its showing out now. They can't even out tempo the opponent because Prize Plunderer got booted. A turn 4 Drek'Thar almost certainly guarantee death as we speak.

SI rogue could function well against some classes but against control and aggro they'd just have no chance. Too slow against aggro, and control can outlast their damage and more importantly kill those stealth minions.

Deathrattle rogue is not only too slow, it cant maintain tempo and is reliant on very flimsy support. The best list is probably mine rogue, which when the stars align with your draws you can easily win any game, but sadly its so inconsistent it'll never really take off.

I wouldn't say rogue is poor, at least its not as bad a form as priest and warlock. The truth is that pirate rogue is still a solid deck and once dhunter gets nerfed its likely to replicate the win rate it had when druid was on form. I mean hooktusk is already a winner and rogue has shadowstep in addition to being able to generate multiple hooktusks in one game. Its hardly lacking in power.

Perhaps the midset can save it, but Im doubtful. We'll likely have to wait until the next expansion to see rogue in standard be anything more than pirate rogue. Thief rogue may benefit from a few good cards in the midset, but that's about it.

not a task bounty but any tips to fight Lokholar in altrec valley? Just trying to get to rotimer but i am stuck here.

If you got velen and anduin, you can try holy comp which will probably get you there. Or a beast comp with king krush and mukla can cheese this fight.

I havent tried it yet, but there's a possibility that if you have very strong taunt mercs (cornelius and mutanus are probably the strongest) you should be able to easily cheese this with trigore. Worth a try. Especially since its on budget.

Maybe cornelius/trigore/xyrella would be optimal and budget friendly.

i have all of those except Mukla. How would trigore cheese it? right now i am just abusing the monstrous heart treasure, is that it?

Just set trigore in the center and spam backlash while having at least one taunt. Since lokholar attacks multiple times per turn you're essentially pouring damage into him as long as you can keep cornelius up. Just get xyrella to reduce lokholar's damage whenever he's attacking, otherwise keep cornelius healthy.

You dont need monstrous heart. Just ensure that your taunt stays alive and take any treasure that increases trigore's attack.

But if I understand correctly, if you have velen and anduin, then this should be a cake walk with holy comp. Velen/Anduin/Xyrella/Cornelius are the mainstay here.

  • Why bother with test subject? You can easily accomplish this with Sethekk Veilweaver or Nazmani Bloodweaver, or even both. Playing 12 spells by turn 3-4 isn't exactly all that hard for priest, especially after a Palm Reading discount, so you dont necessarily need the Radiant Elemental either.

I dont have list for you, but you can start by looking out the old rally priest from the previous meta before rotation. Add in some good spells like Embalming Ritual and it should be good enough.

  • I mean, to be fair, the movie kinda suck, veering from the original story. And I think the reason is precisely because of the emotional attachment to the original story that it didn't do all that well in western countries compared to asian.

  • Reading Dean's brief response on the bugs after patches, Im not convinced that any testing was done to a satisfactory level. I mean, its explicitly stated that the azshara and nellie bug were fixed but yet day one its coming out. Is there a certain set of conditions that makes the bug appear and apparently QA just missed it out?

Its just unfortunate, but this is the buggiest patch that ever did drop. What scares me is that Im fairly certain this will not be the worse one yet.

  • Its likely something to do with japan's unique fixation with consoles rather than pc games. Warcraft was a revolutionary pc game back then and anyone who played it through to w3 would probably have more emotional investment into the IP than those who did not. Japan is one of those countries that put more emphasis on consoles so its players likely never grew up with warcraft like how many of us did.

I wouldn't be too surprised if asia in general are less into warcraft than western countries. After currency conversion, buying even a midrange pc requires quite a good deal of money, whereas a console is more affordable without any hicks and plays (or used to anyway) immediately without the need for fancy installations.

  • The only thing here that's interesting would be the pricing. At 10 bucks, or 1500 gold, that's a hefty reduction. Don't know what made upper management sign on that design document, but if true then its at very least not really expensive.

Sad thing here would be that its wild only, and we all know the state of wild as it stands. These cards really got to pack a lot to even be remotely viable. Otherwise, its only true attraction would be for die hard wild fans.

I was struggling to beat Dragonbone Golem, and then finally got it with a Frost team... and no task completion. So I either didn't trigger quite enough deathrattles or the boon bug got me.

The conditions are bugged or the wording is all wrong. There's plenty of discussion but after about 3 tries I finally got it. There's a possibility that you have to trigger 10 deathrattles in one turn, not the entire game.

So just let dragonbone fill up his board, then he'll use an ability that grants all minions a deathrattle. After that you may safely AoE all the skeletons away. That's how I did it, not sure if it'll work a second time.

Used a holy team with cornelius. Nearly impossible for the boss to kill your side as you wait for him to setup everything just right. Infuriating to say the least.

Having a ton of trouble with N'zoth task 3. I have never beaten Mi'da before. My current strategy is to hope to get the Assasination treasure with Kazakus or Scabb (dont have Valeera) by the time i get there, but for some reason the demon encounters on the way there keep smoking me...I see a lot of advice for the nature bros but i dont have malfurion, only guff and brukan. Any advice to deal with those encounters? and also for farming mercs in general since i might be unaware of certain tricks.

    Unfortunately, that's pretty much the easiest way to finish up task 3. There are other comps you can try;

    - Dragon build with Alexstrasza/brightwing/Yulon or Brightwing/Sinestra/Yulon. Yolun's treasure allows for some passive damage reduction while also having abilities that either taunt or give dragons health. Its also useful to note that Sinestra (and nefarion) can get a passive that grants 20 health to dragons. Just wittle away the trash mobs and heal with brightwing for the win.

    - ChiJi/Trigore/Cornelius. The nice thing is that ChiJi's heal ability doesn't have a cooldown so you can just spam it. A bit squishy, which is why Cornelius is here. Trigore can just backlash all day while cornelius plays defense. Its nice that the naaru shard synergizes with ChiJi's heal abilities.

As for the climb, you can easily use dragon comp as long as you have sinestra. There's nothing really noteworthy except most of them are demons so Kurtrus generally does well here.

  • Nzoth task 1;

Just put any murloc in your team. Dont have to play it

    Nzoth task 2;

You can just play cookie. Spawning the fishes will prevent the game from ending as we know, and you can finish off the ice blocks to your heart's desire before ending the game.

I did it with nature bros. Get rid of icehowl early, spawn fish, kill off cookie and then bring in the big guns to finish off the ice blocks.

    Nzoth task 3

All this means is you cant use the naaru shard to do anything useful . A fairly trivial requirement with nature bros. Otherwise you might have to rely on alternative healing sources like anacondra, alexstrasza, etc.
