I couldn't really parse that either. What "big subtractions" were in Year of the Gryphon to compare the coming "big additions"? Burning cards? Subtracting cost?
All the previous year names have been animals. Plants, it is your time to shine!
TBH, I don't envision Team 5 announcing Year of the [tribe], as much as I do enjoy the elemental play style.
When I try to think about how the zodiac guides the Hearthstone year, it needs to be specific and vague at the same time. Year of the Moth? Year of the Frog? Year of the Basilisk?
The General's troops have major fire resistance, and can't be frozen, so that's a few comps sidelined.
He has such powerful healing, that I think my next attempt (my Orc team just got their butts kicked on Heroic) will include Tamsin for her Veil Of No Healing ability.
I lost a couple Mercs on the climb also - those Immolate abilities snuck up on me! I think I'll be more aggressive with my healing and maybe give the Holy/Shadow gang a whirl.
Utility rates are structured differently everywhere, but around here charging an ipad daily will run you about $2 a year.
We have one of those power meters where you plug the meter into the wall, and then plug your appliance into the meter, and it reports the draw. My spouse and I tested everything we could reach, and the only item where a behavior change made sense was the coffeepot. Now, after it's done brewing, we turn it off instead of letting the hotplate keep the coffee warm.
If you have any environmental concerns about the impacts of playing video games, a much more impactful trade is to swap in one meatless meal each week. And make sure the screen setting is as dim as reasonable.
Tablets and phones draw very little power overall. (Not gonna get into any analysis of crypto mining here, lol). Have fun. Chase XP. Your electric bill will be fine.
I did this one yesterday with a comp that summoned extra bodies on my side (Tamsin's void taunts and Anacondra's beasts, etc). That plus a Hot Potato meant that I didn't need 3 Mercs damaged to 34, less damage (and less healing) spread across more bodies did the trick.
Still took a while! Cookie's target dummies would have been faster!
"For the price of completely giving up your chances to win," lol
I really appreciate these articles and the humor within.
And the warnings as to which achievements take more tracking effort. I still haven't won that "create every type of golem" achievement from the last Kazakus. What is it with that guy and note-taking requirements?
Feels like the language of the tasks could be much clearer. I end up checking after the first fight to make sure progress is actually happening.
And in the last patch, I noticed that the Mysterious Stranger now shows the 3 task options when you hover. Maybe that worked the whole time on desktop, but now it works on mobile. So nice!
Daowen, I haven't beaten Heroic Garr either. He does have frost weakness, so that is one avenue to try.
Killing his firesworn one at a time is going to yield less damage, but that Hunting Party treasure (you can get it with a beast party) might help more.
Popsicooler is a ton of stats on board, and I barely squeaked out a win with my holy damage (with lots of healing) crew. There's probably a better way to do it. Maybe more immunity?
Fresh tip: I just completed Heroic Icehowl today, and even after he had turned one of my Mercs into a block of ice, it was still able to cast its abilities. Like they were Rooted instead of Frozen.
Not sure if that's a bug, or a change from the latest patch, but I don't think non-heroic Icehowl worked that way (weeks ago).
So make sure your party includes damage from a distance!
Setting aside the mistakes with the heal-up, I'm still baffled over the original issue. I saw the dust popup. So I had somehow recorded too many copies of golden rewards cards?
Like, did the rewards track show 2 uncraftable cards and then it added 6 to my collection?
Nailed it! Diablo did nicely as a finisher, and my fire comp held their own and did lots of damage.
Alexstraza's Gambit ability did much work, plus she picked up a treasure that restored everyone to full health. Coupled with someone else's treasure that did not allow health to be reduced below 1, and boom, two extra turns to zap my enemies.

Or is this too metaphorical for my lil brain?

I had that same thought when I saw Fortune's Favor: why isn't it a tiger? So I appreciate the explanation provided.

Lol, this totally made my Twosday morning.
The NYT crossword puzzle is also celebrating the day, fyi.

Tonight I had enough coins to craft Galvangar, cool cool.
Then I took him on a couple bounty runs to unlock some abilities, cool cool.
Then the collection manager showed -268 Galvangar coins. Math, y'all, it is just so hard.

Relatable, relatable.

I haven't been tracking my win rate, but I can confirm a very high rate of Concede-when-there-are-3+Void-Hounds.
Sensible, really.
Tuesday should bring some shakeups, and certainly some other fun things to try in Duels, Battlegrounds, and Mercenaries.
Maybe hunt some achievement XP until then?
Thanks for the ideas, Swizard! I love it when I can chase achievements and wins at the same time.

Onward!
A "sense of accomplishment" is not my primary goal! I'd just like to unlock the next thing.
I don't think I've ever seen those Assassinate treasures. Closest I can recall is Sylvanas stealing 3x3 from everyone.
The Hunting Party treasure that prevents new things from spawning does not work on Blackhand's gang, so I need these additional ideas!
