Poor Flux, who will get barely no sleep and has to deal with "i have zero bandwith"-online-station.net at the very beginning!

I'm happy to get the dumpster fire of a reveal out of the way quickly though before the sleep deprivation gets a chance to set in. This whole reveal period doesn't look very bad for sleep either though. Its really only 4 days of intense reveals!
Its also helpful that we usually have some other folks around to keep company and provide assistance during reveals which makes stuff quite a bit faster. I'm certainly no stranger to waking up, doing a reveal, and then being back to sleep 4-5 minutes later. The Chinese translation cards are probably the worst of the bunch since we rely on Google translate. Though, we've gotten fairly good at using Google translate now and understand what the broken English translations mean much quicker with the years of dealing with it. Sometimes we also see translations from members of the community that actually speak and read Chinese though so that can be helpful in confirming our translations.
Overall though, excited to be in another card reveal period! I'm really looking forward to what they want to push for each of the classes this time around. Especially considering Shadow Priest hype.
The schedule widget has always been available on mobile. The only part of the site that isn't great on mobile in the deckbuilders though they still remain accessible for the daring.
If you visit the homepage or Hearthstone portal, you can tap on the "Forums" tab which will show you the countdowns. There is a button at the bottom of the countdowns that takes you to the full reveal page.
I know "Forums" is a bit of an odd button to press to get to that info. Its just what we've called the sidebar on mobile for now.
I've never heard of being able to buy wild adventures for gold again if you change your clock, but I do know there is some wiggleroom.
Its possible to have Blizzard activate something on the server, but not tell clients the purchase is available yet. But, if you change your clock, the server will let you go through with the purchase early since its technically active.
There are also ways to buy bundles they don't give you access to, but that doesn't always work and I consider it slightly risky so I wouldn't encourage anyone to look into it. You can also just waste money as well, which I've done when trying to buy a bundle I didn't get. The bundle was supposed to give me 20 packs but I got one instead. Serves me right for trying to abuse the system :P
(None of that should ever hurt someone using the shop regularly though - I don't want to cause anyone any worries about potential purchases)
I'm sad to see Mythgard entering maintenance mode. I know that indie struggle in a well-established genre all too well. I don't think it's completely impossible for a new card game to get into the market, but that social networking and having some kind of a budget to throw money into the mix is all too important.
Its cool to see that they'll be keeping the servers up for as long as they can though, and trying to still push out updates when they have the free time is a pleasant touch. Sorry it didn't work out for the devs and I'm sorry we couldn't help drive more traffic toward the game.
Yeah, that is the big downside in not having as much time to think about the cards and theorycraft decks. I did enjoy that bit about the longer reveal periods! It was always fun to see someone midway through reveals make a cool looking deck with a how-to guide that just got super upgraded during the final stream & dump day - or the opposite where it looked trash due to everything else other classes were getting.
As someone who has to sit around and deliver the news as soon as cards come out, I'm very happy about their changes.
When it used to be just over 2 weeks for card reveals, I got sick every. single. time. The sleeping schedule meant I'd get very little of it which only caused more stress over getting everything right. Not to mention the huge productivity tank that occurs during a card reveal period because of how bad the sleeping is. That sickness would then screw me up for 2-4 days which usually meant that pre-expac preparations took a tank as well.
A week in total though, with a dead weekend that has no reveals breaking up two chunks of days, my body no longer hates me.
I also do think this is better overall for engagement. As much as I'd love the extra ad revenue for 2-3 weeks of reveals, it feels like people get more hyped because they don't have a chance for it to die down. Also, we've always had a dry period between announcement and reveals, so not much has changed there. We just get to the expansion a bit faster overall from the initial announcement.
I'd like to do some more database-oriented stuff to make it more useful to know what skins have and dont have too because its clear Blizzard is not slowing down the skin train!
I expect the BG heroes pack to be real cheap. They don't need emotes which cuts down on dev work and the fact that you can only use them occasionally due to the way BGs hero choice works, its a tough pitch to try and sell them even $5 a piece.
I bet that pack is going to be $20. They'll then do bundles of heroes for BGs going forward, thematic to events or expansions going on, never allowing individual purchases (though gold could be used at some point).
I'm glad they're giving it the polish it needs though. It would be such a mess if they launched another new mode that was subpar. I know Duels isn't everyone's cup of tea, and Mercs definitely won't be too, but at least Mercs has the potential to bring in some new players much like Battlegrounds has done.
I would have liked to see them talking more about the mode though throughout the past year. I know there are a lot of downsides to that - many players aren't as patient and you do have the issue of another studio beating you to the release of similar content, but damn it, I love my dev insights!

1 Mana
They do!
If it get added. Nothing says every hero is going to get added to the game for gold. Even then, it could be years!

Huge props to Avalon on those predictions!

Anything that is going to have a change in economy is handled server-side =)

Apparently your status from the previous Fire Festival still works so no need to farm level 3 Fireworks again!
I'd put my money on a year of exclusivity. It would be a solid start to next year's Fire Festival to make the "old hero" available.
This will be like the cards in the KDA event - most likely free from the event itself and then you get to craft them after the event is over.
I see us doing them going forward =)

Yup, fully expect to be able to "exploit" this =D
Once its activated, we'll have a guide available to help folks out.

The Windows and Mac versions of their deck trackers are completely different. I don't think the same people even work on them.
I know there are also fewer features on the client due to mac limitations, so that is another reason for not having feature parity.
This would definitely be a cool addition! I won't make any promises though just yet =)
Yeah, this makes it like a year delayed lol.
