I think for Elise's case, opening a pack of Golden cards still fits the flavor for a Diamond as packs can't contain Diamond cards at all, and that's her very unique perspective. It does mean that her pack itself needs to be Diamond though, so it gets to look extra flashy just like her.
Frostmourne is particularly annoying though since the only realistic thing to do there is to make it a rule that Diamond cards don't get Diamond tokens, which I'm not against. It would open up the space of potential Diamond cards even more, and I'm secretly hoping that once they play catch-up with the old cards, they'll go back for round 2 and find other ways of letting us acquire them - maybe gameplay achieves for old expansions instead of simple collection ones?
I love Diamond cards so much. I'm really hoping they roll them out quickly and they continue on this beautiful cosmetic journey Hearthstone finally started.
This is a major reason why its important we still have independent sites over nonsense social media. With a good moderation team and solid values, you can provide a fun place for folks to chat and be a part of something.
I still want to push out a tool for this to make it even easier than a thread. Hopefully the time investment makes sense at some point - we've had a ticket logged for it since before we launched.
A big "problem" you could say is logged out folk. A large chunk of our viewers have accounts compared to the old site. Those anonymous people that are netdecking or just coming by for news, they don't really have a reason to go elsewhere. You've also got the very casual people that come back to Hearthstone for a few weeks each expansion and just go to the one place they know.
Used to be youd upload a deck make a description and post a comment under it yourself to get people that dont search new decks to see your deck. I dont know why they got rid of it tbh.
You can find this on the Hearthstone Portal sidebar!
We don't show it on the homepage because then we'd run into the scenario of needing to do it for the other titles with decks as well - it could become quite the mess.
Not sure how the algorythms work, but right now the "hot" and the "top" decks are showing almost the same results.
Unfortunately, this is mostly a result of having low interactions with decks as a whole. If more people voted on decks, we'd have different results between them. Hot doesn't get interesting until we've got that though.

You have that cooperation with HSReplay running, so why not use it some more?
If we were allowed to do that, it would have been done originally. The only thing we can do with winrates is show them on individual deck pages.

This might be a little insolent, but I'd really appreciate it if there was a section where you point us to meta reports.
I don't have an issue with promoting content, but I do think it would be silly if we were to promote several different reports that get put out in the community. Sometimes they don't all agree with each other and to spotlight that, it could get confusing for people.
I do want to do more meta-focused stuff on the site though and an in-dev feature will help us put a spotlight on certain decks more. It'll be more obvious once this gets pushed out.

While we're at it, a collection of podcasts would be pretty awesome, too.
This has been a bit of a pipe dream for me. Being able to help push some of the great shows we have in the Hearthstone community would be awesome but I also can't see us posting news articles for them all. It would be kinda nuts to push down breaking news articles with podcast/show promotions, especially when 3-4 solid people are putting out that kind of content on the same day.
A weekly recap of sorts would be easier to do, but then for shows that take place at the start of a 7-day period, you end up in a weird spot of them not being relevant as often. Also, there's a greater chance that their show for that week has already been seen by folks which makes the content less useful.
That's why what we'd need is a more dedicated system in place to put that kind of content on the site and then have it show up somewhere like the sidebar on the homepage and game portal pages, and maybe occasionally pushing a particular show into the news feed itself. Letting folks subscribe to different shows to get site notifications when new episodes go live would then be a thing.
I also think for more long-term success of that though we're looking at having show runners themselves pushing their content here. While we do have several team members that listen to these shows, it isn't always immediate so us writing a synopsis for each episode isn't an ideal position to be in. Plus, the way I see it, it let's shows work a tiny bit for that promotion while we're free to do other stuff. It would mean we could open up such a thing to more folks producing that kind of content because effectively, we don't have to do anything.
There's also a great trove of YouTube content people are creating that deserve a spotlight. Some amazing deck videos out there, we really just need someone that's willing to go through it and write a bit about them when good stuff is uncovered.
Yeah, a tiny bit of thought has indeed gone into the whole podcast thing, lol.
Considering the set is named Wailing Caverns, named after the World of Warcraft dungeon, that Murloc should be named Mutanus the Devourer if it exists in the set because that's the last boss!
I'd love to see the numbers on it because I feel like at this point, Blizzard makes some pretty solid bank with in-person BlizzCon and you have to consider the effect a huge in-person event has compared to online - I feel like there was more coverage during a real BlizzCon from outside outlets; that spills over into less money needing to be spent on marketing potentially.
Ticket sales almost certainly cover the cost of the convention itself though with them increasing almost every year. The excitement of being there and willingness to spend on the experience also likely gets people spending more than they would normally on merch had it been online only (idk, I find online merch kinda not as hype).
I think this hybrid we're going to see early next year is super awesome and is a good indication of what is to come. The pandemic has let them change the model of BlizzCon without anyone being upset about it since everyone is quite understanding in-person just wouldn't have worked last year. Maybe do the big convention but then have smaller, satellite parties around the world at the same time so everyone could have a chance at having some kind of BlizzCon experience. Anyone outside of the Americas kinda gets rekt when it comes to BlizzCon.
If you're just going to be a salt train, yeah, you're going to accumulate downvotes. I don't even see why downvotes are an issue, you're more than welcome to keep posting in the thread, downvotes don't mean anything. They're clearing working though since you have gotten even saltier and put it on display for everyone to see.
This is also so not an appropriate forum for this so I'm locking this.
At this point though, I don't think any of us can help you and I don't believe removing downvotes is going to help the situation at all.
Here are some mental health resources I encourage you, and anyone else experiencing anger at video games, look into.
The rest are actively being worked on - Mage is being templated.
We'll be promoting the individual guides as well on the homepage, as they go up, so you won't have to worry about missing any of them. We will be promoting these three individually though, so don't hurt us if you see "repeat" content :D

Sorry the original version of this article didn't include our usual bit about the free tavern ticket. Updated now =)
I reached out to Blizzard for comment and can confirm that card reveals are done for today.
Sorry, I assumed we were going to see more than this. I would have titled this differently if I knew.
will we get cards in 1 minute?
how long can this go on?
find out next time on dragon ball z

Always love to share when people ask questions and it makes sense =D

Translations are up in the article now since apparently nothing of value has been happening over the past 2 hours. Blizzard =(
I'll mention it here since they finally showed up on reddit. Hearthstone's Russian account posted a video with some new cards.

We're waiting on official translations since they shouldn't be too far away. At least that's what I said before lol.
They've got a support email at the top left of their site.
Also...
HAPPY BIRTHDAY!
