In Odd Paladin, this could be used. But you would need to run Stand Against Darkness or something similar to make it really worth it. It is situational, but in the current standard meta, this in Pure Paladin could easily find a home with the cost of the librams.
dont need stand against darkness. Just loatheb, quartermaster(which got 2 off), fungalmancer or that faceless rusher that transforms aminion.
Or maybe they run 1 vinecleaver or worst case Baku.
point is, you need to be able to run and effectively fire off a 5+ mana card to trigger the Corrupt on this card. Odd Paladin has them, but not in mass.
This is begging to be in a control warrior deck. After seeing someone utilize Commencement combined with Ceremonial Maul to get 2 gnarly things on the board, having this in your hand waiting for someone to drop a giant just seems fitting.
I don't think it will go into anything Aggro, it's too slow for that and 5 for 4/4 rush won't bring as much value as other options. But again, in a control deck, which this set looks like it is setting up to bring back into the meta, this will find a home
5 for a 8/8 rush minion is just good. This is another example of this set setting things up for control decks. You drop a bigger spell to eliminate some minions or gain a little board control. Then when your opponent drops something next turn, you only spend 5 mana to annihilate it.
This won't be a must include in all decks, but I certainly think it will find it's place in a number of control warrior decks.
I"m sure that someone, somewhere, somehow will make a deck that will utilize this card. It may be the only thing that the deck does... but someone will make a 10 mana 1/1 minion killer viable
A neutral 3 minion killer that can get rid of evasive minions... solid. 10 mana though? That is pretty hard to justify when there are other options with most classes.
I honestly don't see a downside to this card being in your deck. Judging solely on the cards that have been revealed so far, this set is setting up to bring Control decks back into the fray which is a breath of fresh air in this Aggro dominated meta.
I love this card already. I like playing the older C'thun decks, and i will love playing this one. I wonder if C'Thun, the Shattered will get buffed in wild after playing one of the C'Thun cards? If not then it's a big dissapointment, even if C'Thun, the Shattered is supposed to be more of a OTK card in itself.
Standard: This will certainly see play in control decks, but those aren't the best right now. If any deck can certainly use this, it's certainly galakrond priest. Galakrond priest generally wins by generating a lot of value, but they can slot in C'Thun, the Shattered as another win-condition.
Wild: Maybe in some other control decks? Honestly it depends how the pieces work, if the pieces are kinda like twinspell cards, then some highlander decks will probably run it for more removal and stuff. If it shuffles copies, then highlander decks will ignore C'Thun, the Shattered.
I wouldn't think it would due to the card being named slightly differently. The old C'Thun is named just that. This is a "new" version which doesn't have the exact same name. But that's my opinion
This just seems like an auto-include in pretty much every deck. There doesn't seem to be a drawback to having a card add 4 valuable spells to your deck.
I will totally play this card.... in casual games. RNG is super fun which is why it is a continual theme in Hearthstone. However, I don't see this being competitive.
This feels a little lack luster. In Wild where you can toss a bunch of different painful minions into a deck that don't rely on same type synergy, then I can see it being hard to deal with at that point. Until we see more cards that this could impact, it will be a meh card
Nozdormu feels like the only real way to counter to this, but that would mean that it would have to be on the deck before this dropped. This has a lot of potential, especially if people can figure out a way to Jepetto Joybuzz him to make it a slightly earlier turn then it could be devastating.
This card is pretty solid. A 7 mana mind control is a pretty solid thing. Granted, it would require some set up, but... it is something to help neutral out a lot
I am really happy to see cards like this printed. The notion of having to cast something 5+ before it isn't too far out of range thanks to Lightning Bloom, and being able to shoot a minion for 6, then others for 2 is like Starfire for Shamans... Totally a great card.
I will never NOT like these! I love it. Keep up the fun!

I'm really looking forward to the control aspect of this set.

This seems like more of a fun card than a serious play card. RNG, for the most part, is just as harmful as it is helpful
Wild: Pretty solid to build a deck around it's versatility
Standard: This remains to be seen with other card reveals

REally really solid card to play
Totally playable in control Galakrond decks
