Rogue quest is irrelevant since the community will just complain about whatever new rogue deck comes out and just get it nerfed into the ground like many previous rogue decks.

    Mage:

    • Strengths: Spells (big and small), damage spells, Secrets, board clear
    • Limitations: Minion swarms
    • Weaknesses: Healing, Taunt, minion buffs

    Priest:

    • Strengths: Healing, narrow but powerful spells, copying, single-minion buffs, Deathrattle
    • Limitations: Card draw
    • Weaknesses: Face damage spells, multi-minion buffs

So according to Blizzard's logic, this card should've been a Mage card.

But for some weird reason Priest and Warlock are not only getting better board clears, but also more board clears.
The name of the card would suggest it's a Warlock card (Plague of Death).
Priests are anti dead and the art doesn't fit the card name as well -I don't see a plague (a disease).

All in all, this shouldn't be a Priest card but a card used AGAINST Priest, Priest already has the most and best board clears at the moment and for that I give it a 1/5.

You're trying to reason with Blizzard and their failure of either strictly sticking to class identity, or abandoning it altogether. Blizzard doesn't understand logic in this case

The deck is very hard countered by decks like Mech Hunter in standard, and in wild the archtype is far from problematic so I don't see the point of nerfing another card or cards simply because standard is a train wreck because of its disastrously small card pool.

Plus, we have new cards coming out and I'd rather let card design shape the meta by introducing new counter strategies as opposed to the lazy design approach of requiring players to not think and just request artificial power exchanges from one deck to another by nerfing something that could have otherwise been handled with a new card that preyed on the weaknesses/strengths of other synergies.

    Beware N'Zoth Decks xD

This is why I run both Shadowstep & Togwaggle's Scheme in my wild N'Thun Reno Rogue list. If you don't go as greedy as you can with control rogue you will almost always lose those attrition control matches against priest & warlock

Black Hole in Yu-Gi-Oh was banned fairly early on in the game's life and this card is better than that. That should say something. This is just the priest version of warlocks getting Godfrey on top of having Defile already (IE Priests did not need yet another expensive F-You full board hard removal option).

I may be later during the next paycheck. Right now I'm all locked down after a very pricey action figure purchase XP

I hadn't seen that. I like it, although I expect it'll make the brawl feel slightly less special. I expect the deckbuilding brawls to be pretty monotonous by the end of the week when everyone's figured out the unbeatable combo.

*Shrugs* honestly most brawls are very easy to figure out early on, and then to counter during the deckbuilding TBs. I don't see this change resulting in any significant difference.

Really !? Now they are giving old card backs ?

Wtf is wrong with you Blizzard ? It was a limited time card-back. So with this way of considering, gaining new players are better than keeping old players in hand ?

Wrong decision. I'm not happy with this reward since im a player who plays this game since beta.

Edit: Ah and don't get me wrong. Im not saying that "how dare you don't give us new stuff!?" it is about exclusiveness. Giving the season 12 card back to players who didn't play at season 12 is wrong in my opinion. That's rude to the players who played in season 12. They "gained" it by playing in that season. Now they are giving this achievement to everyone.

    Rude.

I don't really consider this that earth shattering when you take another Blizzard game into consideration (WoW).

In WoW many of us hardcore mount collectors eventually started seeing mounts we spent months searching for, or grinding millions of gold for, etc eventually pop up on the BMAH. If a game like WoW was going to eventually open up extremely rare mounts or items up for many more people to get I wouldn't consider Blizzard opening up a card back that you spent almost no effort getting (rank 20 or 5 games is hardly exhausting effort) then I'm not crushed by the news honestly.

Plague of Death is very Yu-Gi-Oh level of busted (Think better Black Hole). As if priests needed another expensive hard removal option.

You nerf warrior and something else will simply become the proliferate match-up you face most often. Should we then continually nerf whatever is at the top and overplayed in the hopes that for some reason people will stop playing optimized decks?

    Topsy Test subject priest?

That was my thought as well. The deck had a lot fewer ways to survive and stall out the game than other OTK decks imo. Plus the whole APM thing (which is a real barrier especially when faced with Voidlord taunt walls back in the day)

Coming from somebody who has played since vanilla HS and who uses quite a few warlock decks in wild (with the busted cards we have there) I can't really say I feel bad. Warlock has had such an overwhelming presence in top tier meta status when you take all previous metas in mind that I'm perfectly fine with the class taking a back burner in the standard format. It's about time the class feels what it is like to not have 'god-cards' like Defile, Gul'Dan, Godfrey, or even the old Voidcaller / Mal'Ganis vomitted into their laps.

Recently I crafted a golden Sonya for my Spectral Pillager Rogue (in the sig) because it has long been my favorite deck. I may also craft a golden Valeera down the road too at some point. Sure, crafting cards in golden is certainly not everyone's cup of tea, but once in a long while I like to do a little extra for a deck I really like. Baited for those shinies.

Have you ever crafted a golden legendary for a deck or specific card you really enjoyed?

I am in favor of HOF-ing it, if only to mix it up a bit, multiple decks have been able to pull "Mountain Giant on 4" through the history of HS. I'm over it.

In terms of classes Mountain Giant really hasn't seen a ton of play, it has almost been an exclusive warlock/mage card when it has been used. It may be used a lot in this classes (mainly warlock for many years before CC was a thing), but I don't see how that is any different than 'Many warrior decks use Brawl, Many mage decks use Fireball, or Many priest decks use Cleric' kind of complaint.

I'm not big on removing cards just for the sake of changing things up. Imo it needs to be a Tier 0/S meta-warping problem to resort to that, otherwise the vocal minority just gets free reign with an annoying game of whack-a-mole against anything they get bored with every month.

Consistent cards do not always equal problematic cards.

    - Naga Sea Witch didn´t have that big winrate, but she was nerfed because It wasn´t fun to lose against that combo.

Instead, playing and losing against Big Priest and Darkest Hour Warlock is very fun and we deserve them in the meta...

To be fair, it took them ages to finally nerf Naga Sea Witch so them taking forever to do something about big priest fits their attitude towards wild (which is caring about it as little as possible).

Possible nerf for Big Priest in Wild would be primary Barnes, because nerfing all the ressurect effects would kill every other deck types (probably).

This is what troubles me most though. I'm afraid just nerfing Barnes at this point won't be enough. And seeing how it took the community what, a year now? Of constant bickering about big priest before they even considered doing something about it makes me feel like we'll have to go through at least another year of Anduin's utter bullcrap.

Honestly Vargoth has more or less double filled the role of Barnes at this point. The main difference between the two is that Barnes represents a earlier highroll & diminishes greatly in the end game while Vargoth can't tutor anything out early on but creates an incredibly staggering value game/sustain potential in the late game. Nerfing or even deleting Barnes would do absolutely nothing essentially. Big Priest would still generally lose to aggro and sometimes midrange while they would win against most slow non-otk decks due to Vargoth & frequent 6 minion resurrects.

I believe Mike's comment on SN1P-SN4P and Wild was that the OTK decks (Mechwarper and Summoning Portal) are not strong based on their internal data, more like a meme level.

So long as my Spectral Pillager Rogue deck isn't killed due to a Mechwarper nerf to address a legendary everyone got for free I'll be happy.

I find their reasoning so incredibly odd when it comes to Big Priest. So, you nerf NSW decks & kill them due to them more or less doing what Big Priest does (highrolls, weak to aggro, anti-control playstyle) but try as hard as you can to not kill resurrect priest decks. I mean I'm all for preserving everything within reason because more decks = more fun, but inconsistency is something I really hate sometimes. Either unnerf NSW or kill Big Priest.
