No hate from me - I can believe the statement, actually. The 'labor of love' they speak about is likely dealing with merchandising, branding, distribution, etc. It's just very odd that the proceeds aren't going anywhere useful.
Also, couldn't the design have been, y'know, more of a design? They just took the logo and Bomb Pop'd it.
I'm a disappointed bean. I was expecting a support card for murlocs, not whatever this thing is. This hurts murloc decks! The pool of minions to randomly generate now has a 7-mana Kirby in it.
This will likely end up in the same position as Silas Darkmoon: while useful in fringe cases, it's not consistent enough to warrant play and will enjoy a shady career in memery with cards like Scargil, Shadowstep, or Shudderwock.
I also wish that they had. It is more Warcraft this way, but imagine if they'd gone eclectic and had Cho'Gall and Magni as starting heroes! That would have been fun.
I may be the only one with this, but I loved Karazhan. The Hearthstone team shines when they're being silly - the Barrens, Book of Heroes, and Demon Hunter content of late that's featured long speeches, rhymes, and macho macho big epaulette vibes is real drag, comparatively. With a mixture of Beauty and the Beast, the Great Gatsby, and 80s vibes, Karazhan's theme made me happy to play it. There was some real innovation there, too - the chess puzzle! Plus others.
Would you like to see new Dungeon Run bosses, modes, or cards?
No, for two reasons. The most important reason is that the Hearthstone team obviously already has a hard time optimizing everything on their hands. Constructed is in a good place, but UI overhauls are needed, Wild is iffy, Duels still needs adjustment, Arena will get attention, cosmetics are ramping up, and Mercenaries is in the backyard listening to Engelbert Humperdinck while polishing garden gnomes. Far better for Team 5 to spend their time developing those existing projects than updating solo content.
My other reason is more personal: I don't enjoy the bucket system. Choosing buckets is always a compromise: which of these choices would corrupt my gameplan the least? Buckets are often filled with crappy cards, cards for other gameplans, or - quite often - two great cards and one crippling one you hope you don't ever draw. The addition of Bob's Tavern was a necessary band-aid on a larger, more persistent problem with the mode.
However! While new content, new bosses, modes, or cards, would be a waste, system improvements would be brilliant. Carry over the treasure updates from Duels. Have buckets offer applicable and powerful cards. Balance overpowered bosses. Let us complete quests in solo content. Several of these changes are applicable to both Duels and Dungeon Runs, so you can fix two birds with one hammer!
I've been enjoying Warrior with the 'deal 1 damage' hero power very much. You may not always get so far, but winning the first two games feels guaranteed with Grommash and Alexstrasza on your side. Same thing goes for Quest Mage with a spell damage package.
His comments about Arena make me sad. I don't want to see its gloriously simple, old-school format become genericized like the Standard ladder ranks.
Granted, I'd probably be happy enough if they adjusted the rewards to be equivalent, but given the rewards they offer for Heroic Duels, I don't have great faith. The randomization of treasures, your game-winning effects, means that hoping to consistently regain your entry money for Heroic Duels is just silly. (Though I still play it, heh. It's so much fun when the treasures go your way.)
Maybe they'll turn Arena into a true Draft mode, where you can earn the cards you put in your deck somehow?
I wish they'd commission more intriguing portrait poses. The current options seem to be 'standing still' or 'finishing move!', and pretty as Garrosh looks with a cleaver over his head, it feels odd to be playing a relaxed card game against an opponent permanently locked in battle.
What about, say, Jaina, slightly irked because the hem of her dress got muddy? Garrosh, intently polishing his epaulettes. Valeera, realizing she overpaid for that trinket. Rexxar, about to give you a kiss! . . . well, that one is silly. Sorry. Valeera would never overpay for something.
Anyway, not every portrait has to be intimidating. More silly stuff, please!
I was gonna say this, I'd be really tempted to buy that!

But think of all the shoes you'd get to eat!
Is that a murloc? That is a murloc. I am excited.
I had this happen to me yesterday as well. You're not alone, unfortunately.
All hail the Magic Conch!
(please tell me there's a magic conch card in that battlegrounds set)
Lovely to see blitzchung on top!

I dread the day that hidden MMR and skillbased matchmaking finally takes over this last game mode.
Ero-sensei would be an ideal Shaman hero - FROGS!
Orochimaru as a Warlock, of course, Shikamaru as a Rogue, Kiba as a Hunter, the First Hokage as a Druid, but who would be a Mage?
Mad Bomber, Madder Bomber, and Deidara as a neutral legendary Maddest Bomber, maybe?
Hah! I came down to the comments just to say this. BOMBS! Of course he's a Warrior :D

Holy moly, whatever the Dubai of WoW is called, they want their profits back!

It's always amusing to see just how many downvotes get thrown around on these nerfing articles.

Ain't the best pig for N'zoth Death's Head Cultist? Taunts, health, that's exactly what you need to hold up a late-game threat like him.
