  • That's not bad! Rogue already has a lot of card draw, but this is a good amount for cost, especially if you make the Combo.

  • This weapon pool is likely quite large, but with 3 options (Discover continues to be one of the mot powerful mechanics), I expect this will be pretty good more often than not, especially for only 1 mana, and with a buff.

  • Ok, coins, rocks and bananas are NOT junk (assuming they are the same cards we've seen previously). I don't know what the "knife" will be ... maybe give a minion +2 attack? This card looks pretty good!

  • Without Taunt, Rush or Lifesteal, this has minimal impact. But it's also probably going to be a free 3/3 and 8/8, which is not to be underestimated. Plus, Paladin has SO much handbuffing right now. Since this is a mech, you can magnetize Sparkbots to it, or other things.

  • This Pack will be VERY hit or miss. If you get some decent cheap, playable stuff, hooray. If you get situational stuff, or too expensive stuff, it's going to feel pretty bad. So, on par with all the other burgle cards, I guess.

  • Lots of value here. You get a 1/1 and a 1/1 Rush for 1 mana, then later you get an 8/8 and an 8/8 Rush. Plus Murlocs have lots of synergy that will make this even better.

  • I find this card really hard to evaluate. There are a few things that could be really powerful to discount, like the Giant version of The Replicator-inator. However, I'm not sure if the expense of the 2 mana, plus the 5 armor, plus whatever you spent to gain that 5 armor, is worth it.

  • Looks like a great 1-drop. Not clear if it keeps the improved attack permanently or not, but I think it will be pretty strong either way.

  • Great with Ball Hog obviously. I'm blanking on other strong deathrattles that Demon Hunter would use this with.

  • Looks fine. Not sure if there are enough bombs to make bomb warrior good enough in Standard, or ot choose to play bomb warrior over Highlander.

  • Well, this is basically an immediate pair of 3/3s, which isn't that impressive. Of course, you could make multiple copies all at once with Going Down Swinging. But really, this card's best use will be to discover it with Window Shopper and make multiple 6/5s instead.

  • Pretty sweet card! Decent stats for a relatively cheap instant trade, with bodies dropped behind. I could see this fitting in plenty of decks, especially Highlanders.

  • This card gets 5/5 for flavor!

As far as playability, I'm dubious. The abilitytomake sopies of minions can be really powerful, but it's limited by the attack value of this card, which you might modifiy through hand buffs or board buffs. I can't imagine getting to copy an 8 attack minion using the Giant version.

  • This looks pretty good, although expensive. Resurrecting a couple of these with the new Dr. Boom could be pretty strong!

  • These packs seem bad overall, but I think they might be actually good. The idea of generating and then discarding some minions feels like a waste of resources, but if you play this at 10 (or 11) mana, then spend another 8-10 mana on the Taunt minions you get, the vlaue could be significant. This is obviously a tool for control Warrior, and it might end up being a good one!

  • Thanks for the clarification!

    That card sucks!

  • Can't wait to lose the rest of my turn because my opponent stalls their choice! Surely there will be a way around this, right?

  • Enthusiastic agreement with most of the above!

I recently discovered Splendor, which my family has been greatly enjoying. Simple enough to get right into, complex enough to develop strategies over time. If you like Catan, you'll probably like this one too.

I also love One Night: Ultimate Werewolf. It's an interactive game where the players collectively try to solve the mystery of who the werewolf is, but one or two players might be the werewolf themselves. It's all about detective work and bluffing.

As a huge fan of escape rooms, I have found a number of at-home escape room games you can play. My favorites are the Unlock! Escape Adventures made by Space Cowboys. These games use a free phone app in which you enter codes, get hints, etc. Very creative and fun.

I used to love the game Pandemic (a rare cooperative board game), but after the last few years ... it hits a bit different, you know?

  • I only play Standard, so I'm not sure how relevant these potential changes might be for Wild.

I have definitely been on the receiving end of some Wheel of DEATH!!! shenanigans, but I'm not sure how it should be changed. The problem is that after playing it, they play the 15/15 Lifesteal Taunt for free, then shuffle Symphonies into the deck.

I haven't encountered Timewinder Zarimi even once, so I'm not sure what the issue is here, although I can obvisouly see how it could be abused.

I love Reno and I don't think it needs a change. Yes, it's a powerful swing card, but it does not win games on its own. Plus, it can be defeated by shuffling Plagues. Also, you can play around it by not overcommiting to the board.

Speaking of "player agency," I LOVE that the current special event allows you to choose the Hearthstone path or the Battlegrounds path. As a player who avoids Battlegrounds entirely, this is very welcome!

  • This is a very thorough and well-composed assessment of the state of things, and I hope it will help those who read it make decisions for themselves about what will be best for their gaming habits and expenses.

I'll share my experience for anyone who cares to read it.

I've been a daily player for almost the entire 10 years of the game's existence, but I stopped spending money on it a couple years ago (due primarily to the sexual harrassment suits, but also because I had become uncomfortable with the expense in a "sunken cost" type of way). Before that, I bought every expansion's pre-order bundle, but nothing else. Quests/Rewards Track typically bring in about 10K gold per cycle, which I spend on packs, and I have enough dust saved up that I can craft Legendaries when I really want them. What this means is that I am still enjoying the game as F2P, but that's partly due the money I spent historically. I am just as fed up with the bullshit linkblade91 has described so clearly above (especially the Corridor Sleeper), but I don't have a difficult decision to make at the moment. I have no plans to start spending money on the game again, but if the in-game resources I am able to gather decrease to the point that it impinges on how much fun I'm having, I'll have to consider leaving. In the meantime, I'll just keep F2Ping, and I encourage others to do the same if you feel similarly put out by Blizzard's practices. Maybe if enough people hold back their dollars, they'll get the message and roll back all the crap.
