Yeah, I tried farming Malfurion too but gave up after so many fruitless runs. Farming heroic boars felt so much better; at least with an all-legendary team I was guaranteed to get 10 coins of some legendary with minimal effort.

The bad taste still lingers so I might just stick to boars for a while longer, thanks Blizzard. It's not what the devs intended but they have their stingy money people to thank for that.

Edit: just realised that the change doesn't apply to Malfurion's Fallen Guardians heroic bounty run because it is not level 30 so you can feel "less bad" for grinding Malfurion coins, yay?

It's inconsistencies like these that detract from Hearthstone's world-building for me. I appreciate that some players enjoy deep-diving into the WoW lore behind the cards but really what's the point when the game doesn't even seem to respect it's own lore?

I trust we'll be seeing an improvement in relations between Blizzard and Hearthstone content creators. Perhaps Savj will finally get invited to a Battlegrounds event.

Absolutely 100% agree. The loot you pick up along each bounty run doesn't do nearly enough to change up your strategy from one run to the next. On the other hand, Duels, which allows you to build your starting deck AND doles out plenty of loot along the way, would have provided an excellent foundation for a single-player rogue-lite - it's such a damn shame that the developers were so blinkered into making another Arena-style PVP but with more degeneracy.

LOL nurse he needs a buff stat! I totally forgot about this winner of a legendary. Like, what little reason he has for existence is completely dashed by Golakka Glutton.

    Those parrots are looking WILD.

Grey Sage Parrot for Reno Mage, Big Spell Mage

Monstrous Parrot for any deathrattle hunter, including Oblivitron/Darkmoon Tonk Hunter

    Sunwing Squawker for Libram Paladin

Brilliant Macaw for any battlecry Shaman, including Shudderwock Shaman

Also: if you whiff on an unrepeated Shudderwock ie. Grumble, Worldshaker triggers before the self-copying battlecries, you may still redeem the situation by playing Brilliant Macaw on your next turn provided at least one Shudderwock survives.

This looks like a must-include in any Reno Mage deck.

Those Duels treasures and hero powers look so cool and ripe for abuse. If Duels had a single-player gauntlet mode à la Runeterra's Lab of Legends I would be playing that instead of Mercenaries PvE.

I haven't been keeping up with Book of Mercenaries... is Tamsin already undead in that storyline? I find it hard to believe they'd kill any other mercenary when we still have one more expansion to go in the mercenary arc.

I am a little dismayed that they are introducing new characters and diluting the RNG pool so soon after launch when I am nowhere close to getting/upgrading all the mercenaries that I want to play.

Yeah, I don't like the inconsistency - I thought the tribe attribute in Mercenaries was meant for race, but now they throw in a pirate 'race' that supplants a character's humanity, goblinity, taurenity, whatever-the-hell-Eudora-isity. But not murlocity (or do cooks not count as pirates?!). Ugh. It feels like the Hearthstone game client is severely limiting the game's potential that they could not even implement characters with multiple tribes.

I wish Blizzard had made these 2-week post-launch promos instead of pre-orders. I'd say the information (both official and unofficial) out there is insufficient, but even with more info, there's simply no substitute for trying out the game mode for yourself to determine whether it is worth spending any money on, let alone the $160+ they're asking for.

It's perfectly OK for them to weigh in without being condescending.

Some HS personalities were deriding Wild players for not remembering that "Wild will be wild" post. Such comments don't help the conversation any more than personal attacks against the devs, and they carry a whiff of elitism. I get that they're tired of seeing endless complaints about a game mode they're not personally invested in, however the correct response in this situation would have been to say nothing. Let the devs handle the issue, not add fuel to the fire.

I'm still holding out hope that the Mercenaries PvE mode will provide a fun single-player experience, much like Lab of Legends on LoR. But I am concerned that only the whales would be able to max out even one character, while the rest of us will have to grind away for coins with diminishing returns and make do with suboptimal builds forever.

I like that, despite this cutesy and whimsical side of Runeterra, it doesn't feel at odds with the more serious and gloomy side of it. I think Riot has found the right balance and having a consistent art style helps. Hearthstone is my main, but its disparate art styles and mishmash of flavour really detracts from my experience. It's like reading a comic drawn and written by a dozen different artists and writers, and I'm not a fan of that.

That's the real question isn't it and one I suspect for Blizzard's business people. I imagine a lot of math is involved to determine the optimal amount to keep players engaged while still maintaining the impetus to spend real money.

Totes agree on the Elwynn Boar, I can only pray I don't open it before I reach that level. It's a reminder of those feelsbad days before duplicate protection. Would be nice if they offered full dust refund for those epics.
