Most of the 'ranked' cards provide an interesting choice to players: play or hold? Not so much with this card though: you may want to hold it til rank 2, but rank 3 doesn't seem good enough. Maybe increase the cost reduction to 4 instead?

Good idea but the devil is in the details. Will the cost be adjusted to account for cards you already own or do you just get duplicates? When during the expansion cycle will the decks be made available? How do they find competitive decks? If they wait for such decks to establish themselves in the meta, we're more likely to have some of the cards by then. Duplicate rares and commons probably don't matter to most players, but duplicate epics and legendaries are a sore spot for me.

Still I like the idea if only as an alternative means of getting specific legendaries.

Oof, I wonder if websites based in Thailand are like that in general. I once had to track a package from Thailand - the postal tracking site was painfully slow to load or just timed out. I later used a VPN server based in Thailand and that seemed to work a little better.

I’m happy about Saronite Chain Gang, but some of these reversions have me a little nervous. Original Undertaker seems way too easy to snowball with a wide range of low-cost deathrattles, including Leper Gnome. I hope that Team5 is using this round of reversions to re-assess the strength of these cards in the current Wild landscape, and is ready to intervene if any card gets out-of-hand.

I recall that some streamers were really into Artifact’s gameplay; unfortunately with 3 separate lanes/boards to keep track of, it was not easy for viewers to follow, let alone enjoy. As for players, the deal-breaker must surely be the cost - it wasn’t just pay to play, it was pay to pay. Such avarice: bad enough that Valve wanted money for the base game and the card packs, they were taking a cut of the marketplace transactions too.

Will this stop a C'Thun (old and new) after its 3rd ping?

So now I want a Pandaria-themed expansion just so I can grab the very first Ranked Play card back.

Recently I bought Wild packs to fill in my rares and commons. A little tedious, counting the missing cards to determine how many packs of each set to buy. A universal Wild pack would have been useful in that regard.

However I would still prefer packs from individual sets when I'm looking for a particular epic.

I was watching Lifecoach (one-time Hearthstone player and general over-achiever) on a 100-game StS grind and thinking there must be something to the game that would hold his interest for so long, and maybe I should try it? Welp looks like Blizzard doesn’t want me leaving their warm embrace

My sense is that Classic packs will only contain cards that are playable in the upcoming Classic mode. Cards that replaced the HoF’ed cards, like Natalie Seline, will not appear in Classic packs after rotation, which is why a dev suggested opening Classic packs now if you’re missing some of those newer cards.

Wild player here, FWIW this discussion has highlighted a deck that I wasn’t even aware of. I was 100% pleased that Air Totem was getting removed because the Shaman decks that I play don’t focus on burn and I couldn’t see how a regular burn deck would care to have only 25% chance of getting the desired totem. Now my sentiment is changed somewhat - Odd Shaman looks like an interesting deck which won’t work without the Air Totem and that’s a pity. It makes me want to try before it goes away.

I think that the community here has become a little trigger-happy with the downvote button. There is little room for nuance - if you are only 95% aligned in opinion, you get downvoted. It wasn’t always like that but I guess it is to be expected as OoC becomes more popular.

Interesting note about the spell schools vs classes - I assume these come from WoW. I wonder if they ever do another grouping of classes like in MSoG, they’d use the number of spell schools to rank how ‘magical’ a class is. Mage, Shaman and Warlock with 3 each; Druid and Priest with 2; Paladin and Demon Hunter with 1; Warrior, Hunter and Rogue with none.

Agree that Natalie is not a very interesting legendary, however I’ve got the impression that she is going to legacy so yay?

On Vanessa, personally I think she’s more interesting than Edwin. Play lots of cards in one turn to plonk down a big body that you then pray doesn’t get silenced or removed next turn - that’s gotten old. In place of that, you have a card that requires a bit of that Rogue sneakiness, knowing what to steal and when, and all the while you have your opponent looking over their shoulder, worrying what they might potentially be giving you - that seems more flavourful to me.

I suppose the ‘no-brainer” approach would be to offer the upgrade as a difference of the normal and golden dust cost. I would also welcome an alternative means of getting the upgrade, but since there is no obvious conversion rate between dust and gold, I suspect they would be wary about such a system being exploited for dust (arguably the more precious of the two resources).

Recently I took the unprecedented step of crafting a golden card (Licensed Adventurer) so that I could show off the new golden coin animations. Probably not going to do that again anytime soon because it just feels so wasteful lol

“With the Classic Set joining the Legacy Set in Wild, all Classic cards and their Golden versions will now be craftable and disenchantable.”

I’m puzzled by this statement. Aren’t all Classic cards already craftable and disenchantable? Or are they just saying (in an indirect way) that you can do without them the same way you do without other sets that rotate out of standard?

    Quote From Author

The Shaman hero power is uniquely RNG-based (summons in random order) and rather unintuitive (always a different totem; stops working after all 4) compared to the other hero powers. Ever seriously discussed changing parts of it?

The fact that it's different because of those things isn't necessarily a negative to us…

I would call Dean out on this - they have avoided features and mechanics that are less unintuitive than this for the sake of new players.

New player: What kind of totems does Shaman's hero power summon?

Hearthstone: You'll see, we're not telling you!

Based on others' comments/predictions, here is what I hope will happen:

All Hall of Fame cards will return to their original sets, and will be once again be obtainable from their respective packs.

There will be a new 'core' set of cards which will include some (but not all) of the cards from Classic, as well as past expansions. 'Core' cards will be made available to all for deck building; even if you do not own a 'core' card, you will still be able to use it while it is in the 'core' set. Consequently, new players will no longer need to purchase Classic packs to get into Standard mode. Classic packs will still be purchasable but relegated alongside those of earlier sets.

Whizbang the Wonderful will be in the 'core' set FOREVER, so no worries if you have already dusted it.

I’m assuming no Choose synergies for Guidance? It would have been a nice little bonus for quest druid to get both cards without overload.
