Elden Ring. I am currently trying to do a bow only run, which might never be completed because how terrible the damage is.

As someone who just bought and started Elden Ring yesterday, that sounds extremely difficult D:

  • Something like this better? Not sure about the Combo, but if it means he can stay a 3/3/2 maybe it's fine. I don't want him to be too expensive.

    • The phrase "from the start of last turn" means Fenek is designed such-that you combo the previous turn, get it back from Fenek, then combo again the turn after him. The balance-check would be that you need three full turns to combo twice, with a "down" turn in the middle.
    • Using "from the end of last turn" instead means you prepared the combo for *this* turn, and Fenek is used at the end of the sequence to recover the pieces. You could then theoretically combo two turns in a row, but you must hedge 3 Mana off the top to use Fenek.

Cutting into the combo's Mana-consumption to save for Fenek sounds less fun, so I'm sticking with "start" unless someone changes my mind.

R - This is a great idea. I would do as Aero suggested: take the art from the first Keeper but use the "refresh" text from the second. Could definitely see this winning.

AeroJulwin - Unless I'm reading it wrong, this seems like a toxic card. R makes a good comparison to Doomsayer, but also it feels wrong if you can defend it behind Taunts or with Freezes; especially the latter, as it will reset the Freezes you did, thus making it way easier to lock them out a la Brilliant Macaw + Snowfall Guardian.

Moondreamer - I think "end of turn" effects need to be played with more, so this could be a fun possibility. But I agree with the others that the name is off-kilter with the flavor, and the Cost + draw effect is too enticing to ignore. Just a thought, but what if this was a DH card instead? Shaman has more End of Turn triggers by-way of existing longer, but this could be right at home with the Big Demons Priestess of Fury, Ancient Void Hound and Pit Commander. Plus the class received some "performance" flavor from Madness at the Darkmoon Faire, so it wouldn't come out of nowhere if this was in their Mini-Set to tie them all together.

BasilAnguis - I think this is a messy card :/ It would need to be Legendary to avoid double-Loops, and probably shouldn't cost 5 or more so Grey Sage Parrot can't replay it for absurd time-fuckery. It's a big headache waiting to be had, all-in-all…

Wailor - "Commission" is spelled with two Ms :P Regardless, I think I like Living Paradox the most.

Demonxz95 - I gave my thoughts on the Cartomancer, so just want to say that I prefer it over the Satyr. The Cartomancer is much more interesting.

  • Congratulations to Moondreamer! I told ya we had a winner already :)

2.46 is honestly higher than I expected for my card. Nothing like ending my finalist streak more-or-less by choice lol

  • Master those 200-IQ plays with Fenek's teachings. "Do the combo again, but properly this time!"

I'm at the worst mental state of my life, my creativity is gone, my passion is gone, my will is gone, and they won't come back any time soon, the whole deal of this custom expansion making for me was about the self improvement that came with it, like making cards, logos, lore, etc, but if the only thing I feel like doing now is go to work and spend the rest of the day looking at the roof waiting for the end of it, then I don't  think there's a point to keep working on it, nothing I do feels fun or meningful anymore

    ...

but my situation is critical and I must have full dedication to the treatment so I don't make something stupid.

I don't know the best words when it comes to this kind of situation, despite having lived it myself. When you reach that point where nothing seems to mean anything anymore and the most "productive" thing you can manage is just...surviving to the next day. I'm still trying to recover, even a full decade after I collapsed in a heap of darkness and loneliness. But I'm working on it, and that matters. Admit you need help, and seek it out: as far as I'm concerned there is no alternative waiting in the wings, so it's absolutely essential that you keep striving to make the only life you get a better one. For as long as it takes. Live, and fight your sorrow. We'll be here when you're ready to return; take all the time you need.

As for your project, I don't think I'm in a position to take it from you. I'm not making much progress on my own endeavors, including some IRL stuff: I don't want to get into the details, but I'm on the cusp of a pretty important life-changing decision and that needs my attention. I would be honored to work on it for you, but I can't give the expansion its due diligence right now :(

The flavor of the expansion is pretty cool, though, I must say. "Radioactive" could be a fun Keyword to experiment with.

  • Good luck to everyone in the voting :)

With the added restriction, I really like Izzy. I couldn't tell straight away if she let's you put the spell into your deck or only casts it, but either way I think it's a great design. I do suspect if it was ever released someone would find a way to break it :)

Thanks :) Only she casts the spell: you cannot add it to your deck to play the spell by itself. I mean, it technically is included in your deck while building, but it's only there to function with Izzy. I can see where that could be some confusion: hopefully that doesn't color too many peoples' perceptions the wrong way, but I'm imagining otherwise.

With your card, I think you're good to go!

I also like Bazaar Plunderer the most of the three, but two things: "Cost" should be capitalized (you did it on the Totem :P), and I think it needs to lose some stats. Right now it's vanilla with Tradeable and a very potent Battlecry; that's too much.

  • Quote From Wailor

Do you mean add a Banana and, if you have another Beast, cast another Banana on it? I guess that wouldn't be OP, but it would get a bit too wordy, I think.

I gave Izzy 5 stars, btw. She seems not that dangerous with the new restriction.

I think something like "Battlecry: Add a Banana to your hand and cast one on another friendly Beast." would work: it's still three lines of text or thereabouts.

    And thanks :)

  • Posted a new idea, but deleted my post because I just wasn't feeling it. Not overly encouraged for any of my cards, truth be told, so I decided to be bold and submit Izzy with some alterations. We'll see how low I can go with a controversial idea lol

  • I can't remember which expansion it was, but one of these times they had this Brawl the first week and it was perfect :/ There's no excuse for it beyond "we want you to waste dust creating things you might regret".

All well. Got Neeru Fireblade from my pack, so...yay?

Wailor - I think it would be safe to add a Banana to your hand *and* cast it on another friendly Beast, but you'd have to add "another" in there to avoid it just going to the Rascal. Amusing card :)

BloodMefist - I like Lord Blackhand more than the Grand Apothecary: Putress is fine, but it's a small investment that only starts to pay off after multiple weapons, and could be dangerous if something like Leeching Poison returned to prowess. Blackhand can slot directly into just about any Warrior deck that wants to work around a specific weapon (so…basically all of them lol). I'm not sure what you mean by your proposed change: you want to make the player automatically attack as the Battlecry finishes? Can't they just choose to do that on their own?

Moondreamer - Your card discourages me from trying to come up with a new idea; I honestly think we have a winner already lol :P

adamsleungcn - I guess I like Relic Chest the most? As others have said they all have some errors in wording/phrasing and need to be cleaned up. I believe the Relic Chest's Infuse only needs to say "Cast another." and it would be fine.

R - This is a lot in one card, but I wouldn't want to strip anything out because it's a cool combination. Maybe bump it up to 5 Mana?

AeroJulwin - I passionately despise Yogg and his random bullshit, but yours is not nearly as random so I guess I can give it a pass.

Demonxz95 - Beyond what I've already said about it, I agree with Wailor in-that her stats should grow in a consistent manner, just for that little extra flavor bonus.

But Party Crasher is just slightly different neutral Nightshade Bud, isn't it?

Nightshade Bud would have been an acceptable submission even if minions were not allowed because it can cast the spells from your deck; the minion part would've been considered non-relevant to the comp, albeit still a cool addition to the card. We debated a little whether or not minions should be allowed, and the group decided that they're fine. My opinion doesn't matter anymore *shrugs*

This was all an unnecessarily-verbose way of saying Yes, those two are fine. Dirty Rat, Party Crasher, Deathwing, Dragonlord, Ironforge Portal; pulling minions from the hand or deck (or the ether) are okay.

You must create a card which can play other cards.

Other "cards" or "spells"? For example Dirty Rat or Party Crasher is allowed?

As Demon would put it, if this was a physical card game, both of your examples would cause a player to place a card from their hand onto the table, effectively "playing" it. I think "play" has a slightly different definition in Hearthstone because you have to truly pay the cost of a minion to trigger its Battlecry - as opposed to summoning it randomly, Recruiting it from the deck, etc. - but Tess Greymane was an example given to us by Sothis, and she can replay minions, so we have to assume minions are allowed as well.

  • Congratulations to Foobars!

Seven people gave me 5-stars in the first round, but not one in the finalist vote? That's quite a bummer :(

  • I have two initial ideas for this one; pretty satisfied with the Druid minion, but the Legendary I pre-nerfed twice already lol:

Massive Macaw is the counter-point to Grey Sage Parrot: the Parrot replays Rune of the Archmage or Time Warp over and over again, so why can't the Druid resummon minions repeatedly?

Izzy the Overachiever could be really fun, but Survival of the Fittest from the same set makes it scary. I upped her cost and swapped Battlecry for Spellburst to make it harder to cheat out a spell before it's time.

  • Good luck to the finalists :)

  • Less than 20 hours left to submit! Lots of cool designs so far :)

  • Really? That's unfortunate; I thought that attitude made him more unique.
