As much as I believed the nerfs to have been necessary, that Monday patch caught me off guard and I was hoping I could score a few broken wins before the patch was to be live ... You snooze, you lose I guess
It feels like DH's power level didn't drop at all with these nerfs. In fact, it feels like DH is more powerful than before...
I mean, their biggest counter just got demolished so naturally they're going to perform a bit better.
Honestly, this whole DH domination thing is probably going to continue and they'll keep making small changes here and there to get the class into the spot it belongs in. This was clear from the start and they been pretty blunt about it.
Standard DH loves these nerfs. "Bringing Lord J back" is an absolute nothing argument. Rogue, hunter, demon hunter, even warrior can call knock 15 to face fairly easily. Zephyrs alone can swing a game away from a successful Lord J turn. He's not coming back (in a meaningful way) in an aggro centric meta that had one of the best counters to the leading aggro deck (DH) in Sac Pact.
Wild mages are laughing and laughing because 8 spells happens when they're on their way to 6 anyways. Two extra spells will slow them down, and that's great, but it's not going to kill quest mage overnight. Also, we kind of need quest mage to keep Raza priest in check. Btw, Raza never needed to get unnerfed, but wild isn't my main mode so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Also: Albatross moving up one mana isn't a big nerf, just eliminates the big value 3-drop turn for aggro. Anyone looking to dismantle highlander synergy still has a hugely important card available to them that hasn't lost power.
uhm...anybody else not able to disenchant their Albatross for full?
Looks like they missed a spot
Did mine on NA, EU and Asia - full dust. Checked again and still full dust for me.
oh yeah, now it works for me too. Must have been a visual bug or something
Still seeing a LOT of Quest Mages... Don't these guys ever give up?
Crushed some with Odd DH and Even Hunter but as Reno Priest it's still unwinnable (and we can extend that to any other slow deck). Time will tell if this balance is enough to cull their population
If these results are consistent through the meta, we'll be back to at least a polarized one: Combo > Control > Aggro/Tempo > Combo.
And I think that's the best we should hope for in Wild.
If Renodecks could consistently beat Combo (or consistently be Combo themselves), the meta would be ruined in a greed fiesta.
I faced 6 in a row with a Teron Gorefiend/Egg Hunter and crushed every one last night. But it was dull. Really dull.
I’m just really glad they didn’t nerf Altruis so that his damage only affected minions. With the nerf to Sac Pac, this is probably a net positive for DH at the moment
Great! Now I can safely play Magtheridon without worrying if my meme dreams will be crushed for zero mana.
Indeed--you only need to worry about Faceless Corruptor, Polymorph, Hex, Deadly Shot, and the exceptionally likely possibility that your opponent can still kill you first. All of which consume more than zero mana.
EDIT: wait, I forgot about Shadowstep. Resume despair.
Hell it was about time
Time to tech back with Kezan Mystic.
Does anybody know if I can disenchant Frenzied Felwing just in case and re-craft it later? Won't there be problems with adventure cards not being craftable until the adventure rotates?
You can safely disenchant it. The no-crafting rule applies only if you don't own the adventure.
Once you own the adventure wing, the cards awarded there are disenchantable nerf or not. Same for being craftable once disenchanted.
But once you unlock the cards you can craft/DE them as you see fit. They are only uncraftable if you haven’t bought GA solo content and then played the wings that unlock the cards.
I really hope that the Nerf to Open the Waygate will be enough to make Quest-Mage less frustrating to play against.
But honestly, I can see this turn out like The Caverns Below.
I'd say it's probably gonna be enough. I already have around 60% winrate against them using Odd DH or Even Hunter, so... Needing 8 spells to complete quest they don't stand a chance against aggro/tempo, while being less brutal against other archetypes.
EDIT: Against slow decks it's still equally brutal (my Reno Priest didn't stand a chance)
