We're getting a new round of Classic cards and with that a couple of cards are also being sent to the Hall of Fame and being replaced.
If you want to learn more about class identity and why Blizzard decided to move Vanish and Mind Blast to the Hall of Fame, check out this post from them.
- All the cards have dedicated discussion threads - find links to them below!
- If you want to build new theorycraft decks with the new cards, they're all in our deckbuilder.

Well vanish wasnt in a good place atm either way.
I was starting to get close to owning all Classic legendaries, Blizz just put me a step back.
On the other hand I never bought the new(er) Classic welcome Bundle with guaranteed Dragon legendary as I own them all, but now they added a new Dragon...can I trust Blizz that it works like I hope it works?
They look OK for the Classic set, will have to see if they have any significant impact on the game.
I love those changes. Maybe I am weird but I hate lose by being mindblasted in face by Prophet Velen with his friend Malygos.
And many of those new cards are at least interesting, and some I will craft right away like Brightwing.
Also I think its better to do something than nothing. Even mediocre card replacement is better than no card at all.
Lets take a powerful card out of priest's toolbox and replace it with something so dull that it won't ever affect game balance...
I liked every card but Legendaries. Brightwing shows another poor design of "Add a Random X to your hand" even though its a Dragon. As for Whitemane, she is literally another design failure. We already have N'Zoth or Gul'dan which functions similar of her, so why add another card that is not creative? Also, being 7-Mana can be scary compared to N'Zoth and Guldan because you will summon whole board with her for 7-Mana compared to 10-Mana. In Wild, she can be utilized as 2nd N'Zoth if executed well.
Again, I will repeat: I liked every card but Legendaries. I'm literally in love with the art of Siegebreaker but that's another story. I hope nerf bells won't toll early for Whitemane, just like for Elysiana. Otherwise, I wish the best for the future of Hearthstone.
Gonna miss you, Vanish [*]
Will people with heroes with level 60 will get the golden version of the new basic cards?
Brightwing goes into every single Dragon Hunter deck I build now. Can't wait!
Brightwing goes into every deck, dragon or not! It's so cute <3
It's only logic that they chose these cards knowing what the next expansions of the year bring. Exploring new options requires taking out some old cards. Magic does this since 4th i think. So still removing priest cards because of powerlevel makes me think priest will make a comeback next expansion...can't say i love the flash heal
Having fallen in love with the paladin Divine Shield hero power in the Dalaran Heist, I'm glad to see Righteousness introduced in the paladin classic set. A 5 mana, the cost is maybe too steep to see much play but that will depend on future cards. I hope not because I really like the idea of the card.
Loving the smaller frequent updates like this. Keeping things much fresher.
I feel like Blizzard may be starting to get a bit trigger-happy with the Hall of Fame, now rotating Basic cards and also in the middle of the year. Mind Blast kinda makes sense, but Vanish surprised me.
At least they put more effect into these cards than last time. It's cool to see Whitemane in the game, although she did already exist as a token from The Four Horsemen.
So, it seems they finally accepted my reiterated suggestion of applying mid-term mini-expansions.
Good news everyone!
I understand why the two cards are being sent to the Hall of Fame. Plaguebringer might see some play; but no one will ever play Radiance. There's a reason why no one, literally no one, has been playing Priest in recent tournaments. Radiance does not affect the board or damage the opponent. It's worthless. Yet another reason to abandon Standard and play Wild.
Something is coming in the next expansion that would make vanish / mind blast broken I believe, that's probably why are they moving 'em I think.
With Mind Blast moving to Wild, the final nail in Priest's coffin has been set. And in exchange it gets a renamed/nerfed Flash Heal (that I doubt will ever see play). So sad.
I've almost totally left Standard long ago, but I cannot find a single reason why they're keeping overkilling Priest.
Yeah, even a card to restore 5 health to a friendly character would have been better than this. Would have rather seen a Flash Heal reprint as the replacement really.
