A couple of months ago, we datamined six new heroes that were going to be added to the game. Hallow's End 2020 is bringing us two of those heroes, including a new Paladin skin - Horseman Uther.
The skin resembles the Headless Horseman, a Warcraft classic for Halloween, with a slight bit of that Paladin flair that we all know and love. The bundle that Horseman Uther comes in won't be cheap at $25 USD, though you do get a decent deal out of it if you still have cards from Scholomance Academy you want to collect.
The Horseman Uther Bundle contains:
- 25 Scholomance Academy packs
- 1 random Scholomance Academy Legendary
- Horseman Uther Hero skin

So, this hero actually has new voice lines. Or rather same voice lines but with a metallic voice. Only played one game and I'm unsure whether the hero power has a new animation - if it has I didn't notice it.
Something that I would like to see with the Hero Skins is in the "face off" at the beginning of the match, you see the whole art. In this case, you would see Uther on the horse. With the Hero portrait, I can understand it only being the bust of the hero due to size constraints. But to not show the entire art work is a slight against the artist that put work into it for the community to enjoy.
Just my two cents.
This is one of my main complaints since I started playing HS in 2016. Blizzard should allow us to see the whole card arts, some of them are really nice. But since we mostly see only a glimpse of a card... it sucks man. Just like here, it's a horseman, but we will not see it most often :(
I understand, during battle - card arts have to be small, I get it. But PLEASE give us a way, to see whole arts. During battle (in some way that does not interrupt gameplay) and in collection.
Some people just love watching card arts in details, those are piece of arts and effort from graphic developers...
I actually think the art looks really cool. Might also just be me getting quite bored of all the Paladin skins looking very similar (we don't talk about Sir Annoy-O). I'm probably going to get a ton of flame for this, but I don't mind not being able to see the horse in the skin. Did you know in the full art for Gul'Dan he's holding a sword and we can't see that either? I realise it's not quite the same, and I do agree that it would have been really cool to see the horse, but I think it looks good regardless.
I see the best example with Nemsy and the Fen Creeper for what are you saying but could be more "image wided" as it was Headless Horseman in order to see a little bit more background. The horse is not needed but maybe more than a head and a hammer :P
So this is actually Uther mimicking the Horseman?
Even being free I think that it will never replace other paladin skins as Sir Annoy-O. In my opinion that's the ugliest alternate hero skin ever.
I think this Horseman Uther skin WILL have new unique voice lines, because it has nothing to do with the Book of heroes. As Flux datamined here, there are TWO buyable Uther heroes this time:
So that means that the Second War Uther is the one from the Book of heroes and thus won´t have new voicelines, just like Sholar Jaina or new Warsong Rexxar.
It looks pretty dope. I might actually consider it if there's a unique hero tray and voicelines (A la the full package).
If not, then it's an easy and solid pass for me. And I don't think I will be surprised either. As this seems to be a pattern with portraits for alternate roles of the original heroes.
With these new heroes going on this direction, I'm starting to wish I had ignored my second thoughts and instead just purchased Aranna Starseeker's portrait which was a really nice portrait with an awesomely unique visual tray back when she was available. (I only had the budget for one bundle and I decided to save it for a possibly even cooler hero at the last minute. Like the potential theorized hero Lilian Voss - which now seems highly unlikely with the introduction of the Book of Heroes.)

I'll just wait until i see the voice lines, if it has GOOD new ones i might buy the bundle (Please have lot's of rhymes), and i still need a lot of epics/legendaries. (*Cough 2x Flesh Giant, Guardian Animals, Survival of the Fittest and Devolving Missiles....)
However if it's another 'PDF' skin, i'm not buying. Not interested in 'PDF's or recolors. Also now that i'm looking at the skin again, i hope the animation on it is good, otherwise it's ugly AF. Like seriously "horseman"... WHERE IS THE HORSE? I WANT TO SEE THE HORSE! Also the headless horseman is a WOW character called Sir Thomas Thomson, and he was a paladin before dying. So i don't know why they named it horseman Uther... (I highly recommend people to look up Sir Thomas Thomsons lore, it's good but REALLY sad at the same time.)
But does he rhyme?

I’m done collecting skins. The way this is going, by the time we are done with the book of Heroes we would have spent well over $100. Not gonna happen.

Not really sold on the skin ... why's everything always bundled up when it comes to new skins?
Me and probably many others can’t justify spending money on visuals in an already expensive game.
With this kind of bundles you buy packs For a good price and get a cherry on top.
If Jaina had come with a decent amount of packs, I’d have bought her as well.
It might be a way to "guarantee" a sale, someone will buy it either for the packs or for the skin.
