A Hearthstone patch is arriving that brings changes to the end of the rewards track, the same ones that were announced by Ben Lee a few days ago.
- The patch is now live.
- Updates on mobile will take longer.
- If you have already completed the milestones, don't worry, you will be credited.
We'll be digging into the patch and let you know if there is anything special going on.
Nothing special, the whole patch is detailed in the notes below.
Quote From Kerfluffle Hey everyone,
We’re currently deploying a client hotfix that includes the following:
- Updated items on the Rewards Track.
- Level 33 – Old: Year of the Dragon Card Pack → New: 150 Gold
- Level 37 – Old: Scholomance Academy Card Pack → New: 200 Gold
- Level 40 – Old: Madness at the Darkmoon Faire Card Pack → New: 200 Gold
- Level 42 – Old: Ashes of Outland Card Pack → New: 200 Gold
- Level 46 – Old: Madness at the Darkmoon Faire Card Pack → New: 300 Gold
- Level 48 – Old: Year of the Dragon Card Pack → New: 300 Gold
Until this hotfix is fully deployed, some players may get the new rewards but still see the old ones. If you reached these milestones before we implemented these changes, you’ll be retroactively compensated up to the level you reached in a future update.

"If you already reached the level"
Lmao nobody has reached lvl 37 unless with bots
EDIT: its lvl 33. Still seems very hard to have reached it
To add to the greedy bullshit, I'm wondering why the fuck you can't do quests in Tavern Brawls anymore. Way to alienate your casual playerbase completely.
I did 90% of my quests in Tavern Brawls because I get sick of the ladder. When the meta goes back to 90% Demon Hunters that are both gross aggro decks and OTK Combo decks without sacrificing any card quality, I would prefer to stick to Tavern Brawls. Guess I just won't play your fucking game, instead!
Or perhaps I'm supposed to waste all my dust on old cards instead of saving it for new 170 card sets so I can play Duels, the latest hotness! Fuck Arena, they don't pay enough money to care about! Like I said, completely alienating your casual playerbase.
This turned into quite a ramble... I'm going back to Heroes of the Storm. That's the last bastion of Blizzard. It's amazing how generous and community-focused a dev team can be when the corporate behemoth doesn't give a shit about it.
I understand that some of the Duels content is gated by collecting Scholomance and Darkmoon Faire cards, and that the format allows you to choose cards from old sets, but it's completely ridiculous to suggest that you can't complete all of your quests for free in Duels. Most of the quests are just "Play 3 games as [Class A], [Class B], or [Class C]" - all of which are trivial to complete in Duels, even if you lose each game - and many of the other ones are things like "Play X [Tribal minions]" or "Play X cards that [meet cost criteria]". It's honestly incredibly easy to do all* of your quests for free in duels.
I get that Duels isn't as fun when you don't have full access to the hero powers and starting treasures, or when you're missing an old card that would really make your deck better. But your initial deck is only 15 cards - it doesn't need to be some optimal list made up of Wild format cards in order to have a decent time playing.
*"All" here obviously ignores the "challenge a friend" type quests
What friends? the ones that I am not recommending the game to?
The issue isn't Duels and quests. The issue is Blizzard blatantly screwing over their casual modes for no reason. You basically have to pay money to earn gold now, unless you want to lose to 1. People who have meta ladder decks 2. People who have more choice and overpowered new heroes in Battlegrounds 3. People who have better starting decks in Duels.
I don't like Duels anyway, so whatever. I was never going to play it for quests. Now I won't play anything.
Blizzard pulling a "listening the playerbase" to make themselves look good, when those rewards were ridiculous in the first place and so clear they had to be changed.
Most of the playerbase isn't just mad for this grindy and bad rewards track, we are because the game is too greedy, it costs too much money/time to get basically nothing.
If you are unlucky, with the 80 pack bundle, you can find only 2 legendaries; the chance is low, but with the high amount of bundles ordered this surely happened. 80 $/€ for like 1/3 of the expansion, with most legendaries missing.
Oh, let's just put a mini expansion in the middle of every main expansion, because why not.
The joke that is the rewards track was just the spark that let most people realize how this game treats their customers in general. It tells a lot when people want to return to the old system, which was very bad already.
Then it is normal to complain in ladder there are always the same 2-3 net-decks, people can just build 1-2 decks, we can't afford to craft cards to experiment because they cost too much
Don't you guys have phones Time??
Don't you guys have phones Time Money??
I am still mad this is worse than the old system, just add gold to the quest rewards, Blizzard your game is already expensive enough
Deleted the game and waiting for Blizzard to do something meaningful.. guess I won't be returning.
Same goes for me too i'll have as much fun as i can with meme decks rn and in about 2-3 weeks if nothing has changed i will uninstall .. No way i'm gonna grind so much for this game already 24 level and i need a whole day of playing to level up imagine later.
And sure as hell those greedy lying c*nts won't see another euro from me. They dont respect the community we saw that many times.
Guys? I'm at level 26, and I need 3600exp (so roughly 3 days of play) to get... A single AoO pack?
Are we serious? How is this not bullshit?
So sad that they think this is remotely enough of a fix. and Why until Level 33 to replace those useless packs? Literally all of the ashes outland in the early levels are completely useless for the majority of the playerbase.
They need to change their exp math, this is the biggest problem with this soul crushing system.
This changes nothing about the underlying problem. The rewards are still worse than the old system and on top we got an atrocious grind. Blizzard you need to do better.
In MTGA you also have a battle pass, but this one was implemented much better. Rewards are better, you can buy it for in-game currency and the XP needed per level is flat. Compared to that the HS system is a joke.
So IF we count a pack = 100 gold and now we will get 1350 gold instead it is 750 gold more than before. At least something...
It seems like the community have to continue to complain about the new reward system (rightfully so) and we should get more and more little improvements. Just think about how the old system started and got improved over the time. I am carefully optimistic about Blizz and the new system, but don`t like the current outcome for the amount of work the new system offers at the moment.
Well this didnt fix anything at all. The game became so grindy out of nowhere, im 24 level and i need a total of 3200 exp to level up i mean at 40+ plus levels its gonna take a whole week to level up and the reward feels so little for a whole week of grinding. Arena players sadly are totally f****d with this system.
They need to make the exp each level needs possible for a human to farm not for robots otherwise this new system was the nail in the coffin for the game.
I mean this solved the smallest problem the community had with the rewards track? Wohoo, I guess?
Still, the worst thing is not getting any small amounts of gold in between. I am currently between Level 25 and 26 and it's a REALLY slow push and I just wanna play heroic duels, but I guess I should just wait for more daily quests, which is kinda insane. I want to play more hearthstone, not less Blizzard lmao.
On my Ipad my client crashes on Yogg saron's wheel, I hope they will fix that soon.
At that high lvls they should ADD the gold along with the original pack.. There was no reason to take the packs away. This way it´s still a silly reward for that huge amount of required XP..
Good news.
Hopefully something will be done to either make the xp curve less steep or give more xp ie better weekly quests. Or slightly better rewards along the track.
I'd gladly have weekly quests that take some days to complete, as long as they rewarded a proportionate amount of xp.
Right now chances are I am out of quests on day 2 of each week (unless I'm given quests of modes I won't play).
There is never any reason to have a system that creates diminishing returns. That is the stupidest idea anyone ever devised. It encourages no one and discourages everyone. And to move from a system of flat rewards to one of diminishing returns is the height of stupidity. Fire every single person that okayed that change
