We have entered the Wailing Caverns and are now facing the monstrosities within. Faced with such peril, it is beneficial to have so many seasoned Wild adventurers among us to guide our path with the decks they have shared.
Stealer Warlock
It's almost like we've been here before: Blizzard releases a new Mini-Set and a format-defining Warlock deck appears in Wild. At least Spinnenhonig, Mage, sense124, economicaooc, and MarkMcKz have shared their version of the newest menace out there. You'll need to get your APM up to consistently pull off the Stealer of Souls + Plot Twist-enabled combo thanks to Blizzard's animations, but apart from that the deck seems VERY strong.
Aggro Hunter
I can already hear the anguished cries of those not enjoying the aforementioned archetype, so I'm going to shake up the usual order and offer relief from Twitter. Based on GetMeowth's experience, this list should be beating the Warlock.
Aggro Shaman
MrRhapsody included ALL new Shaman cards in this aggressive list with some Overload synergy. It too might have a solid chance against Gul'dan as GetMeowth's second counter deck, although even more aggressive, shares some similarities with it.
Highlander Warrior
Enough Warlock talk, let's enjoy some other new cards as well. Kresh is just an amazing Control card with a ton of value, so its no wonder that KmemBM wants to resurrect it multiple times in each match.
Highlander Rogue
Last week we spotlighted a Pirate variant of the archetype, and now we have a Stealth-intensive Secret list from Kamouh. No need for Shroud of Concealment as you barely have any minions without the shadowy cloak.

where did the rogue deck go?
It would seem like the original version was deleted and the deck re-added to the site. Here it is again:
Thank you!
"turns where you can play a lot of cards are fun".
Yes, but only for 50% of players, eg the opponent is struggling to avoid smashing their phone or pc into the wall, while the Stealer players is having their silly "fun" OTK on turn 6-7.
Devs forget too often to take opponent's fun or at least non-saltiness into account, when designing new cards.
Even if Stealer lock is bound to be kept in check by Secret Mage, this situation is yet another silly point that Wild doesn't really need (while Standard gets only minor benefit).
Out of my last 50 games, which I think is a high enough sample size, 38 have been vs combo lock and secret mage. Secret mage keeps it in check but they combine to push a lot of decks out of the meta.
Agreed.
I know people often don't like it when you call for changes so near a near card set release, but I have to assume this will be changed.
An increase in mana cost or even better "the first X cards you draw each turn cost health instead of mana". That seems to affect standard less given wild has so many more draw cards.
No reason to stop standard players trying out the card or changing plot twist which ruins it for warlock quest players (I'm not one but if people are then be nice if they aren't negatively affected either).
Plot Twist is perfectly ok, Stealer is not.
Indeed the safest fix would be to add a card limit (first 3 each turn?) to its effect. It would actually destroy the card in Wild where it is broken, but that is exactly the purpose, while leaving Standard free to experiment with the new Pain engine.
And my disappointment goes to the devs who didn't add such a limit in the first place.
I hope they are fast with this one, I'm already kinda tired of the game on my own...
I kind of like the idea of turbo fast high power level games. It reminds me of the Historic format in MTG. I am going to get a lot of these games in while I still can because there is no way the deck doesn't get deleted. The games are fast and it rarely whiffs, so this is looking to be the easiest legend climb I will have so far.
Yeah it's mostly warlock on ladder at the moment for me, playing some version of Stealer with or without Mechathun.
Played the big version 3 times and won 3 times. Mirrors seem to come to down to who has coin.
Done my win 5 ladder games quest and will wait for things to settle down I think as I didn't find it very fun win or lose.
I don't normally play wild but I wanted to see the effect of the mini-set in wild and tried to play some matches. I've played 4 games and faced 4 mecathun warlocks which is broken as f!
Then I returned back to my beloved Standard format :)
It's not usually this bad. You picked a bad time is all :)
I know :) Time to time I play a couple of matches in Wild. However, as far as I remember, this is the third time Warlock is ruining the meta.
Team 5 needs to be testing Wild especially Warlock when they are releasing new cards..
