- All games are played as Best-of-5 Conquest.
- 4 decks with 1 ban.
- A total of 9 Swiss rounds, with Top 16 advancing to single elimination.
- Day 1: 5 rounds of Swiss, players with 3 or more wins advancing to day 2.
- Day 2: The remaining 4 rounds of Swiss and the first round of the top 16 single elimination bracket.
- Day 3: Top 8 single elimination bracket.
The Promotion Frontrunners
As this third Masters Tour is the last one that counts towards Grandmasters 2021 Season 2 promotion, we will know the names of the twelve new Grandmasters after this tournament (barring any unforeseen issues). Based on their previous success, these players are on the brink of making it.
Further information about the current promotion situation can be found in the spoiler below.
Here's the current point situation in all three regions. Current Grandmasters were omitted from the table. You can find the full point standings here.
Asia-Pacific | Points | Europe | Points | Americas | Points |
trahison | 30 | Gaby | 44 | justsaiyan | 12 |

Flurry | 14 | J4YOU | 24 | McBanterFace | 8 |

okasinnsuke | 11 | cagnetta99 | 20 |
*A relegated Grandmaster.
APAC top 2 seem quite safe without an Asian-filled top 8 in this tournament, although the APAC timezone of "Dalaran" might help the region's performance. Gaby has locked his spot in Europe but others will still have to fear for their spots as a lot of players are vying the top 4 spots right behind the players shown here. As justsaiyan is unlikely to come out of retirement, Americas is as wide open as they get. Blizzard may well have to invent new tiebreaker rules to determine their top 4.
Other Notable Attendees
All Grandmasters have been invited to the event but we have their images up on our weekly posts, so it's time for others to have the limelight! The full list of invited players can be found here.

Comments
I'm disappointed they are not using crowd funding to bump up the prize pool like they did last year.
I mean look at DotA 2, they have $40 M prize pool from crowdfunding. I don't expect HS to get that much but any additional value will surely help the players (not to mention the additional $$$ to Blizz's pocket).
Wohooo! Just got the First pack! In a couple of hours, I can close the muted stream that is behind other windows and never think about competitive HS until the next free packs... I mean tournament.
Is it 4 hours at once total or 4 hours in 3 days?
4 hours in 3 days. It can be in as small portions as you wish.
Thanks for this - I'd already forgotten it was this weekend :)
At 2 in the night? No packs for me, I guess.
Screw Europe for those packs I guess. Terrible time schedule
To some extent it is, but the broadcast still tends to be online during the morning EU hours and even all the way up to noon. So hopefully you and everyone else have found their windows of opportunity.
Ideal to watch during breakfast!
I recommend opening up the stream on your computer and idling it before going to bed. Not ideal if you like to keep your machine off when not in us, but at least you could get your packs!
