This quest is absolutely insane. Seems like it will be a very fun deck to pla
IDK , i feel like this is kinda weak. Though paladin has had it's day in the sun so not a big deal
So is it 9 different cards or 3 different cards 3 times?
3 different cards 3 times
Oh this is just amazing. No, not the reward. The fact that the second prize is to basically allow you to play odd paladin in standard. And what do we have to do to claim this prize? Play six 1 mana cost card. That's it?
So basically you fill your deck with fifteen 1 cost card/minions, get the upgraded hp hopefully by turn 3-4, and from then onwards your opponent will need to either kill you quickly, or continually respect your dudes on board because if they don't they just get destroyed either by a sudden Lightborn Cariel out of nowhere, or just plain Conviction (Rank 2).
After looking at the quests revealed so far, its amazing how slow everyone else's quests are and how ridiculously quickly you can finish up paladin's. One card alone, First Day of School, provides fuel to complete 1 tier of the quest. If there are downsides with this, the requirement is for 3 different 1 cost card. Not sure how the second and third tier requirement will interact with the first. So if I play first day of school to complete the first does that mean I cant do the same for the second and third?
To my understanding, I think you have to play 3 different 1-costs 3 times, meaning if you play Argent Squire, Righteous Protector and Knight of Anointment to satisfy the first part of the sidequest, you can use those minions again to satisfy the second part.
It feels a little weird for one drop pally to get stuff 2 years after its creation. It could be a slow wincon for paladins akin to Justicar.
Edit: I read it as though only 1 drop minions worked with this. It totally works with secrets which is why I am willing to bet that secret paladin is going to be t1/t2. Disgusting late game value for a deck that runs out of fuel so fast.
Dude pally will still be trash
This could be an alternate win condition for Secret Paladin, you don't necessarily have to make dude pally to maximize this quest
You don't even necessarily have to make a Dude deck for this to be an endgame win condition. Paly decks already run enough one-drops, between First Day of School, Knight of Anointment, Safety Inspector, Aldor Attendant, any secret, and especially Pen Flinger, which can be easily used in each of the three stages. Getting what is basically Jaraxxus' hero power if the game goes long enough could be worth diluting the opening mulligan.
