Were you expecting a balance patch this week? Think again! Hearthstone's Nicholas “DeckTech” Weiss has confirmed on Twitter today that we shouldn't expect anything of the sort, however, there is "something planned" for the lead-up into the patch.
Currently, we have some insights into what is coming in the next big patch which include plenty of new Mercenaries mode goodies (including the Training Grounds) and fixes for those Alterac Valley achievements that we haven't been able to complete yet due to bugs. With the team wanting to do "something" leading up to the patch's release, we're expecting there to be some kind of blog post or other media announcement to set things on the right path. Could there be some story that we need to be aware of before the patch goes live? Is Blizzard going to start teasing a mini-set sooner than we'd originally thought? Is Duels getting its big hero overhaul? Plenty of room for out-of-game announcements!
For what it's worth, I don't think we're getting any mini-set cards soon. That's usually the *.4 patch (*.6 in the case of Stormwind).
Regardless of the exact contents of the next patch, we're excited to see where Blizzard is taking the game this year. The Year of the Gryphon is coming to an end which means we'll have three new expansions, and probably mini-sets, to look forward to this year alongside that beautiful set rotation. With that and the new internal reorganization of the Hearthstone team to better support all of their game modes, things are shaping up nicely and although it may take a bit of time for steam to pickup, the future of the game has never looked brighter.
What do you hope comes out in Hearthstone Patch 22.2?
Quote From @HSDeckTech The next big patch is coming soon, but not as soon as people think. We’ve still got something planned that leads up to the next patch.

Pls nerf pirate warrior, I dont think that is that strong on standard but is so anoying to face, and weapon rogue and the xyrella hero card (I want thad dust :) )
It'll most likely be the announcement of the winning faction for the event and the big battlegrounds changes they promised.
The announcement for the next year of the... along with some core set card teasers will probably come after the mini-set release in late Feb, seeing as the Year of the Gryphon was announced at Blizzconline on the 19th of Feb last year.
I think the announcement will be about the winner of the Horde/Alliance honor battle, and then the patch will include the diamond card and such.
Probably later this week?
I mean, I hope they are working on known issues and glitches as much as they do for trying to conferr cosmetics. I would not say no to a nice skin(depends on me, obviously) but I would be very upset about the patch if there will be no solution for the majority of those bugs. We'll see.
Let's hope part of the big plans is to actually release a big patch without introducing yet more bugs into the system.
Oh boy, I can't wait for the Darkmoon Mini-set.
So we have to suffer through another week of Rogue dominating the meta? Wow....I can't even right now....
What I hope: A better balancing for Wild.
What I expect: A ton of bundles and pricy skins.
Every patch is going to bring in new bundles and skins, Hearthstone finally got into the proper rate of releasing cosmetics so everyone can find something they like. The bundles are also just super easy to do and good value over buying regular packs so I certainly can't fault them.
I hope they figure something out for wild. Keeping wild, wild, and then adding a new expanded card pool format that they are willing to apply some balance to would be the best way to go imo. Then they can make wild the place for cards with no changes and whatever the new mode the place for people to go that actually care about playing with thousands of cards, but with a tad less bs.
One potential solution for things getting too wild in... Wild, would be to have another game mode that acts similarly to the Brawl Blocks with rotating card pool sets. If any particular rotation they put into play has a deck or combo that is too strong they could actually just ban the problematic card(s) from that mode during that time.
I know one of the arguments has always been that another new mode like this would further divide the Wild player base and make queue times longer. But I'm already seeing a lot of Wild streamers starting to play Standard on stream because they are annoyed with the state of Wild. So what's the harm if Wild's player base is already starting to leave?
Not to mention I feel they are already at a point of critical mass in the number of cards making it nearly impossible to keep things balanced in Wild while still printing new cards meant for Standard. So it's either 1) Let all cards be and just let Wild be wild with very few if any balance changes, 2) Nerf certain cards straight to hell to essentially delete them from the game once they hit Wild and banning them until they leave Standard (ex: The Demon Seed), or 3) Make balance changes sparingly similar to option 1, but also have a "Limited" mode where they can ban certain cards, rotate through old sets for different metas, etc. The "Limited" format could even just go off the current Arena rotation list to make it a little easier.
A WILD non-curated Wild would be a nightmare and a wasteland, just as Classic. It's doing relatively fine as is now, it just needs the same attention Standard gets in terms of balance. How on earth warrior and hunter questlines weren't dealt with yet? Or [Hearthstone Card (Sorceress Apprentice) Not Found]? Why no Wild tournaments, even smaller scale ones... They're being stupid to neglect their Eternal mode. Still, here we are... since Beta and Wild-only player.
Still, I'm hoping they'll finally address it this next patch.
Don`t get me wrong, I think it is a good thing that we get more bundles and skins.
Still I wish there would be "more love" for Wild from the defs :/ ...
