I really shouldn't go for the $80 bundle, but I love dragons so much I think I'm going to have to.
Dragon Priest was my first "real" deck when I joined HS just before K&C, and I legit tried to make Dragon Warrior work after RR (to no avail) and I actually got a decent Dragon Paladin deck together after RoS. Now it looks like both of those decks might be able to make a comeback in a big way - plus very nice to finally see some Hunter dragon love after they printed Carrion Drake and Emeriss way back in WW and then nothing.
Kibler must be creaming his pants right now.
You know it's that time of the year again when Santa is coming to town and POWERCREEP IS REAL! 🎉
Dragon's Hoard is going to be really fun in Thief Rogue I think :)
Finally Nozdormu has a good effect,
Now its Illidan Stormrage's turn Blizzard !
Make a Legion themed expansion (or a year) and give some love to Illidan Stormrage !!!
I hope God hears you.
Effect is not so good because you get empty crystals but your opponent gets full crystals, but hey after turn 9 Nozdormu is just 4 mana 8/8 which is okeish...
they all are not empty btw. I played Mojomaster Zihi so much times. When you play at 10 mana you have 4 more mana to play. So Nozdormu the Timeless will probably give you 6 mana to play when you played it.
That's not how the interaction works.
Mojomaster Zihi leaves you with 4 mana because it removes empty Mana Crystals first, which makes sense. You spend 6 of your 10 available mana, then have 4 left (and in total, 5 Mana Crystals).
Playing Nozdormu the Timeless will cost 4 mana. If you only have 4 when you play it, you'll have none left (and be at 10 Mana Crystals maximum). If you had 5 mana when you played it, you'd be left with 1 mana for the rest of your turn, and so on.
Your opponent will get access to 10 Mana Crystals first. Whether or not that's too big a downside remains to be seen.
I don't know, you might be right but i think "set" mechanic works same with every other aspects of the game.
with Mojomaster Zihi your mana ends up empty because it is a 6-mana card and you pay those manas for playing it. It is pretty normal that you have ended up with empty crystals when you played it at turn 6 or playing it at turn 10 after spending your remaining 4 mana.
I still think that after playing Nozdormu the Timeless, you will have 6 or 10 mana because it doesn't say they will be empty.
Game works like; You have now 4 mana, You played Nozdormu the Timeless and paid 4 mana, Trigger its battlecry, Set both players mana to 10, Summon 8/8 body. It can even set your filled mana to 10 but it won't because we have an example of Mojomaster Zihi, which shows the spent mana for card itself remains after it is played. When you play Mojomaster Zihi at 10 mana, you ended up with 1 empty and 4 filled mana crystals.
Think about Alexstrasza, It sets the Health to 15 and it is highlighted that the health she set is "remaining" so it doesn't change the maximum health like Amara, Warden of Hope.
I'm %80 sure that you will have 6 mana to spend after playing Nozdormu the Timeless.
Otherwise, It should have been texted like "Set both players mana to 10, they are empty crystals." or sth. like that.
Downvote as you wish, it won't change the truth.
rant as much as you want it doesnt change the truth. its confirmed by hs devs that the crystals are empty
ok
I can understand believing you'd get 10 full Mana Crystals after playing it. That'd be broken, but I could understand why you would think that.
I cannot understand how you're getting 6 full Mana Crystals and 4 empty. You've already paid for Nozdormu the Timeless - why would they remove 4 of your mana afterwards?
It's irrelevant anyway - I wouldn't have so confidently stated how the interaction worked if we didn't have explicit confirmation, which we do. It works exactly like Mojomaster Zihi - you don't get any full Mana Crystals from it.
Chances are your opponent hasn't planned their deck or mulligans to take advantage of 10 mana on turn 4/5 while you have. I think the card has a chance.
Also I know everyone is obviously looking at the battlecry, but on its face it's still a FOUR-mana 8/8. That will see play late-game for sure - heck on turn turn 10 you could play Nozdormu and then Pharaoh's Blessing for a 12/12 with Divine Shield and Taunt. Or possibly even a 15/15 or 18/18 if you've managed to get some Dragon Speaker love on it
unless you're playing a mirror and are actually helping them by playing your nozdormu first
Boy, I'm really sensing some power creep this expansion
I've always thought that was sort of the idea? Since each year's 3rd expansion will be Standard for the shortest amount of time (only 16 months instead of 20/24 like expansion 2 and 1), if it's not seriously impactful it'll end up being very "skippable."
I mean look at RR - aside from a few specific builds like OTK Shirvallah Paladin or Armor Druid, how much of that set is still really used? Maybe 1-2 cards form each class plus a handful of neutrals - maybe 20-30 in all out of 135?
You know how it goes, no dragon all year and suddenly, for the 3rd and last expansion, they'll knock it out of the park!
..or that'll be 3 strikes ...
Fun video!
