We've got a teaser and the date for the start of card reveals for Hearthstone's next expansion! Here's what we know so far:
- Card reveals for 2022's second expansion begin in June 27.
- The theme seems to be Castle Nathria as we see mentions of the castle itself and a picture of Sire Denathrius, the Master.
- For those unaware, Denathrius is a major part of the World of Warcraft Shadowlands expansion. Fitting since we had that Shadowlands skins bundle last year.
As usual, you can expect full card reveal coverage from us at Out of Cards. Stay tuned for more information as it comes out.
Sidenote: Looks like our predictions of a sooner-than-normal expansion and a patch this week are coming true.

Quite the interesting theme for the next expansion. Out of all the Shadowlands lore and (lack of) storyline, I'd say Revendreth and Castle Nathria was the most interesting of the lot.
Also seeing as this is "Cora's baby", I'd guess we'll be spoiled with some interesting legendries and probably a unique take on the reveal video
I hope it will be a very cool set with very cool cards, because I am already intrigued, and I really want to buy a Mega-Prepurchase!!! :D
I'm too, tempted but it's fairly expensive. Never purchased a pre-order bundle before, maybe this is the time.
I just thought of something. When was the last time we got an actual demon synergy? I just realized that the tribe feels so abandonned.
It's a tribe mostly for DH and Warlock.
Demons dont go to the shadowlands, but to the Twisting Nether. I do love to see Kil'Jaeden though.
I mean, Sigil of Reckoning and Caria Felsoul. But the only Warlock Demon synergy in Standard is Shady Bartender.
Well was aslo the legendary totem for shaman, and then not a single new totem printed until it rotated out.
So never know for sure with blizz
So, less gold for next expansion packs truly happening..
I was expecting Pandaria or Iron Horde.
I only have a vague idea of what's going on in Shadowlands.
Out of all the things from Shadowlands that could make its way into Hearthstone this is honestly probably the best possible choice! Castle Nathria was a lot of fun and Sire Denathrius was a fan favorite so should be interesting to see what they do with it. I wonder which class will get Sire as their Hero Portrait my guesses would be Warrior(because he is mostly a melee character) Warlock(he created the dreadlords) or Priest(because shadow priest have vampiric themed abilities)
Probably going to be for warlock. Or mage, because its almost always mage
Nah, it's somehow going to be Mage again.
I hope they give it to Demon Hunter, because DH hasn't had a portrait since Aranna. It's not a perfect fit, but then also how the hell is Rastakhan a shaman?
Doesn't Rastakhan summon totems in his fight in BfA? As with many NPCs he doesn't fit neatly into any one playable class, but there is some shaman-ness in him.
As for whether Sire Denathrius is a good fit in DH, the class did get the Ember Court Illidan skin which was basically Denathrius. So clearly the devs think DH is a good fit. Hopefully they don't count that skin already existing as a reason to hand him to someone else.
I haven't played WoW in years, but I was under the impression that Rastakhan was a prelate for some reason. Looking at his fight, he does seem to mostly use Priest and Shaman abilities. Fair enough, then.
Hearthstone tends to generalize troll loa powers as shaman/witch doctor powers unless they are directly linked with shadow magic, in which case they are priest.
We got other Prelates in Rastakhan's Rumble that were represented properly. It's more that at the time Paladin already had Liadrin, Arthas, and Annoy-O while Shaman only had Morgl, so they gave the portrait to the class with less alt heroes. I hope they do the same with DH.
(Hasn't stopped them from adding a pre-order Mage portrait every year for the last three years, but whatever).
What can I say? A majority of the most powerful and famous characters in Azeroth have been mages. For characters like Medivh, Khadgar and Azshara, you really don't have any other choice.
I guess the space expansion comes last then.
Also a weird choice seeing how Shadowlands wasn't exactly a well received WoW expansion, but I'M a sucker for dark gothic horror so this might tickle my special area.
