Comments
This is faceless Shambler as a spell. Faceless Shambler only ever saw play in Handlock. Priest is not Handlock, so this will not see play.
Wrong. Faceless Shambler only copies your own minions. This can copy enemy minions.
Okay? This card is still super weak. Every class has had access to Faceless manipulator too, and that hasn't seen any form of play despite only costing 1 mana more with a much stronger effect.
Looking back at comments now in retrospect. Boon is now in 1.6% of decks with a 50.5% winrate, so like I said, it is playable. Just a mid tier card, not a great one.
After the meta changed multiple times??? Dude, you can't say you were right when it took three months of balancing for a card to only be at 50%.
It's a decent card. Buff 1 minion summon another.
What did I just watch ?:D
Kyrian here means just like a common minion right? Imbued with Taunt?
So, in the end, I kinda have to praise myself for guessing correct.
Every class getting some kind of army fighting the board,
Mage volatiles, Pally dudes, Warlock imps, and Priest with Kyrians.
Hunter would likely have beasts, Druids treants, and Shaman totems/murlocs.
But honestly, I still haven't figure out what army is Warrior gonna get. If more pirates coming, it's kinda boring and stale.
Warrior 100% gets Maldraxxus, which is where the strong warriors who weren't virtuous enough to make it to Valhalla go. It'll be a control archetype of some sort.
Probably a card you'd want out of discover, because at present its a fairly high cost card with very little immediate impact on board. Power Infusion enables value trading, potentially an additional 2 damage to face, and enables trading with higher value minions, and even that card sees no play right now, where standard is at its weakest. And there's a lot of argument can be made that this card can't outshine that.
On the other hand, it does create another minion on board, and if that minion is big like say, Pelagos himself, you might just create a monster that requires destroy effects to get rid off.
But hearthstone being what it is, it'll be a tough sell for any priest card that requires a board to work, hence why cards like power infusion consistently sees little to no play despite it being arguably a good card on its own. I think this card would likely end up in the same boat
Azsharan Ritual but better.
I think with this and Azsharan Ritual . silence priest would be thing again.
Using "cannot attack" minions might be the way to make it work indeed, as without discounted huge minions, it's going to be hard to find a good target for this spell.
This spell + Pelagos + a random big minion = a lot of sticky minions and you've probably won
Pretty sure Pelagos activates after the spell is finished, so the copied stats would be the original before the Pelagos effect.
If the new set has any Stealth or Dormant minions, those actually might be worth trying out with these new cards alongside the previous dormant minions. It seems much too slow to actually win and has no obvious win conditions as yet, but it seems neat.
Naga is super-tight (and not good enough imo; far too fair) and though it wants Pelagos and this, I doubt that there's room.
