5 star card due to no room for weapon removal in my deck :(
Pretty good miracle payoff, the second one in that category in fact. Just need more miracle support.
Draka on the expansion artwork: absolute milf
Draka on her own card: monke mode
just plain boring
True.
unless there are a few new drawing / cheap cards to play, it will be of no use ...
I don't think it needs all that much support to be good enough, because of the 3 durability. Coining this out on turn 3 gives you a Spider Tank + a 2/3 weapon, that's pretty decent at that stage of the game. I don't think this is a build-around card, but it is likely a good addition to any low-curve deck.
It's pretty clear there will be ways to enable miracle-esque turns for this and Sinstone Graveyard that we have not yet seen, so I'll hold off on analysing Draka's power. For now all I can think of is using UiS's deathrattle stuff to gain a bunch of coins. I will point out though, Cora did say the rogue suspect [Draka] is very spicy, so don't sleep on this card.
For her flavour, this is quite a neat way to show she's a warrior at heart, supplemented with her recent rogue training. Also, her art is unusually dynamic for a minion. It reminds me a bit of Edwin, Defias Kingpin, making me think they actively wanted super-dynamic art for these cards that scale with the number of cards played in the turn (which makes sense since rogue only has that mechanic to represent speed and agility).
Basically its Spectral Pillager, but in weapon form, meaning you can't just Shadowstep this card and deal damage twice.
Its certainly going to see play, simply because it deals direct damage to face and theoretically if your opponent has no viper then you just won the game. The main problem, is obviously if they do have viper then you're looking at somewhere around 5-8 damage, which really mellows down what this card is capable of doing, considering that you've likely thrown your entire hand to do it.
For now, its not yet obvious where the reload is, because even with cards like Door of Shadows, rogue still draws fairly poorly and struggle to fill its hand with cheap enough stuff to take full advantage of octobot and Field Contact.
Can get better with more support.
It strikes me as weird that the Attack-buffing effect on the weapon isn't a Combo effect when it seems to work exactly the same way.
No it does not, it equips a 1/3 dagger even if this is the first card played, unlike combo cards
Well yes, but the Attack-buffing effect is basically identical to Combo.
I think they are just trying to avoid having Battlecry and combo on the same card. Also I don't see a way how adding combo would shorten the text here.
To be honest, this type of effect never needed to use the combo keyword to begin with, since the description of the effect already specifies everything that distinguishes combo from battlecry: that another card(s) has been played first.
I'm also not sure it would function identically here, since the buff coming from combo would likely make it an enchantment, while the current wording sounds more like modified base stats. I don't think that matters outside of using Doomerang, Hoard Pillager and Rummaging Kobold, but it would technically be a difference.
4 mana 3/4 body that doesn't do anything aside from giving you at least a 4/3 or 5/3 attack weapon, which is vulnerable with all the vipers around.
And that is even a dead card in your hand for sometime, until you have some playable combo in your hands.
I can't see this will see play. Not at least with tempo. 2 stars from me.
If you can make a big minion with a location for free and get a big weapon, that seems like a pretty decent power turn. Honestly even just Coining this out on 3 might be ok to clear out some early aggression while getting on the board, I think this will see play for sure.
Btw this should have been Marks reveal, this has OTK potential ... somehow?:d
Even if you can craft a deck that could play 30 cards in one turn, the animation slowness makes it unlikely you'll actually be able to execute it. Spectral Pillager OTKs already require good APM and there you can take advantage of a doubled battlecry, but in this case that will just override the weapon instead of giving you twice the damage.
