first day golden craft .
a 1 minute cooking video followed by a legendary blowing itself up .
Blizzard really made me wanna craft Murozond day one, I tell you hwhat
For real, where is the AmazingLP reveal video? I can only assume they were too busy to do one, since they put all other reveals to shame.
I just want to point out that with this reveal every single Legendary card has been revealed prior to the final reveal stream. That's a first. I still plan on tuning into Kripp of course, but I'm surprised they didn't use the final reveals as a hook for the stream.
Shaman Galakrond hasn't been revealed yet, as far as I can recall.
I don't know why people are calling Murozond a worse Tess. I think it's quite the opposite. He is a Tess that you have more control over. With Tess you need to: build your deck around her; play cards that add random cards from another class that's not Rogue to your hand or deck (these cards are highly inconsistent); draw those cards if they were in the deck; play them; draw Tess; play her; profit (or not).
You can just throw Murozond in any Priest deck, draw him, wait for the best moment and play him to get more consistent value. Just getting an extra big minion already makes him a worthwhile tempo play. If that minion has some other immediate effect (like Kalecgos), you can get some crazy value.
This legendary can be many things: an 8/8 that summons one or more minions (with abilities or not); an 8/8 with a board clear attached to it (like a Flamestrike); an 8/8 with a Puzzle Box of Yogg-Saron attached to it. This card is incredibly flexible surprisingly. He is actually a great card. Way better than Tess, for sure. The downside is only finding the appropriate time to play him. Shouldn't be that hard.
I think the main Issue here is the situations you want to play him you can't afford it.
If your opponent played a Puzzle Box the board is most likely clear...so why would you play a puzzle box of your own?
Same goes for Flamestrike.
The best situation I can imagine is your opponent playing a Dragoncaller + Flamstrike + some trashmob, which you can then Murozond into to basically pull an UNO-reverse.....but that's about it.
If your opponent plays a Tirion or an Octosari or whateveer big thing we'll be playing, you usually want to get rid of that card instead of just copying it.
Murozond is good in a value race because he can basically just copy your opponents most valueable minion and add an 8/8 on top...but that's only really relevant in a value based matchup...and if that value based matchups involves battlecries rather than raw stats you're screwed.
what ? why wouldn't you want to play this if he has flamestrike.. even if he has no minions you're playing an 8 mana 8/8 for tempo its not ba
we don't play 8-mana 8/8s just for fun. There'S a reason why Ironbark Protector has never seen play.
An 8/8 that does nothing is worthless unless you're desperate
And that's exactly what i meant when i said that finding the most opportune moment to play him is his drawback. You can't just throw him on the board (unless you are ahead). You need to analyze your current situation and what your opponent did last turn to determine if he is worthwhile. I said it shouldn't be that hard but maybe it is pretty hard. I could be totally wrong. In that case, he's probably some kind of luxury card that you can only play when you are far ahead of your opponent. Pure win more card. Then, he is bad. But we have to wait and see before judging and saying he is worse than a card that's been in the dumpster for the longest time and only found a little bit of sunlight when it's about to rotate.
I... um... Hm. I have no idea how to really value either of these cards.
Faceless Corruptor: Very much feels like a value-trade card. Take an on-board trade, then drop this, transform the crippled minion and double trade. The trouble is... Priest does not exactly lack for AoE, particularly not in this mana range. Sure, they're not as aggressive than this is, but they're a hell of a lot more aggressive. I can only see this being desirable if Priest spontaneously manifests a tempo-oriented deck with the expansion - certainly possible, but I don't see it happening.
Though I will laugh the first time I see someone Corrupt an Albatross and get lethal with it.
Murozond: As I noted in a reply to a pre-existing comment, in support of someone who already posted - comparisons to Tess Greymane are foolhardy. One requires you to build an entire deck around her, the other is a specific mirror of a turn (with some bits missing or randomised). I really have no way of judging the card right now as by its very nature its playability will heavily depend on what the meta looks like post-expansion. However, I can definitely see this being played as a value counter-drop if fat-arsed Dragon decks are rampant.
Just pointing out, in case you didn't notice: Faceless Corruptor is a neutral card, not just a Priest one.
Yeah, you right. My bad on that one - I guess I tunnelled on the Priest legendary. Will have to revise my thoughts on it
Murozond doesnt trigger minions battlecries
here Yogg was played and it just summon Yogg
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A2eKkRpxDKw
Tess does not play out summoned minions battlecries either. Makes sense this wouldnt too.
Maybe he hasnt casted any spell that game, and thats why it didnt trigger any spells.
omg, after this i m 100% sure, another useless priest Leg, Spells are random, minions without battlecries, the hell you need rng based 8 mana minion, who can t be played when you want but only when you see Opp played ok turn for him? Too many conditions
And that's how a card goes from 5 stars to 2 stars. Unless you're facing a spell heavy opponent, this card is on average a worse Tess. Maybe I'm wrong, but I can't picture one situation in which this card would be worth it, except maybe if your opponent has played Dragonqueen Alexstrasza and the two 0-cost dragons in the same turn, or a Shirvallah in a turn that doesn't involve the OTK. I guess it's decent if your opponent plays a big taunt
Of course it's a worse Tess. If Priest had Tess it would be ridiculous. You can't really compare class legendaries like that. And besides, this is not a deck build-around like Tess. This is a tool to play against certain decks and at certain moments.
You refuted your own point there. Just in the process of writing your comment you came up with several very good occasions to drop this card. Obviously, like every tech tool, it will be a bad drop if it is not doing its proper job, but again like every good tech tool, when played at the right time it can cause huge swings. If things like big taunts, or Shirvallah, or ramp/cost reduction tools become popular, this card will be a great arrow in Priest's quiver to catch up to those decks.
I share Inconspicuosaurus' frustration here. And for the record, Murozond really isn't a worse Tess. Its effect is weaker, that's definitely the case. But on the other hand, you didn't have to fill your entire deck with random-generation garbage just to make it do something. Spells notwithstanding, you have a solid idea of what you'll get when you play it, and you can hold it until you need it or see a good opening.
