Comments
No more Amalgam in Battlegrounds is huge. I do think it's a good change in the long run though. The difference between getting an Amalgam and getting your 30/30 Divine Shield, Taunt, Poison fortress or not was the difference between making it to Top 4 or not.
The Boogeymonster needs a straight up buff, it still won't be picked on Tier 4. Why not make it so it actually keeps the +2/+2 it gains. Best case scenario it gets like +4/+4 in a single fight. Two buff minions or just one with Brann can already do that easily. It has no tribe so you can't buff it further or give it anything (other than Carl giving it Divine Shield).
I mean they tried... But still room for improvement
DID they, though? I mean: [Hearthstone Card (Faceless Corrupter) Not Found] is in 55% of all ladder decks right now with a Played Winrate of 53%, and their solution was to reduce its attack by 1. I don't know about you, but I'm keeping my 5 mana double 4/4s. And all the Shaman-specific changes aren't much better.
Really, the only upside I see here: people who have already climbed ladder for the month with Galakrond Shaman might be incentivized dust these eight cards and have some fun with other decks for the next 2 weeks before inevitably recrafting them all in January.
I will still disenchant them... I mean if they are still in meta I will recraft them with no dust loss, but I'm not taking chances... even if we think nerf is nothing big, usually players are not all that good at predicting such stuff...
Ok I see... Bow down to our Pirate Warrior overlords it is then...
🦀 Amalgam is gone! 🦀
Although, now I fear a meta where Demons reign supreme, and they can only be checked by poisonous Murlocs. I think we may see some people being forced to pick up at least a couple of Poisonous Murlocs to fend off the Demon hordes.
I am a little surprised that the Shaman nerfs were so light. They didn't even target the real problem, which is Galakrond's Invoke.
The BG changes are much more bigger and it will shake the meta.
Corrupt Elementalist
Does not address the actual issue with the card, and with Galakronds Invoke.
Sludge Slurper
Why? Yes this is a powerful 1 drop, but not a card that needed to be nerfed. Are they playing the same game as us? This reminds me of the Hex and Flametongue Totem nerf.
Faceless Corruptor
8/8 in stats instead of 10/8. The attack wasn't the problem. This just... wow... again makes me question if the devs are playing the same game as us.
Mogu Fleshshaper
Eh? I mean... why do they keep skirting the issue of mana cheating with evolve effects and just address it already? The community has been loud and clear about how they feel about it, is there some magical explanation that we are missing here as to why they refuse to address the mana cheat with evolve issue?
These nerfs just feel very out of touch with the game. I'm also concerned that there were no preemptive nerfs. My gut tells me they got these nerfs wrong, and they will have another round of nerfs coming next year after Blizzard's holiday break. This is just what they could come up with before they ran out of time.
Truly disappointed, this s**t is killing my will to play hs once again.
Try Wild. It is pretty balanced at the moment, with a few Reno decks be viable.
ok, awful changes, i think, i m leaving hs again.
I'm honestly surprised they didn't touch Necrium Apothecary. I haven't seen the deck enough in action but I hope it will have some proper counters unlike the current meta beast.
Personally, I thought they’d already hit that card by making it so I never draw the card when it’s in my deck..
I fear Battlegrounds just became Murloc or nothing... removing Amalgam means no other archetype gets the same access to poison.
I may be wrong but that archetype was already really strong...
Yes, the only likely way to contest poison murlocs will be to go for Cobalt x2, and lots of Microbots magnetized on to your other 5 minions.
I am worried about the prevalence of poison for murlocs and no other viable single shot removal for any other clan now. On the other hand I am glad to see the MASSIVE amalgams go away. A lot of the games I play are recruit amalgams or die. This definitely makes the Collector hero more powerful with the 1/1 amalgam though.
Great that these nerfs have been announced.
But what about the big offender? We all know what card I am referring to. Yes that's right, Ramming Speed!
Totally busted and should be nerfed right now.
The fact i opened 5 of these (1 golden) is in no way a factor in how I feel.*
*this is a lie
I feel your pain brother.
60 packs opened 9 epics and 4 of the bloody things turned out to be Ramming Speed
lol
Mate we need a drink in the tavern sometime. Maybe found a Ramming Speed Nerf Now! action group :P
Indeed, and I personally want to see those algorithms that saw me missed out on all the good epic cards while piling me up with 4 duplicates of the same card.
Card should be nerfed to 5 mana. Because we definitely think its busted like hell and deserves to be nuked to 8 1/2 mana at least.
