Yesterday, it was teased to us that Solid Alibi and Lab Constructor would be nerfed in a patch. Today, that patch rolls out along with some extra bug fixes.
Quote From Blizzard Patch 27.0.3 is a data-only patch, rolling out today, with the following updates and bug fixes.
Hearthstone Updates
Dev Comment: This is a smaller, numbers-only adjustment intended to address negative play experience outliers from the first few days of the new expansion. There will be another patch a couple weeks after this one where we will have more data points to make larger adjustments to the meta, if needed.
- Old: [2 Mana]
- New: [3 Mana]
- Old: [4 Mana]
- New: [5 Mana]
The above cards will be eligible for a full dust refund for two weeks following Patch 27.0.3.
Duels Update
- Mechwarper has been banned from deckbuilding and all card pools.
Bug Fixes and Game Improvements
- [Hearthstone] Updated Sparkbots to better match their colors to their effects. WARNING: Wear proper safety equipment and read card texts to mitigate the risk of misplays while handling Sparkbots.
- [Hearthstone] Fixed a bug where Dormant Titans could activate their abilities (kind of), causing issues.
- [Hearthstone] Fixed a bug where the Korean language version of the Forge tooltip displayed incorrectly.
- [Hearthstone] Fixed miscellaneous localization issues across languages.
- [Duels] Fixed a bug where Open the Doorways didn't trigger off of Symphony of Sins or Snack Run.
- [Collection] Fixed a bug where the Sargeras card back appeared as unowned and couldn’t be favorited.
Comments
The change to Solid Alibi is likely just a touch to keep it playable while making it worse in terms of win rate. Because lets be honest the card has one of the worse win play rates in mage decks over the last 1 year, so I can understand team5's reluctance to nuke that card.
But I feel at some point its demise is inevitable. The fact is that solid alibi remains one of the most infuriating cards to ever be played against, and doubly so when it out from a discover option. With mage having OTK potential back into its fold, you cant have solid alibi still actively being playable.
As for Lab Constructor, it absolutely needs to be taken down a notch, but its not anywhere near the problem with mech rogue right now. The biggest problem is not stealth, its not labby here snowballing, the biggest problem is actually allowing the sparkbots to have windfury, ensuring that even innocent boards can turn hard into an OTK. Removing windfury will go a long way to making the deck more balanced, even with 4 mana labby.
2 mana or 3 mana, it doesn't make any difference for Solid Alibi.
Also, the problem with trading still persists which I mentioned in this thread;

nice bug fix Blizzard.
