Blizzard has announced that the Twist format will be disabled for the upcoming December and January seasons. Don't worry though, it will be making a return in February with "a fun new season". We're not sure what is preventing a season from taking place, but it is certainly disappointing to see support waning for the newest format to join Hearthstone.
Quote From Blizzard Journey to Un’Goro has come to Twist for the November season, now live! Head to Twist now to dino-size your climb. After the November season, Twist will be temporarily disabled for the December and January seasons. We look forward bringing Twist back in February with a fun new season!

Its likely something to do with them creating new sets like CoT, all in time when the midset comes round so they can force a few people to pay real money instead of gold to play both twist and standard.
Or perhaps its true enough that twist is simply not doing as well as blizz has targetted and now they are restructuring the team. Same thing happened to duels and currently that mode is just a shadow of what it once was.
Either way, at least for me, I wont be missing this mode. Hearthstone is stressful and expensive enough on standard alone. Imagine having to cough out more money into another mode that'll likely be printing yet more OP cards to skew the previous meta and then demanding money for it.
the only reason I liked twist was Wild updates, not always good updates but for me something is better than nothing, even if it buffs already strong cards
Just curious what source you have regarding “waining support”. If you’re saying that just due to two months with no season, I’m not sure that’s the same. We were told from the start that some months the format would be disabled.
And people were downvoting me when I said this mode was dead on arrival. Classic died for this and classic was at least fun and nice and cheap to play
Flux's article is a little dramatic. Pauses in Twist like this were planned from the start. Pretty sure when it was launching they mentioned how it wouldn't always be live and might go dormant for a month or two at times.
classic was boring nostalgiabait grabage, good riddance
Agreed! It was fun for a little bit and then got boring because nothing was ever going to change in the mode. At least Twist will have a rotating card pool when it's live.
Even though Twist wasn't a big hit, I've never had to wait in queue for too long, so there must still be a decent amount of people playing it.
Creating a Twist season shouldn't be that much more work than creating a Tavern Brawl. But we rarely see new Tavern Brawls anymore either. Are they so severely understaffed that they just can't find the time?
Please buy our already niche Caverns of Time bundles, and then you can't use them for two months.
They not any good in Wild or something?
The Caverns of Time cards with the highest play rate in Wild are 3.6% Invigorate followed by 1.4% Chamber of Viscidus. No others are over 1%, and there are 147 cards in the set.
Only 34 of the 147 cards are new, and those are two of the 34 new ones. Some of the older cards in the set also had a big boost in play, even if only temporarily. Namely Tiny Knight of Evil. But they pulled back on part of its buff when they also nerfed Chamber. Those hurt the deck and it has fallen out of favor since.
Personally, since I already had close to all the reprints in my Wild collection, it was fairly easy to get the new cards with minimal investment of any kind.
