Oh boy! Dean Ayala has announced that some cards may be getting their nerfs removed when the next expansion releases.
Dean was out on the official forums very late last night talking about the Standard meta where he dropped the bomb. We don't know which cards will be changed back to their original glory or if they will being doing so at all, but we should expect an update "soon". If I were to gamble, I'd expect to see that information alongside the "Year of the" announcement that is likely hitting at the end of this month.
Eligible Cards Nerfed During Year of the Dragon
These are all the card changes we saw during Year of the Dragon that will be rotating into Wild this April.
- Dr. Boom, Mad Genius - Cost increased to 9. (Up from 7)
- Ghostly Charger - Beast tag was removed.
- Giggling Inventor - Cost increased to 7. (Up from 5)
- Raiding Party - Cost increased to 4. (Up from 3)
- Reckless Experimenter - Appended the text "Cost can't be reduced below 1."
The changes to Extra Arms and Luna's Pocket Galaxy are not listed here since they both were buffed and then reset back to their original costs and we're not sure if that makes them eligible.
Quote From Dean Ayala For Wild, we’re looking at some of the nerfs we made to cards that rotate into Wild with the next expansion and seeing if we want to revert any of them. Will have more updates on that soon ™. Good luck and have fun!

I feel this should happen more often. Way way too often cards are nerfed in both formats only to address a balance issue in the standard format, and then the cards are never reverted when taken out of standard.
Also, old cards should see some consideration for being restored to their original forms as well. For example, Grim Patron Warrior would have to play much more differently than it did in the old HS that was its stomping grounds, if only due to more hyper aggressive decks, easy access to big taunts in warlock via Voidcaller/Voidlord/Skull, as well as Ice Block in mage + Reno. The deck would not be anywhere near as oppressive as it was in old HS.
Unnerf yogg or I kil.
Patches can also be unnerfed, by adding it rush.
Mostly I just want yogg unnerfed.
Out of the ones mentioned in this article, the only one i think that should be unnerfed is Dr. Boom. It never saw much play in wild when it was 7 mana since the death knights are better value anyway.
Please god please, I really hope they unerf yogg
Hence your profile pic?
Also how do I change mine?
Edit: found it. My phone was causing issues with the layout.
Dr. boom MUST be unnerfed... no way its going to see some play in wild at 9 mana.
Well... to be fair, not even at 7 it was good in wild...
Man, I wonder if they'd dare to revert the Nerf on Raza the Chained.
No they wouldn't. That era was cancerous and unfun.
Wild priest is going to need a broader selection of competitive wild decks eventually (although Dragon/Reno Dragon Priest is still quite a decent deck to target aggro and midrange, contrary to popular belief)
I wouldn't be so sure about it being cancerous nowadays. There's way more disruptive Cards now and even some more HP related tech Cards (for example the 2 new Cards we got in DoD). Also, don't forget that we're talking about Wild, the format you could easily be dead on t5.
big priest is even more cancerous since it is the only deck for priest that is viable since raza nerf. honestly, i would really like to see them unnerfing raza
I'm more waiting for a general review of wild instead of unnerfing cards.
At the current state of wild, none of the cards listed will have made any impact, nerfed or unnerfed.
Yogg and Patches would be great.
Unnerf Dreadsteed please. It was my favourite card back then.
Agreed. The reasoning for the nerf was extremely weak and not even technically true to begin with
Blame Defile for that. If needed, they could maybe change it's stats to 5 mana 2/2 to make it stronger overall and cure the Defile problem.
Honestly there isn't even any problem with Defile. Ever since Defile came out there never was an infinite loop, as stated by the designers. I play the Deathspeaker OTK with Knife Juggler and Defile and the Defile 'infinite loop' has always auto capped out at 14 procs of the Defile spell. That 14 proc cap has been around for well over a year already. The design around shutting down infinite loop interactions has been addressed for most card interactions as soon as, or soon after, their release so I'm really annoyed that they nerfed Dreadsteed, claiming that an infinite loop issue was the cause for the nerf, when Defile had a cap after releasing anyway.
Just seems like a really dishonest and inconsistent way to nerf a card that saw no actual competitive play.
Then Lord Godfrey becomes a problem. Sorry, Dreadsteed was never going to be a meta card, no point twisting and turning for its sake.
Yogg and patches plz...also could you please do something to warsong commander
