In a tweet this evening from Conor Kou, the visionary behind Hearthstone's Battlegrounds, we may have gotten a clue that the next Battlegrounds content update is close!
Now, in this tweet, Conor also included an image of a Dragon, but not just any Dragon, its Deathwing, Mad Aspect! Blizzard has stated in the past Dragons would be added to the game mode before the Year of the Dragon was over, so it only makes sense that it really is "just around the corner" with us only having another full month prior to rotation.
This was not the exact image tweeted by Conor, this is actually our article image.
What Dragons would you like to see in Battlegrounds? We'll be sure to keep you posted on any new details regarding Hearthstone's Battlegrounds, and anything else Blizzard could be announcing soon. If previous years are a good indicator of when the next Hearthstone year details are going to be announced, it should be either this week or within the first couple of weeks of March.
Quote From Conor Kou So, any update on that content patch that was "right around the corner" two weeks ago?
It's reeeeeeeallly just around the corner ;)

Thinking of the Battlegrounds Meta, Chillmaw would be great. Would synergize well with Baron Rivendare
do you think it will come together with a new arena rotation? i surely hope so...
Sure is a big corner to go around. I think it will be March before we hear anything.
So I guess we'll get a Fireside Chat: Year of the X (Phoenix seems likely) today or Thursday, and part of the announcement will be: "Dragons are now in Hearthstone Battlegrounds! Download the update now!" Or at least I hope so...
Yes please!
Dragons in battlegrounds. So... I had been excited for this, but then a few weeks back, I looked at all the dragons available. Unless they print some BG specific dragons, it's going to be difficult to make the existing tribe effective in BG's (I'm taking into account that Blizz will nerf Demons soon, at least they better because BG's are unplayable right now)
So many dragons have powerful battlecries that won't help in BG's, or require holding a dragon. Are we really going to have to hold onto a dragon the whole game just to get the most out of this tribe? I'm interested to see what Blizzard came up with to bring them into the mix and hopefully be a viable strategy.
Here's the dragons I can find that would be playable/not worthless in BG's. Some of these may be too good, but I'll put them here for discussion purposes.
Sleepy Dragon
Bone Drake
Drakonid Slayer
Razorgore
Scaled Nightmare
Cobalt Scalebane
Dragonkin Spellcaster
Scalelord
Everything else seems unplayable in BG's to me, and even some of these are questionable.
I'm pretty sure Primordial Explorer is viable in Battlegrounds.
Cobalt Scalebane is interesting, but please no Scalelord. If divine shield poison murlocs don't need to rely on Gentle Megasaur anymore it it will be a nightmare.
I believe they have said all of the dragons in battlegrounds will be new, noncollectable cards.
Well thats more than enough. With 2-3 battlegrounds only cards thats pretty good. But i am pretty sure Scaled Nightmare won't be in BG. With some Healthbuffs its unstoppable
It could easily be a 5 star card. It might be difficult to buff dragon health. Plus it will take 4-5 turns until this card really starts killing.
It‘s basicly a delaid Maexxna, nothing broken imo.
Cant see how dragons will work without a lot of unique ones added. "If you're holding a dragon" just doesn't seem like it would fit.
"Dragons? Dragons!"
