Funtrol Reno Shaman

Every expansion, at some point or another, Control Shaman is a deck that I always come back to playing.  There's just something about the playstyle of it that I enjoy so much.  In Rise of Shadows, Control Shaman got a few new toys in the form of Swampqueen Hagatha and Hagatha's Scheme as well.

I should note that this is not an optimized deck and I've built it for the maximum amount of fun and enjoyment.

To spice up the deck a bit and make sure every game is different, I run a lot of random card generation.

Witch's Apprentice Card Image Haunting Visions Card Image Jeweled Scarab Card Image

Jeweled Scarab is one of my favorite cards to use in Control Shaman because Shaman has a lot of good 3 mana cards.  Lightning Storm, Elemental Destruction, Healing Rain, Healing Wave, Electra Stormsurge, Zentimo, etc. and the fact that it curves into the discovered card is so satisfying.  Weaponized Piñata can lead to some unusual interactions if you get a Legendary from a different class and it gets brought back by N'Zoth, the CorruptorHaunting Visions is essentially 0 mana discover a shaman spell and works great to get more value from Krag'wa, the FrogWitch's Apprentice, Menacing Nimbus, and Stonehill Defender all can be played in the early game and make Shudderwock fill our hand with a bunch of fun random cards.

Speaking of Shudderwock, I am not using him as an infinite combo, but rather as a one-time value bomb.

Reno Jackson Card Image Shudderwock Card Image N'Zoth, the Corruptor Card Image

Fully healing your hero from Reno Jackson, filling your board from N'Zoth, the Corruptor and filling your hand from all of the card generators and Krag'wa, the Frog, Shudderwock will often close the game or pull you back into it.

Healing Rain Card Image Hallazeal the Ascended Card Image

One of the most amusing parts of this deck is all of the healing it has.  I have received many a Threaten Emote after healing to full health for the 4th time in a game.  Obviously Reno Jackson and Shudderwock can fully heal, but a combination of Electra Stormsurge and Healing Rain can do it as well as the good old Hallazeal the Ascended + Elemental Destruction + Lava Shock combo. Jeweled Scarab, Witch's Apprentice, and Haunting Visions can often provide even more healing and you can guarantee even more with Krag'wa, the Frog!

The Memes:

The Darkness Card Image The Runespear Card Image Weaponized Piñata Card Image

Yup, these cards are actually in the deck.  Since this is a for fun deck, I've included some bad cards with silly effects.

The Runespear is sorta like a mini Yogg-Saron, Hope's End, but more controllable. There are a lot of decent untargetted spells you could get from it and it's always hilarious when you roll Crackle and it actually hits the opponent's face for lethal.

I'll be honest, The Darkness is only in here because I crafted it for memes with Gral, the Shark and this seemed like the most viable deck to include him in outside of that.  This deck can easily drag games out so he'll likely wake up at some point and Shudderwock can help with the process too.  I've actually found The Darkness to be pretty helpful as a tech card in some cases.  The Darkness Candles can shut off enemy Reno effects and Odd-Cards like Black Cat and while dormant, you can use him to play around positional cards like Supercollider and Meteor.  I also feel like there's a psychological aspect to it that makes opponents misplay at times.  In control matchups, I feel like my opponent may be holding onto a removal even when there's a perfectly good target to kill with it on the board just in case The Darkness wakes up.
