I agree that this is not an aggro deck, i made some changes, the notorious one is the inclusion of Mountain Giant, and went 22-11 from rank 4 to rank 2 with 3 stars. I was surprise how well Mountain Giant perform in a tempo mage deck.
what did u replace for the giants?
I actually cut 4 cards, in order to add 2 fireball as well, I cut Witchwood Piper, cut Frost Nova , and one Mirror Image, and one Shooting Star .
P.s. sorry for answering so late.
If you want, I made a video, and you can check the deck in action.
If you play this as tempo deck, you gonna have a bad time. It is more like miracle/combo deck.
Been playing this with much success. Agreed on what others here have said. You need to wait to do anything (other than absolutely necessary removal and hand thinning to avoid overdraw) until you have discounts + Flamewaker. Most of my wins come with nearly all the damage on 1-2 turns. Most of the games I lost were because I just could not draw Flamewaker or Sorcerer's Apprentice. I think the winrate on HSreplay will go up once bad players stop playing the deck.
imo it's better played in a more combo style. When playing against it you can just remove threats as they come, as long as you can put high health minions down or heal then this mage deck is shutdown. the combo style is harder to play around, can destroy your board, put you on low health and build a board in one fat turn.
Deck looks OK, but winrate is terrible...
Depends on rank. Below rank 10 ppl run murloc shaman like its the last dsy on earth. Also ive seen dome ppl butcher the piloting by just playing waker or sorcerer without anything else
I watched TheFishou playing it today, it seems quite effective if played more like a combo deck (drawing cards, discounting them, and waiting to play flamewaker until you have a lot of 0-cost spells in hand), probably people is playing it more like a Tempo deck.
precisely. its not an aggro tempo deck. its get the cards u need and go to town, with so many spells that u otk ppl with 30 health
