This is the party that I used to take down Ragnaros. All of them are rares, and some you even get for free, so this party is extraordinarily cheap. I guess you can see it as proof that you don't need to buy many packs to play this game.

General Strategy

Usually you want to start with Xyrella, Cornelius Roame and Blademaster Samuro. Make sure to place Cornelius in the middle.

Xyrella and Samuro are doing their combo with Blinding Luminensce and Double Strike on the same merc pretty much for as long as they are alive. On turn 1, Cornelius often attacks the same target to make sure it dies. On turn 2, Cornelius Holds the Front gaining taunt and healing both Xyrella and Samuro. And on turn 3 you can either choose to attack with him again or use Blessing of Sacrifice to help out Xyrella or Samuro if one of them is in trouble.

Cariel Roame is used as another taunt. The second turn she's in play you usually want to use her Seal of Light to heal up whoever needs it or buff the attack of one of your attackers while keeping them healthy. But don't forget to look out for opportunities to deliver a final blow using Crusader's Blow. Its deathblow heals all your mercs.

Scabbs Cutterbutter is basically a second Samuro. His Tactical Strike also combos with Xyrella and because he's generally not being used on turn 1 he could also be used to immediately do heaps of damage with Wicked Stab the turn he comes into play. Shadow Blade should only be used if Scabbs is about to die to squeeze out another turn with him or when Xyrella is already gone rendering Blinding Luminensce + Tactical Strike no longer an option, though Tactical Strike could also be combined with Cariel's Taunt.

Millhouse Manastorm comes into play near the end most of the time to take out whoever is left using his Greater Arcane Missiles.
