  • There are a few deck where this can be an insane opener. If you're on the coin and you have another 1-mana card it's also pretty good.

    Perhaps it replaces Blazing Battlemage?

  • insane in paladin with First Day of School now every deck can potentially play a Flame Imp.

  • Lot of decent-good 1-drops this expansion.  Could be a Flame Imp level good in some decks, but it's not good enough to run in every fast deck out there.

  • A nice 1-drop for aggro decks with enough spells.

Probably does pretty well in token druid, but a lot of aggro decks don't have very many spells they are willing to play on turn 2, making the card less universal than it looks.

  • Very powerful with The Coin or any cheap spell. Imagine playing this turn one into Adorable Infestation on turn 2. This kind of reminds me of that one pirate in Mean Streets who had +2 attack when you had a weapon, only spells are a lot more universal than weapons, so I imagine this guy will be just as good if not better.

  • Remember Small-Time Buccaneer? He used to have 2 Health, and was then nerfed. This is pre-nerf Small-Time Buccaneer that's easier for most decks to activate. It not being a Pirate is a small price to pay. Really good card.

  • I guess it is good in a smork deck with cheap spells, like mage?

  • Basically its Small-Time Buccaneer all over again. But this has the problem only really being possible inclusions into aggro shaman and tempo mage.

So perhaps that's good enough to make those decks work, and to make this card utterly hellish.

  • Very good 1 Drop for almost every aggro deck!

  • T1 this + T2 coin edwin = 3/2 and 4/4 for aggro rogue, but in general idk if aggro want to play spell in the first few turns.

  • Great 1 drop. Will certainly see play in a bunch of aggro decks. Does the +2 atk stay? if so then it's REALLY good. If not then that's okay, it's still a big burst of damage. Will see plenty of play.

  • Ok, so a neutral Flame Imp that doesn't burn you. You probably want to follow up with a 2-drop minion rather than a spell, but what if it's Power Word: Feast? Not bad at all.

I couldn't have said it better. And yes, I remember. It was a dark time. And he was in charrrge.

  • In a land where 1 mana 1/3s are praised, any 1 mana minion that can easily become a 3/2 is king.

  • I really like this as an early option for some decks - I think it's cool that you really need to be running a decent amount of low-cost spells to actually turn it into a powerhouse.

    Also he's kinda cute ngl

  • On turn 1 with a cheap spell this card is strong...but what if we haven't the spell? 1 mana for 1/2 is terrible. So...I think we need some test to see if this is consistent strong

  • I like it a lot

  • After considering it a bit more I got it from 3 to 4 stars... This might give me gadgetzan flashbacks if it is good

  • Seems very strong but its competing with Battlemage.

  • This is a really good card and will see play in some decks.

  • It's sort of like small time bucanneer pre-nerf and mana wyrm, where Small time bucanneer gained +2 attack while your player had a weapon equipped, and  Mana Wyrms attack bonus was based on spells played. However this minion can only gain 1 attack buff per turn, but it's a fairly large increase for 1 spell.

All the classes received very cheap, very flexible spells this set, I wouldn't be surprised if this minion found it's home in a competitive ladder climbing deck.

Tempo Demon Hunter could make use of this minion, they use spells such as twin slice and spectral sight that can increase this minon's attack permanently, it's hard to say if it could take the place of Battlefiend in the decklist. Other spells Demon Hunter could make this work is Demon Companion and Double Jump.

  • It looks good, but Blazing Battlemage can kill it. I think it will see play.

  • Card art is from out of HearthStone universe. But it's a really good card.

Situational, but very good. Not exactly for every deck, coin is great yes, but it's a 50/50 chance and aggro wants to go first, right? It will work for sure, no doubt about it, but not quite as universal as battlemage.

    • For whatever reason, this guy's posture reminds me of Anakin trying to show off to Padme by using the force on an apple.

  • Meh, if it can survive 1 turn it can become .... average. But i don't see it getting played

  • This card will be great in multiple agressive deck. I can see it being played in Tempo DH, Aggro Rogue, etc.

  • I think this is a really solid 1-drop, and it will probably make the cut in many aggro lists, especially after the upcoming rotation when Blazing Battlemage leaves standard.

Generally, 1-drops with an upside do well in Hearthstone, and I expect this one to be no different.

  • I could see this in a Token Druid with Gibberling because they want to run a bunch of cheap spells that summon minions and buff. The archetype now has Lightning Bloom as well, which makes this like an easier to activate OG Small-Time Buccaneer while playing another early drop.

  • Small-Time Buccaneer feelings. People will break and abuse this in no time, mark my words.

  • Very good card that I think will see a lot of play in faster decks. Good contention against 1/3 minions.

  • It’s alright I guess, though it does require some second card to be worth it

  • 1 mana 3/2 ... with coin.

  • DH got more annoying and insufferable.

  • I can see this finding a home in a Burst Mage/Spell Damage.

  • Solid turn 1 opener if you have a spell in hand to use the effect

  • Tempo Priest?  Turn 1 play this into Power Word: Shield and you have a turn 1 3/4.

Solid 1 drop for tempo decks.

  • Probably see play in aggro/zoo/token. Especially if you can buff this card on turn 2.

  • Quite a strong card, specially if you're holding onto the coin.
