  • This is a goooooood card. The type of shit Zoo needed.

  • I really like the way they executed this ability. Most cards like this are terrible value when you play them, and are only playable when you discard them. This card seems to be on a good middle-ground. You could reasonably play this in an egg warlock, but it is also, obviously, good in a discard warlock. 5/5 stars.

  • I really like the flexibility of this card. A discard mechanism that still has use if you need to play it normally.

  • Really like this card seems really good on power level if you discard it you get a bonus but it's not a 3/3 it's good enough to play for 2 as well (There's still some sacrificial  tools in zoo.

  • I'll use it in my Wild Discolock and you can't stop me.

In Standard I feel like it'll only be used as more self destruct fodder (although we don't have a ton of support for it as of now).

All the Discard support we have right now are the ones that discard the highest cost card (which this most likely will never be, so no point there).

Would have been sick with the Rastakhan's rumble stuff, but I guess that wasn't meant to be.

  • Just meh really.

The discard synergy really isn't that good, considering that the more powerful Hand of Gul'dan is probably the preferred target for discards.

Even the deathrattle isn't that good neither, the 2/1 being susceptible to a hp ping, so Serpent Egg is still the better egg choice at the end.

  • Not so relevant in Standard

  • Good for Zoo - i like it!

  • There's a lot of things to consider when looking at this card:

First: The deathrattle can be activated by either traditional means OR by discard. which means that if you get lucky with a Soulfire spell, you can get 2 2/1's for the price of 1 mana that removes a minion. You can also use this card with say Felfire bolt for the same effect, but that's 3 mana and really at that much you can just use shadowbolt (which doesn't see much play these days). But since this card HAS a death rattle I'm certain this reveal is a precursor to a future Warlock spell that requires you to kill off a friendly minion for it to activate (like Grim Rally or Unholy Sacrifice).

I also wouldn't be surprised if a Priest/Warlock spell will be the one that activates this card on your turn, since both classes have had an affinity for triggering deathrattles.

Secondly: Discard - this is going to seem incredibly appealing to everyone, but bear in mind Warlock's strongest (i.e. most used) discard minions say "Discard the HIGHEST cost card in your hand" and play them with Hand of Gul'dan. That's not saying you can't sculpt your hand to have this as your highest cost card but I feel if you were to mulligan for a card to discard it wouldn't be this.

Third: The zoo. People are going to say this is a great zoo card and I agree, in no large part because Imprisoned Scrap Imp will be in standard until the end of next year. a 2 mana 3/3 with a death rattle to summon 2 2/1's is pretty strong. There's options to use this with Teron Gorefiend as well to activate it and then summon it again at a later time.

TL;DR it's really strong for aggressive and mid-range decks.

    • A card that fits into both egglock and dicard synergy? Sign me up!

  • It wouldn't be a HS expansion if zoo warlock doesn't get something.

I don't know about discarding it tho. Since many of the standard "discard stuff" cards target your highest cost card. But you can just pay 2 mana and play it on the board yourself.

  • Discard warlock gets another discard target, and this one is pretty good.

The only real downside is that the card is not great if played from hand instead of discarded, but hand of gul'dan has that problem and is one of the best cards in the deck. Looking forward to using this.

  • The Soularium went away too soon!

  • This has potential.  Discard aggro in wild is pretty strong.  Not sure if this gets played there.  Maybe this is better than the 3/3 but i'm not sure.  If we get some good aggressive disco cards in standard i'd love to see that be a deck.

it's going to be in standard with the rushing 5/5 and hand of guldan, which, especially hand of guldan, is the card that makes disco lock viable.

  • That is some nasty looking egg! The discard synergy is cool, tho i dont like discard decks myself. Zoo will like this a lot tho.

  • Eggs fit in every meal.

  • This card definitely has potential, but I don't think it reaches it knowing what we know so far.  Serpent Egg give a better stat spread on hatching and there arent actually that many cards that will hit this from discard since many of the run effects target the most expensive card, which will almost never be this.  Warlock also doesn't currently have much in the way of making use of more bodies since Grim Rally rotated, but I remain optimistic in the Warlock reveals to come.

  • I like this card for pushing Discardlock, an archetype I always want to see more of. If you can discard it early enough, it'll be a solid 2-drop. However, the longer the game goes on, the less value this card has. The value of this card really depends on whether or not we see more support for Discard mechanics.

You can really see what an impact discolock finally has in wild when after making "draw 3 cards" (~4.5 mana) in the previous expansion, they make "summon two 2/1" (~1.5 mana).

  • Creative ability. It's not too great if you have to play it, and then pop it, but it at least it's always an option you can use. Discarding it though is obviously quite nice.

And we cross off a bingo square.

  • I love this Design having been playing a shit load of Discolock in Wild.

Not sure if this will find a home in Wild, and doubt Discard will be good in Standard, but I love the design!

  • Well looks like Zoolock is back. Zoolock loves egg-cards, and this gives really good tokens! Those 2/1 stats are amazing for aggro! And it even has discard synergy?!? That's really nice! Discardlock is already a really strong deck in WILD, and they will definitely use this!

Edit: In standard this is a card you don't mind discarding from something like Soulfire, so having this card in hand lowers the chance you discard another Soulfire or another card that is important.

  • Zoo lock are always loved by player and this card (like almost all egg) fits well the archetype. In wild this card will shine for sure thanks to the  Discard synergy and better card for the zoo

  • Seems decent if only for giving discard decks more redundancy and options. Though with Silverware Golem part of the strength was having a higher health minion early on for free. 2 2/1’s really aren’t that resistant to board clears

  • That's the level of creepy artwork - just look at those tokens!! - that I would have loved Witchwood to be at ...
Instead we got a phantom grizzly that was deemed too ghostly ..!

  • Only looks like a decent card in Standard. It does synergize with the new card Disciplinarian Gandling, but my main issue with it is how to reliably trigger its discard effect.

  • Eggs are fun, but this one is a little on the weak side. The disco synergy is really nice though, so I guess this could be used in some zoo build.

  • A nice little card I guess syncs with discards that new legendary and other sacrifice effects since you get spiders and whatever the sacrifice effect is.

  • There's finally enough discard synergy to make disco-lock viable since we just got Hand of Gul'dan. I'm seeing disco-lock a LOT in wild, and they don't even run the flashier stuff like the quest. It's very powerful. This might be useful in that deck, but it's not strictly better than what they're already running.

  • Very good, especially when combined with Disciplinarian Gandling. No synergy with the current discard package that's being ran in Zoo, but a worse Scarab Egg is still good.

  • The art kinda creepy, but the effect seems playable, but not for me i think

  • If you compare to Serpent Egg, it is a weaker Deathrattle. However, its true power lies in the fact that it can represent 2 free 2/1 tokens. If warlock had more control over low cost discards, this card would be at Silverware Golem levels of power.

  • I'm glad discard warlock doesn't get any powerful cards and just this thingy... useful in zoo maybe?

  • Discard warlock keeps getting tools n.n

  • Definitely the most eggcellent card of the set.

  • Discard zoo loves this

  • A nice Discard card.... Oh also another egg i guess

  • You don't really need discard for this to be good.

  • Discard Beast Warlock. Find ways to copy this card and you have a full board of spiders.

  • I don't see this being played in standard much as the competitive discard synergies that see play right now revolve around discarding the highest cost card of Skull of Gul'dan. Maybe if a deck cares about destroying friendly minions this could find a home. In Wild, this fits pretty easily into Discolock as they don't care as much about the targeted discards and just want as much discard synergy as possible.

  • More eggs! Yes!

  • This likely won't be super strong in standard, but wild discolock is having a party right now.

Maybe we will see more discard support in the future with targeted discard and this card will become more desirable in standard.

Alright egg, but two 2/1's aren't the best payoff for an egg.

  • Good if you can trigger it as a discard. Ok if you do the deathrattle route.

  • Here we go again! Discolock Fever! Third (forth? fifth? eleventh?) time is the charm!

  • A very old school type of card, reminiscent of Nerubian Egg and Haunted Creeper from the Naxx days. Warlocks generally have no trouble blowing up their own guys, so this will be easy to take advantage of when you want to get all Zoo-ey. The discard synergy is the cherry on top, for wild players especially - eggs and silverware and fists a'-flyin'!

  • This is cute - the discard protection is a nice bonus to the card, but I like that the base card isn't useless if you just want to play it out in a traditional swarming deck. Warlock is always looking for more eggs, and I think this will easily make the cut.

  • Looking forward to using this egg in disco zoolock, it'll probably be used more with EVIL Genius than a discard target

  • Good for zoo

  • This card has maybe the creepiest artwork of the lot.

  • I do not like the illustration

  • I  would LOVE to see more discard cards like this. Love this direction. Now if only Warlock could get a Legendary that let's you pick what cards get discarded.

  • I will try this on a wild discolock, it seems it have potential

  • Interesting card, might see some play.

    Mah card.

Maybe Next expanions supports discolock, but now the discart carts discarts the high costed cards.

  • Good to see they still remember to add Discard synergy!
