After six years of playing Hearthstone, I finally made Legend.
If you would've told me a year ago that I would be hitting Legend I would have doubted you. I've never played to reach legend until this month, and the reason why? I was having fun.
I casually climbed the Wild ladder using Quest Mage up until Diamond 6-7, then Scholomance Academy came out and I went ALL the way back to Diamond 10. Then I stumbled across Discard Warlock which took me to Diamond 3, then loss after loss to a different kind of Warlock got my attention. The new, big, and scary Pain Warlock took me to Legend and I got that sweet, sweet card back.
Climbing the Wild ladder was fun, and I'm glad I got to see alot of old cards I've forgotten about while climbing. Now I'm hoping for a new Format so I can see more old cards get played again.
So what's next?

Congrats mate! What legendary did you get?
I've been playing since LoE and finally hit standard legend earlier this year after being a dad legend player for a good while before. It's nice to be able to mess around with less competitive decks in dumpster legend without that niggling voice telling to focus on climbing, and to know you've maxed out your rewards for the season. I'm also having a go at the wild ladder now - hit r5 this morning - and just enjoying the game before next week's ladder reset.
May all your legendaries be golden.
Congrats! I reached legend for the first time in Wild too, and it was a truly satisfying feeling. Enjoy it!
I also hope you got a better legendary than I did (Hogger)!
Thank you! I was satisfying after hitting rank 1 like 2 or three times this season before I made the final push.
I got The Black Knight but I already had one so it was a free 400 dust.

Thank you! I got The Black Knight
And now that I've hit it I don't feel like I need to ever again. I could go after the rewards but I don't want to play to the point where I experience burnout.

Congratulations! :)

Congrats! Got my first one about a month ago using Even Shaman. Completed my Classic legendary collection with a [Hearthstone Card (Natalie Saline) Not Found]. I kind of was the same: didn't really care to grind, but decided to try this new variant of Even Shaman with a lot of Totems as I hadn't played my favorite class in a long time. And not only was I having fun smashing opponents with Healing Totems, but I kept winning and winning all the way up to Legend.
Quick! Someone give me something clever to write here.
Congratulations! Hitting legend for the first time is a great feeling (I've only reached once, but reach the diamond top ranks every month in both Standard and Wild, usually). Happy for you, see you out there on the ladder!
Same feeling here. However, Legend is luring me back for my homebrew decks (to prove they are decent). I don't like the stress of the grind tho, so I am there, at D1 with Aggro Reno Paladin, slowly climbing, playing 1-2 ranked matches every 3 days or so because that's the maximum stress I can afford. Jeez...
Luckily, the new ranked system with shorter stilts between floors helps a lot with competitive anxiety.
Anyway, congrats on your first climb!
Congrats griffior!
I agree with you and RavenSunHS. I made it to legend in Standard in the old system once with Mech Hunter which was great because I "discovered" the viability of the deck before it became popular. The experience wasn't my idea of fun nevertheless. Same goes for wild, where I did it with Darkest Hour Warlock merely 2 days before the nerf bat killed it. I don't think I'll ever do it again, since I'm playing to have fun in both formats right now, which means constantly switching between decks and trying out off meta stuff like YourPrivateNighmare's Hunter deck.
I notice I am confused. Something I believe isn't true. How do I know what I think I know?

Congrats!
The pleasure is mine.
My last standard decks: nothing special right now.
Thank you

Thank you!
I think if the new ranking system didn't exist I wouldn't have climbed as much as I did. It really does incentivizes players to try harder.

Thank you!
It's so nice being in Legend so I can goof off again with whatever I can come up with/find.
