Unity, Precision, Perfection !
Hey look it's Yrel! At an extremely weird time I have several questions.
1. Why is she on Azeroth didn't we leave her in another dimension?
2. How does this relate to the fair? Are some classes fighting it while others joined it like ROS?
3. Will this be super annoying like Zilliax?
I only know her from HotS, but isn't she some sort of holy paladin that protects the innocents? If so, I can see how she is standing against the darkness(in this case old gods) from a pure character standpoint.
While that is true I'm just trying to figure out how she got here since she was left in Draenor in WoW and then went to start her crusade for THE LIGHT! And I get hearthstone doesn't really stick to WoW lore but if I recall correctly Yrel was dead in base Draenor and only alive in an alternate timeline thing. Not to mention she later became a fanatical maniac and crusaded for her cult so I guess maybe this is just a lore break like all of MSOG or SA.
I was expecting that Yrel would be no-neutral card after we saw almost all of Draenei's are also no-neutral cards.
Well in WoW she does start a weird cult based around THE LIGHT and culls people who don't join it so I can see why she's paladin
What can I say except "Deus Vult"?
I don't know if this card is as good as people are saying. It's basically Shirvallah, the Tiger locked at 8 mana. The only advantage is it also has taunt, which is admittedly a big deal. But man, 8 mana is a lot for an anti-aggro card. Shirvallah saw zero play outside of OTK shenanigans.
On the other hand, Zilliax was a no-brainer in every single deck and even saw Wild play. On the other other hand, that was also 5 mana, which was often just in the nick of time to slow down aggro and net you 6 health and clear two minions. Yrel wins the game the moment she hits the board against an aggro deck, but it's 8 mana. That's late enough that it might be overkill.
The card is obviously good, but I don't know if it's good enough. Tirion sees no play. Lightforged Crusader doesn't see play anyone. I'm not that hopeful.
Against for example Face Hunter, turn 8 is too late. But versus a slower deck like Soul Demon Hunter, the healing will be very useful.
Tirion Fordring is not a fair comparison. If It gets silenced or sapped it's basically you spent you're 8th turn to no effect. This gets you 7 health off the bat and probably kills a minion as well, so even if it's dealt with immediately, you got at least part of it which may be enough.
Shirvallah forced you to play a whole lot of sub-par cards. Pure Paladin is already a playable+ deck, this just adds more to the power. I will definitely try to run in in my pure Paladin that already does well.
Welcome back Zilliax!
You’re as beautiful as the day you left us..
Looks like Blizzard has finally blown linkblade's cover as Head of Paladin Card Design.
He'll still do well elsewhere in Paladin, even without Yrel. :)
😂 He'd do well in that job for sure.
Pretty insane card in Pure Paladin but limited to it. Pure Paladin is strong right now and this makes it even stronger but it doesn't alleviate the archetype's main weakness of getting shut down by enemy shuffles. Bomb Warrior will keep the archetype in check and, in case it isn't enough, we still have Bad Luck Albatross.
This card looks crazy good. I like the Pure archetype already, so this is exciting.
We need someone to check in previous occasion if an archetype have ever been supported again by blizz in the coming year.
Otherwise this would be only good in this year only. I hope not.
Successful and balanced archetypes are supported year on year as a matter of course. There is no reason to think Pure Paladin won't follow suit.
There are many, many more. Basically, if an archetype is fun and not super bad or too good, Blizz will keep supporting it. They ditched Inspire because it sucked, they ditched Odd/Even because it was oppressive. Otherwise, they'll keep making cards like this that support their successful ideas.
Pirates had weapon synergy from the start, but Warrior-specific pirates started in Old Gods (N'Zoth's First Mate, Bloodsail Cultist). Pirate Warrior became a top deck because of Patches the Pirate in Mean Streets, but it existed before.
what i actually mean is "literally the next year", i know we will get supports in the future. But if it comes like two year later then we can't play it in standard at the least.
My example is like that of Lucentbark and maybe Making Mummies.
If we continue to get good class-card for pally, then maybe we still can run pure pally with this legendary as the sole payoff.
