Interesting buildaround... need to find which high cost low attack minions are there in warlock
The mana cheating potential of this card is pretty huge and that can make a big difference in slower matchups. But it doesn't fix other issues plaguing slower Warlock decks like their vulnerability to burn. I like this a lot but it's probably meta dependent. If this burn meta continues and Warlock doesn't get any other ways to heal then it's probably going to be too slow.
Reminds me off Luna's Pocket Galaxy.
alot worse then galaxy though and warlock doesnt have the cheat spel out stuff mage ha
I miss Luna's I used be able to make my 1 Spell Mage work for memes
Despite it's cost, I am 100% sure control decks would love this. Changing the cost and attack is very good on many cards warlock has.
It might not be as strong as Pocket Galaxy, but as a walock user, I would be happy to decrease cost of the cards I draw for future comeback.
And there are so many high cost minions with low attack, so the trademark is not that big issue if you can go through it after using the spell.
Sure, it is clunky to use it, but we have seen Clunky turns for Mage with Pocket Galaxy and they still are be able to win due to drawing "1 mana" minions. I Believe it is the same thing for warlocks just with various costs instead.
If you can survive a turn after using this spell, you could be in a very strong position.
Play this with The Darkness in your deck. Play polkelt. Play holy wrath.
Good luck consistently getting holy wrath in a warlock deck
You're viewing it wrong. You're meant to get both Holy Wrath and Deck of Chaos in rogue as the backup plan for when you don't draw Gral, the Shark.
It's a joke......
Soo Malygos. You can play Maly-2x Breath and 1-2 Soulfires dependant on discard. Or just 1 RoF 1 SF. Okay this card will not make Jaraxxus great it will make Malygos a thing again again.. again... Reminds me of pocket galaxy.
Really fun effect! I just wish there was a reliable way to tutor this card. I feel like Lorekeeper won't be that effective at fetching this due to all the high cost cards this deck would probably be running.
Speaking of which...would you need to play Polkeit before you play this? Or does he arrange by OG mana cost?
Okay, so this card is crazy good. But it also has some notable problems in that it usually makes you put lots of expensive cards in your deck with the hopes of playing this on curve than thereafter snowball on value. So in addition to not dying by turn 6, you also have to pass a turn.
Right on top of my head, this is a handlock card or another dragon/maly combo card, which makes notable strong cards cost much less like Zzeraku the Warped, Malygos, Archwitch Willow, Enhanced Dreadlord, Abyssal Summoner etc.
If you're playing handlock there's just no reason for this not to be in your deck, but I would be surprised if this ends up anywhere near tier 1. At best its tier 2, and at very worst its just nothing more than a meme, like poor archwitch willow.
Interesting effect, but I doubt the reliability mage has ways to cheat out pocket galaxy, druid has ways to ramp up to or cheat out their big spell. Warlock not so much. And the effect I wouldn't say is worth using either. This is probably intended to make bad statted minions see play but I dont know if it's worth doing. 4 mana exotic mountseller? I doubt it.
If it was in your deck and hand I wouldn't be as against the viability.
What the heck, this card is insane. What warlock cards all have much higher cost than effect? Lord Jaraxxus? Archwitch Willow? Voidlord? Of course, who could forget the potential of a 4-cost Malygos?
No jaraxxus lol he is still gonna be trash and you spend 6mana doing nothing.
Malygos for wild mechathun will be easier and faster and more reliable.
voidlord /dreadlord uh we got voidcaller and skull already
ALSO 6mana do NOTHING to board AT ALL.
and standard warlock lakcs big demons for willow.
It depends a lot on what the meta looks like. If its aggressive, then 6 mana with no immediate impact is very tough to recover from. If it is control and value heavy, then it won't be much of a problem a lot of the time.
If the meta is slow, a 3 mana Jaraxxus should not be dismissed lightly. Pressing the button on that turn makes it 5 mana for a 6/6 demon, a 3/8 weapon and an insane hero power. There are certainly match ups where being at 15 health is perfectly fine.
even fi itts slow this wont be good with jaraxxus imo at all.
the 15 hp CAP will still be to bad and warlock doesnt have much if really any healing in standard atm not can it really play the slow game well and 6mana to do nothing the board at all is just not good/great regarldess of macthup, much worse vs aggro but even vs control you give theme a free turn to punish you still.
Control decks rarely do anything significant on turn 6 if there is nothing to react to. Certainly whatever they do won't be high enough tempo that you cannot make up for it, especially since the 6 mana was invested in high tempo plays later.
The thing is Jaraxxus has been good in the past - not often, but it has happened - so there are definitely metas where you can cope fine with 15 hp. He was even decent during Classic, when warlock had practically no healing and there was no reliable way to make him cheaper than 9 mana. That isn't to say he definitely will be good, just that it is easy to mistake weaknesses during one meta as being important in another one, which isn't always true.
