Personally, I’ve never understood the purpose of a post like this... Oh well, to each their own.
Dh is nerfed... Again...
Am i supposed to be surprised?
I 100% beleive the nerfs wont make standard meta any betetr and just worse wiht more classes/decks dead/in gutter in even more unhealthy meta(partially due evolve) cause blizz has no foresight when comes to doign balance chanegs at alll.
An incomplete set of nerfs is not the same as a useless set of nerfs. If evolve shaman ends up needing a nerf they can just nerf it later.
I don't really see why you think the nerfs will leave more classes "dead in [the] gutter" than there are currently. It is clear that these nerfs will help out the current worst classes (druid, priest, mage and warlock) because whatever happens to the meta, it must slow down at least a little bit. Certainly it does those classes no harm, and a shift in the top decks might well do them more good than the mere improvements to win rates against DH and hunter.
In the end, something will be the OP top deck that people complain about, and that happens whether you nerf cards or buff them, and even if you have perfect foresight when doing so. All that really matters is that nothing is so dominant that it suppresses half the classes simply because they have inherently bad match-ups against the dominant deck/class.
And the bad classes wills till be bad after the nerfs, blziz just hates giving tools people need to answer stuff in standard
Bye bye my golden Polkelt! ^.^
Only downside for me is, that my Aggro-Druid got nerfed by this patch. But I think reader is still viable in this deck (maybe now only as a one off).
EDIT: Oh by the way, Reader is now available in odd decks in wild... this will be "funny". ^^*
I wasn't expecting a nerf to Dinotamer Brann at this point. Seems a little bit late for that. The card isn't an issue in Wild, either. The pay off is much weaker now. It's a one mana discount on King Krush with an irrelevant 2/4 body attached. There are other early game cards that could have been targeted to weaken the face strategies (Intrepid Initiate is a big offender) without hurting the late game finishing potential in slower decks. It's just another hit to late game strategies for Hunter (Guardian Animals was the other one). The 8 mana curve is all messed up now.
Blade Dance is weaker now but nothing has been done to alleviate the high damage problem in DH. They can still gain huge amounts of attack and that probably still makes Blade Dance very efficient at what it's already doing. I don't think this will be impactful enough.
Shardshatter Mystic now has the correct cost. It should make DH more vulnerable to aggression but the card is still equivalent in power to Duskbreaker so that might not be enough.
Dreadlord's Bite wasn't something i was expecting to be nerfed. The card is strong but it doesn't feel all that broken. Maybe i'm just blinded by the other almighty cards from the class.
Finally they decided to address Voracious Reader. Hopefully, this will slow hyper aggressive decks enough that they will simply vanish in favor of aggressive midrange decks. The card itself can burn in hellfire though.
Lorekeeper Polkelt enabled so many strategies but people ended up picking him up for hyper aggressive strategies. Hopefully, this will keep him viable for slower builds and kill off his viability for hyper aggro decks. It's good that i have a golden copy so i will gain 1600 dust for free, basically!
The brann nerf seems bad to me
What is the point of playing highlander now?
This didn't age well
Zephyrs.
Highlander hunter was best archetype in legend... So...
I find the Dinotamer Brann nerf questionable, to say the least. Nerfing Lorekeeper Polkelt should lower highlander hunter's strength enough already. And it's not like the deck was oppressive to begin with...
I'm really happy they're finally nerfing Voracious Reader though. The card was blatantly overtuned and should also lower wild aggro druid's power level by a bit.
Edit: Oh and no more Lorekeeper Polkelt into Raza the Chained curve anymore either. That's also pretty good. Nice.
As he eagerly waits for the patch to go live, Thrall is cracking his Knuckles.
Watch it dominate casue blizz doesnt ever think ahead with nerfs at all and then watch them nerf a bucnh of classic stuff(like dread corsair) forever instead of nerfing actual problem stuff or doing any buffs/unnerfs for ones that are weak/dead and gonna stay that way regardless of the nerfs.
So much salt.
With these nerfs there is more room for decks who are dominated by DH. Everthing will be fine and Knuckles surely is tested internally. Those tempo swings of Thrall can easily be controlled.
Internaly etsted yeah right even if happens if was good their etsting we'd ntoi end up with enrf, nerf, nerf, nerf, nerf, nerf, nerf, nerf, nerf, nerf, nerf after nerf constanty.
Blizzard is terrible at balance.
Finally a Reader nerf, I've been sitting on my two golden copies for months now
How do these fix the problem? Lapidary is still a 5 damage burst on curve, Blizzard?
Damn, DH getting wrecked hard. Don't really agree with the Brann nerf, also sad to see the Polkelt nerf since it's such an interesting card for deckbuilding. Huuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuge mistake not nerfing warrior
No nerfs for (Insert Name Here)?! But I have so many of them!
