tutor 3, specifically a secret and petting zoo (+ maybe study? tracking? hunter's mark?) plus a 3.5 mana body is good for 5.
Why yes I would like a 5 mana draw Lock and Load, Scavenger's Ingenuity and Petting Zoo for an amazing turn 6 with my midrange Hunter that will ALWAYS PLAY THIS ON CURVE
just wish the stat line on this guy didn't suck, tho.
I hate cards like this one. Why am I supposed to unpack/craft a LEGENDARY card just to draw? Legendary cards should be supposed to have interesting mechanics, not just "Uh, this card draws 1, so common... This other one draws 2, so rare... This one DRAWS 3! This must be LEGENDARY!"
You overlook two important factors:
This does not answer to my point. In short, what I said is "This effect is boring for a legendary card".
They could have easily made a rare/epic card with similar effect.
It's nice that they aren't afraid to print strong card draw for Hunter because of the rotating core set. This filters three cards from the deck and that's good enough to see play. With some synergies (like a spell based deck) or a strong build around curve then this can be pretty nuts.
Kodobane costs five and draws six mana's worth of spells. We know that there are going to be fewer burn-the-face spells, so give up that dream. Are there combos or spell sequences for Hunter that make sense with that layout?
I can think of two: Secret -> Petting Zoo -> Overwhelm, or Lock and Load -> Secret -> Petting Zoo.
Petting Zoo can find itself in an awkward spot because Hunter wants its secrets to trigger, which can make it hard to play the Zoo on curve. Kodobane can ensure you have a secret to juice Petting Zoo, plus either Overwhelm (for tempo) or L&L (for value). I like it!
As a 3/5 for 5 it's a tempo loss to play on curve, but it sets up a nasty turn six.
This card can draw you Tracking, any secret, and Petting Zoo. Not to mention you can play all of them next turn.
You don't need the full value of the battlecry to make this worth it. Between secrets, Quick Shot, and Lock and Load there's already plenty to pull at the 1- and 2-cost slots. Barak Kodobane looks like a very strong card.
Going to play Lock and Load hunter and call it...
If Hunter ever receives playable burn spells, this might be a "next turn kill" enabler - as it is, the class only has Arcane Shot for 2 damage, Quick Shot for 3 more, and nothing for 0 since Kill Command is rotating. AS is weak enough that it currently doesn't see play in Face Hunter, so I'm not too optimistic.
Otherwise, it's a nice refill, it thins out the deck, and it might help L&L see play in Standard. I'm guessing that the format will be somewhat slower after rotation, and this card might be more playable than it seems at first glance. I gave it 3 stars, as it certainly isn't a bad card.
I like this card. Maybe a little bit slow but it draws three cards.
Good card. It is good for hunter that this card thins out their deck, increasing the chance of their next turn-draw being impactful.
Incredibly bad card for hunter. Maybe it could work with Vereesa Windrunner, but she won't be in standard anymore.
Uhm, Aggro Hunter no longer goes Aggro? Is Hunter going into different meta now?
I'm sure there will be some aggro tools for Hunter revealed as it's core set does have aggro pieces. There may even be some good neutral aggro pieces for it.
Not good: They are starting to publish the cards together with the English versions. This could have been a Fluffy Centaur Archer :(

If this had a beast tag it would be even more insane. A 5 mana draw 3 is nuts nonetheless.
