I just want to say that I have hard times to save my decks and tracking them from a notepad file or some add-on is hard for me while i am playing this game from my desktop, laptop and my phone.
I have opened a thread in Official Hearthstone forums for getting a response hopingly. So,
Please let them hear me, If you have some thoughts about this issue of me, comment it to let them hear me easier.

If I'm not wrong Team 5 had stated that even adding those extra 9 slot was a pain, because deck slots is something on which they've issue tied to the core code of HS itself and could create issue expecially on mobile (it was something they've said long ago, when there was Brode).
Probably they could implement some sort of archive where you can go and choose which deck's code you wanna load and the game build it for you istantly or something like that.
"For what profit is it to a man if he gains the world, and loses his own soul?"
Yeah, even deck archive can help a lot. I mean, creating decks from phone isn't so easy, my laptop's burning when I'm using hdt with hearthstone. It takes so much time to copy my older decks when I try it on a different device than my desktop pc. I mean, I can play 1 or 2 more games instead of trying to copy my older decks. I really can't get it why it is an issue tied to the core code. It is just slot or saving system or archive system. You don't even need a server for it, their information could be hold in documents file like any other single player game's save file. I really can't get it.

It's a bunch of strings of data the servers have to save it's around what? 1K characters each? if they encode it it's even less.
I can understand why you would want to limit it for efficiency and having each account take less space but it just shows a flaw in the coding of HS if your code isn't flexible and open to changes your code isn't written well enough, each deck is justa bunch of strings that then the game interprets as the deck you queue up with we can easily infer that when they allowed to export and import them that's all the data needed to create a deck in your deck menu.
I think just many parts of the code reference the fact that there are just those 18 deck slots(back when we had 9 it was referring the 9 deck slots and the 9 basic slots), it would mean a lot of code needs to be refactored to NOT refer accessing the 18 deck slots, and access a none set amount of decks and in the same time have the servers manage also all the decks every user has at his disposal.
It's probably that it would takes the coders a lot of time to fix this problem that is rooted in some "magical numbers" or UI decisions that it's probably not worth it, can't find any other explanation to this decision at my level of knowledge.
It seems some parts of HS were done without the foresight of future additions for some reason take for example Deathstalker Rexxar, they mentioned they need to manually code zombeasts that's quite dumb if it's the case it means they manually made them instead of creating an algorithm that makes them, wonder if every expansion to come they will need to manually make any combinations..
All that said I am quite new to software so I might be missing something else that might be the source of such unwillingness to add more storage per user for the deck slots.
Sorry, but 18 deck slots is all the average HS player can take, any more and they'll be really confused. Even 18 is a bit of a stretch, many players are not aware of numbers beyond what they can count on their fingers.
I guess people on these boards aren't familiar with sarcasm. Shame, I enjoyed it.
It would be nice to have more slots, but I don’t see it happening
Stop hoarding. 18 slots is plenty. You need to Marie kondo your hearthstone decks.
The technology isn't there yet OMEGALUL. MTG Arens has it but the n1 card game doesn't
I struggle every day with this issue as i have t2 and t1 decks from wild and standard and then i wanna try fun decks so i have to delete one. In magic i still have decks from a year ago. Unlimited power!l!l
Not sure why people are downvoting you. The excuse Blizzard gave for why there are not more deckslots is literally that it is too confusing for new players
If your UI is so garbage that players are confused, maybe you should work on that instead of insulting your playerbase as an excuse
I mean, the flipside to this is, if your laptop can't handle accessing a text document, copying a string and then creating a new deck in HS you probably have an issue with your laptop? I've never had any issues with creating a deck from a code in seconds flat, even on my phone. If it's taking you the length of time it takes to play 2 games (20-30 minutes vs Warriors...) then you really really need to think about upgrading, and that's probably significantly easier than changing the whole client.
For that matter, it might be a good idea to track how often you actually play all of the decks that you have, and for how many games each time. You may find that there are ones you basically never want to play, that there are others you often do, and that you could easily actually get by with 18 if you prioritised them properly, or you may find that you want to play 20 or 30 completely unique decks regularly. If you keep a notebook and track it over a period of time it would give you good data to post (probably more effective in the playhearthstone.com suggestions forum, but here for interest and discussion too) and avoid the replies questioning whether you, or anyone else, really needs 19+ deckslots (ahem, looking at myself!).
Personally I find myself playing maybe up to 5 semi-regularly, and have a few I keep handy for some of the quests like playing low or high cost cards, or class cards so am usually under 9 decks, and never anywhere near 18, but on the other hand I'm also not a huge experimenter because I don't have anywhere near the time nor patience, and if I cull a deck I like I'll save the string and hardly ever find myself wanting to dig an old one out. But that's just me.
The problem with my laptop is about Hearthstone Deck Tracker. not notepad files, if it was about notepad files, i would use that laptop as a picture frame, lol.
My laptop is old, that's why I'm using desktop already but well I can't use my desktop always. Sometimes I need to go another cities because of my job and I can't take my desktop with me, you know, real life issues.
btw to be honest, notepad files are more frustrating than waiting my laptop to response deck tracker. Searching and finding the decks i've created before takes time and every time i am going a different city, I need to resync my decks like job documents. That bothers me so much. I am playing this game for fun but I need to archive my decks like documenting which is so boring to do. What I'm asking for is just an in-game deck archive.
Btw, I am playing a bit different than you. Sometimes I'm creating 2 of same decks with a little difference. I am play-testing the decks myself instead of netdecking, i don't like netdecking so it takes a lot of deck space and when I deleted an old deck but newer one acts worse, i need to build that deck again. I am exporting the old deck from deck tracker. That takes really so much time always getting older decks from tracker to game.
Unlike most players, I don't like to play always same decks, almost every 3-4 days i am changing my decks, sometimes it became day by day. That's why I am longing for more slots.

What does MTG Arena have? I know for a fact you're not saying they have unlimited deck slots, unless that's something they added recently, because I've hit the limit before.
The end of days is coming. Doomsayer was right all along.
Also if that's the reason I think the solution is pretty easy; just give it a progression requirement, like unlock a golden hero or reach lvl 60 with a hero or whatever they think would be the appropriate experience level to not get "confused".
18 slots is a joke for a game with 9 chars and 2 game modes.
+1 for Name droppin'
''This deck sparks joy, this one doesn't ... its time to let it go'' ^^
Struggle with Heroic Galakrond's Awakening? I got your back :
I always say if I haven't used a deck in over a month I can just let it go. This deck does not spark joy me, bye, bye. This way I can add newer decks without issue.
I have had this issue for years.
Infinite slots or archive please asafp.
If Blizzard could exponentially increase inventory space for item hoarders in WoW almost every single expansion then I really have to criticize the obstacle of increasing deck slot limits in HS. I may be no coder or game designer but that seems like a giant design oversight to have pigeonholed your future players into 9-18 slots almost as soon as your product has been created.
Hell, Blizzard even increased the default WoW backpack size, which they vehemently argued against for years.
If anything the opposition to more deck slots seems more like a money/server issue, not wanting to lose revenue by storing extra data for hundreds of thousands of customers. Blizzard is very much owned by Acti-Greed after all.
My suggestion would be (at least until/unless it changes) to use Google Keep. Easy to access and always up to date on all platforms (when you have internet access, but if you're playing Hearthstone that won't be an issue), has an app and widget for your phone, and easy to log into on desktop (not sure if it's possible to have any offline version of it synced, I've never looked into it). Please note, this isn't an argument against Blizzard changing deck numbers, just a potential way to store the decks efficiently in the meantime.
Another possible way (for decks you're experimenting with) would be to just have a single deck, but use a physical notebook (or Keep file, but physical might actually be easier) to annotate changes in or out (and track win rates, vs classes etc - something HDT likely does on Desktop or Laptop, but not Mobile), so that it only takes a single slot but you have the version history to revert etc.
