This could be a nice inclusion in standard rush warrior.
Turn 1 with the Coin: Quest + Upgrade + start hitting face. That's already 3 attacks at turn 3. Easy.
OK, so now it would be possible to have an aggro pirate warrior that never runs out of steam. Scary.
Can't wait to play this in a year when it's not hopelessly outclassed by Boom
That being said, this can actually fit in a number of Warrior decks, going from control to midrange, which is pretty neat.
It means Warrior will have new weapon!
Livewire Lance :)
I wonder how many weapons it'll take to trigger this reliably in a slightly more controlling warrior.
That's more speculation for some time further down the road, after Boom rotates, since Boom is almost surely the superior hero power upgrade. But Supercollider and Weapons Project are both 3-durability weapons that warriors already play sometimes. Running just those seems plenty. Granted, they'll rotate out at the same time as Boom rotates. But I think the premise stands. Is having three, 3-durability weapons in a deck enough? Four weapons with 3 swings? Two plus Gorehowl?
I love this card! Personally, I would love to see more mid-range or aggro cards for Warrior. I'm bored of playing Control Warrior. I want to play the aggressive Warrior for a change over the defensive Warrior.
I'm sure warriors will want to play this instead of Boom.
Who wouldn't want a weaker value generator/questionable midrange pressure card in place of a permanent rush aura/occasional value generator?
What we need now is some kind of weapon-Recruit card, to instantly equip a weapon from our deck. Either a Battlecry on a minion or a spell with some other enhancement on there; "Equip a weapon from your deck and give it Windfury."
Cool card once Dr. Boom, Mad Genius rotates out.
Mid-range warrior support
pretty good with cards like Sul'thraze, Fool's Bane, and Gorehowl.
none of those weapons are particularly impressive, but it would be a cool deck anyway.
Pirate Warrior will be a thing again with this quest?
You will for certain have weapons and pirates to finish this quest with warrior.
I don't know if any other warrior decks needs the hero power(cause of dr boom) but it looks solid, at least one 4/3 per turn for 2 mana is pretty good, and 5 hero attacks is not that hard to achieve.
After dr.boom rotates(in april 2020), you will see this quest in many warriors
Indeed. The old Quest Taunt warrior used to switch away from Armor Up in the late game, and while this isn't as immediate as Ragnaros shots, it's still a win condition. A control warrior with this quest, post-Boom, can ride out the early game gaining armor and swinging with weapons against enemy minions, then switch to cranking out a 4/3 or two a turn, plus whatever you draw. That's a lot of pressure.
Infinite 2 mana 4/3s by itself is pretty great. The refreshing bit is just the icing on the cake.
Obviously can't compete with Dr. Boom, Mad Genius, but I love this direction for Warrior. Go face, my son!
Needs some sort of midrange warrior with a lot of weapons. Probably not good right now with Dr. Boom, Mad Genius in Standard since it is too slow for any honest aggro deck (they want you dead on about T5-6 not miss T1 and start with 1 less card) and any midrange deck will have an easier time just running Boom. I won't forget about it though all we need is 1 or 2 good weapons that can be played at 2 like N'Zoth's First Mate and it might spawn an interesting new midrange pirate warrior deck.
I like the idea of this in combination with the spellstone in wild. This pushes a more midrange-based weapon warrior as opposed to the traditionally fast pirate warriors. I'll definitely be experimenting with it.
I think you're up for disappointment. Warrior isn't particularly well positioned for the midrange gameplan right now, having essentially no good answer to Res Priest or the many variants of Quest Mage. Similarly, Odd Rogue and Even Shaman are likely to grab the board early and never let it go until you die. I wish midrange in general were more viable in Wild but currently, it doesn't look like it's going to be.
So do we think The Cataclysm shown at 0:40 is legit for the next expansion or just a red herring? Assuming the latter, but....
